  1. Didn’t want to eat Kuechel’s salary, Tony made mistakes and put the team to sleep. Totally self inflicted and unnecessary. Despite the holes on the team, they could have been right there with a little common sense and reasonable behavior by a top organization
  2. You know, I don’t know. Usually Sox fans are kind of blasé, and this FO moves at a glacial pace because Jerry gives out jobs for life at both teams. But I can say I have never in my life seen this fanbase so angry. Jerry has to feed us at least one management body to keep the mob from storming the castle. If I had to guess, LaRussa goes (kicked upstairs?) since when Jerry does make a move, it is on the court or on the field. But Hahn stays.
  3. I would say that absent a big acquisition, he should be treated like a talented prospect that should begin his big league education. Spring Training shouldn’t determine the decision imo. As long as he looks strong enough to grow into his tools.
  4. It certainly wouldn’t be a case of a green kid getting scared by the experience. He's been around a little bit. Worst that could happen is that he begins to get a taste how to hit big league pitching before ST 2023. Team needed some new blood and a shakeup ffs. But Ill tell you what, I hope he never spends a minute in a Tony LaRussa clubhouse being told to coast to first base. That’s one silver lining
  5. Adam Hoge said this morning that yesterday’s loss was a relief to him. Finally over. The AJ HR was annoying. I can relate to that.
  6. If any number of the bums we played this season could be on the team, not sure Colas can be worse .
  7. Dallas Kuechel on the mound repeatedly was state sponsored fan base terrorism
  8. Just letting loose more emotional baggage. Colas’ promotion to AAA, if he can come up to AAA, I still say he could have come up for a cup of coffee this year or more considering the need. Nobody agreed, but I will hold onto my delusions. ?
  9. I hear you. All true, yet despite that kind of thing, we stand regarding a team that may have blown the entire season just because they couldn’t bear to sit Dallas Gas Can Kuechel. That unnecessary decision and trotting out LaRussa as manager had to be worth -4 games in the standings minimum. Maddening. Sorry to get off topic but someone reminded me just now and I needed a place to vent.
  10. Sacred cows could be guys the fans and organization adore when things are going well (playoffs), OTOH, crushing disappointment will give an overly sentimental team like the Sox cover to dump if baseball reasons exist. Hahn could be a sacred cow for a strange owner that has a fetishized attachment (loyalty) to front office people that went stale years ago. Some teams more beholden to the bottom line would have less problems cutting ties. But Jerry is weird.
  11. I’m not optimistic, but I do belive some needed changes would be pushed over the edge, like Cairo possibly in for Tony. Hahn needs a boost in order to slay s other sacred cows too, if he is so inclined. It’s the only hope, so I embrace the silver lining.
  12. It should not be mutually exclusive to feature speed and defense next to power.
  13. Too bad Abreu wasn’t traded while they had the chance. Still can hopefully dump Moncada. Move Eloy to DH full time, get speed and defense into the outfield. If Andrus stays, move Anderson to second base. Begin prioritizing speed, defense, and smart baseball.
  14. He should have been traded when that window was being talked about. The White Sox were too sentimental. At some point this rebuild stopped cold , and they decided it was time to take receipts. Clearly too early.
  15. :opens can of worms. Closes can of worms:
  16. I think that’s true. Absolutely true. However, going back to the Bears example, Tony LaRussa is this year’s Matt Nagy. They have had different careers, but like the Bears had seen, everything outside of the Sox bubble is focused in on TLR as a clown, and like it got through to George McCaskey somehow, it might also get to Jerry. And like Ryan Pace (another oddball operative), Rick Hahn can get caught in the net as well. At least, I hope. Although Hahn is not in Pace’s league as a dysfunctional weirdo. So anyway, you know, George somehow got it right with his new hires (imo). Maybe Jerry like George both can learn in old age to get out of the way and stop trying to outsmart everyone else.
