  1. We do need, but its not as serious as it’s been said
  2. The market looks like these guys are going rather cheap though. Stiever/Lambert/Adolfo type prospects might get it done?
  3. 5 seconds later he is cursing because someone says Gallo to the Yankees lol
  4. Possible the Sox never did like those other guys and really wanted Baez or Story. Now they leak to Bob to get leverage for one or the other.
  5. I think he said the deal was on but the Sox player(s) had a physical issue so it fell through. In all honesty though, that would have been very early for the Dbacks to settle for a minor return. Unless the market for all these guys is much colder than sellers think it is.
  6. Not really. Don’t assume the Sox are all that interested in giving up top prospects for a rental. Enough dominos are falling to question that seriously.
  7. The Sox aren’t thirsty, they like their team fwiw. At least, like it enough to do any deals on their terms. If I had to guess, they are concentrating on a reliever mostly
  8. True. A lot of things smell weird about all this. First of all the source.
  9. That kind of activity could indicate Scherzer to the Dodgers is a real situation.
  10. Not sure what the demand for Tepera is. But 2 years of arbitration left on a lottery ticket with some experience could he worth considering for the Cubs if the offers are garbage.
  11. https://mobile.twitter.com/mikemayer22/status/1420480590420324353 i dont know how to embed it, but The Athletic says Story to the Mets may happen
  12. Hostile! People who care what others post always have something to do. If I may help, don’t portend evil all the time. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
  13. That’s how badass the Sox are. So worried about the Indians they are bringing guys up from the minors to showcase.
  14. It wasn’t his chief concern. His main concern was the return on what you give up being worth the upside. And also, prioritized the reliever as the biggest need that HAD to be filled. I also would not downplay the chemistry concern. This team on paper could have lost a heck of a lot more without it. These guys like playing with each other. Heck some people worried about disrupting what Vaughn had going with Eloy. Its not like, something that should preclude improving. But you weigh it when you are asked to overpay for the possible improvement/short term benefits.
  15. Hahn could have beaten the Padres offer if he really wanted to. So we know the Sox are probably not desperate to do this.
  16. If the price is too high, it is understandable, and probably not the thing the team teally needs. Which is a guy to do what Lopez has been doing.
  17. It simply fits in with the character of this team, next man up. That’s another thing Ozzie said. Bringing in outsiders could disrupt the chemistry. Sure wouldn’t live to stand pat, but Ill understand.
  18. Right? You don’t want to depend on it though. Ozzie was saying this morning his preference is to get the reliever and leave second base alone if the price is too high, because while the guys there aren’t that good, this team around them is good enough already. Gotta agree with the Oz.
  19. Me and Hahn are sympatico. We aren’t that thirsty. Stay strong rh.
  20. He might regress. But then again for a rookie it’s hard to groove into a comfortable head space when you are not playing your natural position on a regular basis. He’s still developing, so otoh he might hold his own if he had more consistency as far as natural positional usage. Vaughn is more talented, but he showed improvement as he settled in to left field and he knew he was playing left when he rolled out of bed every day. Now I wonder if he will keep that arc of improvement going if Eloy forces him to move around more. But that’s another story.
