  1. Mixed on a Beni signing. If his WAR translated, fine. But last season the Sox sacrificed too much power at the power postions, and not much is changing on that front
  2. *pops in again to check if the Sox are still working on signing a left fielder*
  3. Its not overplayed as an indicator of incompetence
  4. Fegan: https://theathletic.com/3996193/2022/12/15/white-sox-prospect-cristian-mena/?amp=1
  5. He may or may jot be worth that contract. But my God for one season here at least it was a very reasonable situation. Hindsight is 20/20, but many people on this board would fight you over that at the time.
  6. I have reason (hope) to believe that Shirley is not fruited from the same poisonous tree
  7. I think to make Beni work, you need power from the 3rd baseman. Otherwise the way the team struggles to hit homers, eh. OTOH, with Gallo, you need less strikeouts from 3b and everyone else. If the Sox go these routes, they tend to emphasize their existing flaws too much. Changes around these moves seem in order.

  9. Well because now I was obligated to google for Swanson’s wife. And it was worth my time.
  10. TBH, I prefer Eloy’s power to anything he has to offer
  11. So I guess this means the second baseman is an in-house solution. There’s nobody reportedly “working on” it
  12. At least ‘The right deals’ are ‘Presenting themselves’ prostrate in front of other teams. Good for them.
  13. the Sox being what they are, it's crazy they don't put everything possible into building up the minors, and just keep churning youth
  14. Sorry. It was a jokey joke. Basically the Machado situation where the Sox poison pilled their own offer where the Sox pretended to be big fish and got some publicity and good will. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Sox are allegedly in on everything and everyone. But gosh darnit just fall short.
  15. I am hearing from a source that the Sox actually had the best offer, the A’s should have taken it. Sox offer not what the A’s were asking for however.
  16. Hahn waiting for the right deal to present itself, and will act accordingly. No worries.
  17. It took me a long time to shake the idea that I had always bought into...That Jerry may have ownership in the Bulls and White Sox, but baseball is his true love, and he is more focused on the White Sox as a result. He has a real sick relationship with baseball though. That's not love. It's abuse. Best case scenario, he's like Pepé Le Pew. He may 'love' baseball, but not appropriately in order to be a good owner. His loyalty is to his fat, moneyed peers. He could never ever relate to the White Sox fan in the seatd. He has never been able to convince people that he truly believes baseball is a public trust.
  18. An NFL style trade down would be nice in that situation.
  19. Is "The right deal" going to walk through the door and make itself easy? For sure I don't want them to throw their best prospects at a deal for a generic mediocre talent. Not what I'm saying. At the same time, we all know what this means. Money.
  20. “In the end, we’re not going to force it,” Hahn said. “We’re going to wait for the right deals to present themselves and then act accordingly.” Jesus fucking Christ, we aren't you gonna force it? The sense of urgency is reallllllly missing with this people. They do know that this team has a limited window, rigght? The minor league cavalry is not going to arrive year after year or sustain much. Bueller?
  21. Considering his production, why would not Moncada be in this boat first? Realistically they’d be selling low. But “a number of reasons” should make a less productive player more vulnerable than the more productive one.
