I only asked for Kopech in a close game against an elite team like the Brewers to show we can be competitive against possible playoff opposition. Don’t pitch him against the weaker teams...

Would not have been out of reach if we would have brought in Kopech instead of Bummer and particularly Burr.

It is pity, why get so worked up in a 7-0 game and risk suspension.

This game shows that we have problems beating good teams with good pitching. And that we are lucky we are in the worst division in MLB. I see Detroit now as the main competition in the division.

You cannot bring in Burr in a close game. Second time recently which he has been blown out. Kopech, Hendriks and occasionally Crochet are our only reliable relievers to bring into close games. Burr shouldbe sent to Charlotte tonight on a one way ticket on Greyhound.

Why wasn’t Kopech in this game.? We can’t expect to win a close game with Burr pitching.

Why is he still pitching in this inning?

Our 1-4 hitters are 0-13 so far tonight. That is not going to cut it.

Gavin Sheets would have looked better tonight hitting 2 nd instead of Goodwin.

That is very good news.

Collins is not a good enough catcher for a first place team. I wished we could have afforded to keep McCann.

This normally helps to keep the pitch count down unless he is giving up too many hits.

Shouldn’t TLR had considered playing Sheets tonight in place of Engel , who has not been hitting it well lately. We sacrifice some D but get a big left handed batter against Peralta who is mowing down our righties?

It would be stupid as DH opens more better paid hitting jobs in the NL and a better product onthe field.

Not only for improved offense but also to avoid injuries running the bases or getting hit by a pitch.

Particularly with so many inter league games.

Particularly with no DH.

TLR needs to help him out with more hit and runs. Normally guys on first for Abreu are fast runners. Abreu has been a machine hitting ground balls to third lately.

I like Moncada hitting cleanup instead of Goodwin. No DH puts the lefty Sheets out of the lineup, otherwise it is a good lineup.

Like that Robert is hitting fly balls. We need more of those. Some will leave our homer friendly park.

Either way we end the game with our 4th double play of the night. How fitting ....

Polanco has killed us on this series, so much that I would venture to say don’t let Polanco beat us in the future.

Ruiz is better in non stress situations and mop ups, but sucks on high stress situations and close games.

Burger has been overmatched in this game by less than elite pitching.

Double plays are killing the Sox in this game(and other games in the past). Need to try more steals and HIT & RUNS,and not just stand at first like a sitting duck. We just hit too many ground balls.
