  1. Contrary to Stoney the TBS broadcast team said that runner was safe both times, and were surprised Sox did not challenge, particularly in the 7 th where we had nothing to lose by challenging. Something needs to change on current replay process.
  2. Right on. Our top coaches are on Medicare or close to it. We have a 20th century manager in a fast paced, metrics based game where you need to create and adjust, and not depend on old formulaic plans like matchups, little shifting, worrying about respect for the game, etc.
  3. TLR should delegate challenges to someone else on the bench or to a group of coaches on the bench to get a different perspective. We should err on the side of being aggressive. TLR said that in one of the plays it was a tie and that normally is not overturned from out to safe. This is BS, a tie normally goes to the runner.
  4. You are right. They were safe both times. Sox video replay and the coaching staff including TLR get an F here. Didn’t anyone in the Sox dugout see that they were safe or didn’t the runners tell TLR to review? This was a collective failure.
  5. I am not a troll. But yes I have issues with some TLR managerial decisions, which I vent out in Soxtalk. Apologize to those who disagree but there is freedom of speech in the good ole USA.
  6. A tie is normally to the runner. The second challenge was after the 7th inning and it was free and had nothing to lose. Both plays showed safe in TBS replays. Maybe the Sox should replace our video person then. The lack of a challenge particularly in the first inning probably cost us oneortwo runs with Abreu and Eloy connecting afterwards.
  7. These replays move too fast for TLR. He should delegate these decisions to Cairo. Someone should also be responsible to tell TLR what the rules are. He was criticized in the TBS broadcast for not challenging both plays at first when the runner was called out, and replays showed they were safe. TLR continues to cost us games.
  8. Yes and I quote: “ There is only one of the two that came close to being banged, and it’s close enough to where I was told it was like a tie. The call in that situation is rarely overturned in your favor”. Then he pivoted away and said “we had a heck of a lot of opportunities to make plays, get hits, make pitches than one replay”. Needless to say I am not in agreement with TLR, a tie is normally safe. He screwed up once more.
  9. It was an awful move. Foster apparently wasn’t watching previous games with the Yankees hitting homers on fastballs in the zone. The pitch to Voit was a fastball cookie right down the middle.
  10. Sox need to adjust to several double plays a game. That is hit and run, particularly with Anderson at first.
  11. I don’t like TLR managing moves. Seems like in every game, there is a controversial decision or omission. Like today. Not challenging outs that are safe. Bringing Foster in the 9th. Not hit and running when we keep hitting into doubleplays.
  12. Certainly hit ahead of Goodwin and possibly Moncada and Vaughn.. I would bat him 5th. Certainly not 7 th.
  13. Sox got roasted by the TBS announcers for not challenging the two plays at first which were shown as safe in their replays. Bringing in Foster in the 9th was inexplicable. Is Kopech not available?
  14. Will cross that bridge when we get there. Feel more comfortable with Lucas than with Keuchel or Cease.
  15. Hendriks has been wild in the strike zone, serving fast balls down the middle to elite hitters like Judge and Gallo. He will need a nasty slider to go along with his fastball to get guys like Judge out.
  16. Collins vs a crappy LH like Britton who had no command was the better option.
  17. Maybe before Cubs fire sale, but not with the current Cubs AAA lineup.
  18. TA would not take a walk. I also think we needed to keep the erratic Britton in the game and not pinch hit for Collins. But TLR loves matchups, couldn’t fathom hitting lefty-lefty even against a bad LHP.
  19. You are right. Abreu had an unbelievable at bat in the9th. One of the best of anyone this season. It was a big shame that we couldn’t capitalize on it in the 10th. And it went to waste.
  20. Problem has been fastballs in the zone to elite players.
  21. I would have pinched hit Vaughn for Goodwin, and stay with Lamb, rather than Goodwin facing the lefty in a game situation.
  22. We shot ourselves in the foot by allowing Goodwin to hit twice against LHP in key situations. We kept pitching to Judge and got burned.
