Dodged a big bullet that he was facing a crappy hitter. Three walks in one inning fora reliever bringing the tying run to he plate with a lefty’ up. and the wind blowing out. Wow! TLR never makes it easy for Sox fans.
TLR didn’t even put Moncada in motion on a 3-2 pitch to Double Play Machine Abreu. Man, we need to bail out Abreu of some of the DPs he has been hitting into.
Good analysis. The team now on the field, at pretty much full strength is more likely to win games, than the lineup without Robert, Eloy, Grandal and lately TA. We should be a juggernaut into the playoffs.
Agreed, we want him to hit in first inning and hit as many times as possible in the game. Why does TLR always have to have at least one crappy move in every game?
Looks like our closest to full strength lineup of the season with all the big guns in place, and no Goodwin, Mendick and Sevy on sight. And with Giolito on the mound, we should have a good chance of winning. Don’t let Ohtani beat us.
IN other words it was a terrible trade, unless Sox wins World Series with Kimbrel’s help, like Chapman rental did for theCubs. Would at a very high price though.
Many teams would pick up Leury in a second. Utility players that can play several positions adequately, and are switch hitters as well, are always in demand. Let’s keep this guy.
It was more of a hard hit line drive than a fly ball. I think he misjudged how hard it was hit and it got by him. Should have made the play but it was not a give me.
It is a factor. McCann would have been a much better fit. But also what is hurting Kimbrel are the walks. You can’t afford walks in late relief close games, particularly the dreaded lead off walk.
