  1. Make TLR manager emeritus. Doesn’t travel with the team. Sits/naps on the bench, and lets the bench coach manage the games.
  2. It was a combination of bad pitching management, bad pitch selection and bad pitching.
  3. Agree. Bad fundamentals. Lack of adjustments. No running game. Not keeping runners close. Very high ground ball rate. Bad pitch selections. Bad bullpen management. And on and on. Mismanaged the high quality resources they were given. Hahn should also go. His trade deadline acquisitions were teriblr except Tepera.
  4. Well deserved. He would have come in earlier instead of Kopech or Crochet, we would be in much better shape.
  5. Kopech was gassed and Crochet is a rookie. I would have gone with veterans. Tepera, Bummer, Kimbreland Hendriks. Why did we overpay for Kimbrel to pitch only one inning in the playoffs?
  6. 2 big double plays from Abreu and Eloy hurt. Double plays have been the Sox Achilles Heel this season. TLR has not adjusted with some hit and runs or even straight steals. Abreu has led the majors in DPs hit the last 3 years. Help him out with some hit and runs, which also pressures the defense and open holes in the infield.
  7. Issue with our pitching today were bad decisions and bad pitch selections. Challenging hitters with fastballs in game situations with pitchers with great sliders. Letting Rodon pitch to Correa with the bases loaded. A fastball right down the middle to Maldonado for a hit and RBI and pitch to Bregman throwing him a fastball 3-0. Results of these three actions was 5 runs.
  8. Agree. Tony does not like to adjust. He is old school Earl Weaver type of waiting for the 3 run homer. No running game. Station to station baseball. Bad bullpen management. No sense of urgency. Need to change strategy.
  9. It was unfortunate that Grandal was the runner making a hit and run less likely. But the Abreu DP could have been avoidable by hit and running with Robert at first. TLR will not hit and run with Abreu or Eloy at bat, and we are stuck with one double play after another. We need a different manager next season.
  10. Another double play. A lot of our weaknesses have been exposed today: - Hitting many double plays. No running game. - no catcher defense. Pitchers not keeping runners close. Can’t throw anybody out on the bases. - Bad bullpen management. Keeping faltering starters in too long. - Bad pitch selections. Challenging tough hitters in game situations. - lack of in game adjustments. Very predictable station to station baseball. If we don’t have a multi homer game, we probably lose. Food for thought.
  11. AJ called for Crochet to walk Bregman to get to the lefty Alvarez particularly when the count got to 3-0. Bad pitching selection probably cost us 3 runs. You don’t throw a fastball strike to Bregman on 3-0. Then strikeout Alvarez to prove their strategy was wrong. We are getting beat with fastballs with pitchers with a nasty slider. You figure.
  12. TLR left both Rodon and Kopech at least one batter too long.
  13. A fastball right down the middle to Maldonado with 2 strikes was not smart.
  14. A bad combination of our pitchers not keeping runners close and bad throwing by Grandal.
  15. They are running us out of the ball park as predicted. We can’t throw any runners out.
  16. What about a hit and run with Abreu and Robert at first. Abreu has led the majors in double plays hit the last three years. TLR should know better. He never adjusts.
  17. Agree with AJ. Bring in Kopech to blow away the righty Correa. We have no margin for error. Walks also killed us, but we had a better chance to get out of the inning with Kopech. TLR tends to leave starters in too long in game situations.
  18. Rodon will be on a short leash. Worth taking a chance. Lynn is not a good match up.
  19. You are right. IMO Sox will probably need to hit some homers for us to win tomorrow.
