The Quintana Eaton trades are the whole idea. Not to be on the opposite end of those deals. People are lining up to trade potential all star talent, or above average good young players for a 2 (hopefully 3, hopefully) month rental. That’s just weakness rather than strength. The Sox aren’t yet the Yankees with an endless pipeline. Lets try to get there rather than not.

If they want to trade Evan Marshall for a rental like Escobar, all for it. Bear in mind this team doesn’t just get burned in prospect trades, it habitually gives up hall of famers.

there is a “need” for a second baseman, but this team is so good that need is overrated. No need to trade a real prospect that has big upside. If we don’t do a deal, Eobert and Eloy are good enough upgrades to cover. Tired of seeing good ex Sox minor leaguers becoming all stars elsewhere. we have enough talent moving through the organization when you look around the league at Sox castoffs like Marcus Semien and FTJ which is rather an elite potential combination, there for the taking. The misuse of resources has been the key keeping this franchise down where it has been. Just have to avoid the impatience, and build by maintaining what we got going for us. Carlos once had a chronic structural shoulder/bicep issue that was corrected with surgery. And TJ. Neither issue seems like it will be a problem going forward.
