  1. No Robert or Eloy, but no Goodwin either. Still, looks a bit better than our usual Sunday lineup.
  2. I believe we should have counted down where we stood behind Houston for HFA on a daily basis, instead of Worrying so much about Cleveland. I think not getting much pressure from Cleveland made us take the foot off the pedal. Would not have been the case with Houston.
  3. Respect your opinion and hope you are right. However IMO Tony is no longer performing at a HOF manager level. We are in a different era now.
  4. We may pay a big prize for being so non chalant. about HFA, prioritizing rest/Sunday lineups over getting HFA. Sox have the best home record in the league. We may be over doing the resting thing, particularly if it results in the Sox not going beyond the first series because of not having HFA.
  5. TLR lacks the killer instinct to use all available weapons late to go all out fo r a win. How many times have we seen Mendick, Billy, Goodwin, Sevy hitting late in close games, with our “resting” guns sitting on the bench. Hardly ever putting runners in motion to avoid double plays or getting runners in scoring position....
  6. Goodwin has been horrible. His D is bad, and now he is hitting in the .220s. A good defensive outfielder with pop was our main need instead of another reliever. We needed to get Goodwin off the roster.
  7. When we are not hitting homers we are generally losing. We need to mix in some small ball, put runners in motion, pressure the defense.
  8. Small ball hurt us tonight. Rangers had 3 steals, bunted runner over. Things that we don’t do. Our station to station baseball doesn’t work well in close games unless we hit some homers.
  9. I wished they would have gotten more days. We need a break from both.
  10. I am for keeping Leury. He is a high energy guy who can play several positions and is a switch hitter.
  11. Robert is getting into “don’t let Robert beat us” territory within our opponents...
  12. Good to see Tim back. We need to win this game after two losses in a row to the Angels at home, which were a big downer.
  13. I don’t think anybody in the crowd at GRF is coming out to see Tony.
  14. I hope the Sox do not waste their Championship window with a crappy manager like TLR. The team, the city and the fans deserve a better manager. TLR low energy, no sense of urgency, boring ineffective station to station baseball with no runners in play with many double plays, perplexing on field decisions, Sunday lineups, etc. should not be the norm.
  15. This rationale doesn’t make sense, when you have the best home record in the league, and the fans coming out in droves to GRF. We have a better chance to compete at home. Need to get into the playoffs with a sense of urgency, a winning attitude and kicking ass, not playing Sunday lineups and punting under the rest is needed rationale. You have five months to rest and enjoy the big bucks they are getting paid after the season is over.
  16. My bad. I meant HFA. I have been dealing with my HOA this morning and was stuck in my mind. Apologize.
  17. No Goodwin. Pleasant surprise. On the other hand no Grandal. No Moncada. I hope fo r the first time in the season, we make Grandal and/ or Moncada available for pinch hitting as warranted.TLR has been too formulaic, not adjusting to circumstances.
  18. Then we can rest players if and when Astros clinch HFA. We need to continue fighting for HFA in the meantime.
  19. But Abreu won’t be able to hit into DP with first base open, and now we have Grandal protecting him.
  20. We did. Not running Leury was a big blunder. TLR has put away the run sign in a closet.
  21. You are both right. Madrigal would have made contact and bring in the runner from third with less than 2 outs. Will be missing him.
