And Yoan is finally looking good. Apparently the WBC helped him.

Ruiz is our right handed Diekman. Both are only suitable for mop up duties. Bad job by Hahn starting the season with these two losers.

Abreu is doing much better in domed and warmer Houston. He sucked in cold weather.

With a better bullpen performance we sweep. Bringing in Diekman cost us a game.

Diekman is worse. I guess they are keeping him because he is a lefty. But not to pitch to Yordan Alvarez with the bases loaded.

Andrus did not have a good day at the plate neither today nor yesterday. He refuses to take a walk and keeps swinging at pitches outside the zone, and leaving a ton of RISP. Time to try Romy at second?

And his 3B defense is superior. Would you replace him at 3 rd with Jake Burger who is a sieve? Take my chances with Yoan. -

Vaughn is susceptible to the strike out and the double play ball. Would not bring him up in the lineup for the time being. -

Main improvements this season so far, besides no TLR, is that we finally have a running game activated, more lefty position players, and better OF defense. Some issues still linger from last season: lack of clutch hitting, mediocre bullpen, impatient hitters that won’t take a walk. -

Still better than Vaughn, Sheets or Eloy patrolling left field. None of them would have been close to catching Alvarez drive. -

Whoever thought we could win a close game at Houston with Graveman, Diekman (particularly), and Ruiz trying to shut down the Astros late was delusional. -

There is always a first time. Diekman should be placed on a one way Greyhound bus ticket to Charlotte. -

Too bad we don’t have Crochet available. We don’t have a quality lefty reliever. -

Diekmann sucks. A fastball right down the middle to Alvarez with the bases loaded. Might as well have left Graveman to walk Alvarez instead. Dickman is only suitable for mop up duties IMO. -

Walking Maldonado was a big blunder. You cannot have a reliever walking two guys in a one run game late. Then walking Bregman to load the bases for Yordan Alvarez. And bring Diekman in. Shades of last season.
