I don’t think the Sox make changes much once you’re in.

On the positive side, Benettis HR calls have improved. Looks like he’s taking the mustard off and going straight dog.

One reason why Pedrol Grifol reminds me of Ozzie Guillen

I don’t know how much blame can go to a manager that has to get innings from his starters because his GM left him with a bullpen that has very little to offer, especially for a team that ostensibly is competing for the division. So pick your poison. Stress a bullpen that might be a smoking crater by midseason, or take the pain. -
Eloy to IL, low grade hamstring strain - retroactive to 4/4

I'm not sure how good it is that it's a different leg. Its not as bad. But if his whole body breaks down, that's not much consolation tbh. -

E he may have IDK, but he was busting his ass down the first base line a couple games ago. Maybe the Sox should give him the exclusive TLR exception to hustle -

His what hurts. If it was the same leg as last year, this becomes a more serious issue. If it is the other leg, it becomes a more serious issue. -
Sometimes guys just need the work. There's no way to tell if Pedro is going to do a good job yet, but this strikes me as one of those times they felt they had room to get him the work they thought he needed. Unfortunately he had to throw so many pitches. But it's better thsan blowing a save in a 1 run game tomorrow because he's a little loose with his stuff.

I'm satisfied. If the Bullpen was doing a consistent job, then I'm made happy. Colas from what I understand has soaked up every bit of hit coaching they threw at him for going on 2 years. He'll be able to make adjustments probably.

Why would anyone hate this level of performance? This was what we all signed up for years ago. Expectations are not a bad thing

Holy cow. Lopez can’t count to 3!

The split doesn’t matter. The state of the bullpen matters.

What do Sox want, expect, NEED from Colas this year?

He seems outwardly as a guy that stays healthy. He is a tank. -

Need: Good enough defense to keep the first baseman on the bench. A Vaughn rookie year at the plate Expect: a typical rookie learning the pitchers and plate coverage. Average defense with some upside. -
If he wasn’t 110%. That appears to be the standard often used.

Shallow group of starters. Even if you like them, use the realistic projections. The Sox need some young arms that can step in, these guys don’t have the outward appearance of an iron staff. My worst nightmare is considering what the Sox are gonna be giving up at the deadline trying to keep the season going at all costs

Tatis is the Sox’s Tatis. Colas we didn’t get by dumping an old pitcher to a desperate, silly team. Other than that, he is.
