  1. we have enough talent moving through the organization when you look around the league at Sox castoffs like Marcus Semien and FTJ which is rather an elite potential combination, there for the taking. The misuse of resources has been the key keeping this franchise down where it has been. Just have to avoid the impatience, and build by maintaining what we got going for us. I hate trade deadline man. We should probably unplug the phones if anything.
  2. 4 more years! Fuck all the bloody handwringing. You want guarantees go to Northern Ave and get you one!
  3. That’s not clear. To me at least. During my reading on it when it was going on I don’t have a specific recall on this possibility. I would think even if so he has crossed the first threshold of avoiding that by making a full and somewhat prolonged recovery already.
  4. If a team just waves goodbye to a talent like this with no attempt , they aren’t a good organization. Something tells me the fans don’t get what they have been saying about this situation.
  5. Carlos once had a chronic structural shoulder/bicep issue that was corrected with surgery. And TJ. Neither issue seems like it will be a problem going forward.
  6. So Ill finally be the one to ask. What is the hand gesture thingy that he Sox do after a hit?
  7. There have only been 2 real things: He had a long term nerve impingement issue that is now finally behind him after surgical repair. And then TJ. But who hasn’t had TJ
  8. Sure is familiar. Rodon is always the guy with light run support. Anyway, people just writing him off as a guy the Sox don't need to sign are bananas.
  9. His ERA is basically the same as last year. Night and day is not the term to use imo. He’s up. He’s down. He’s medium. Although he maaaay be slightly less mercurial the last month or so, idk. We’ll see at the end of the year. But maintaining consistency will be key. His stuff was lights out last night. As I said earlier, imo he had no business giving up any runs at all with that stuff. I think it’s mental. You think it could be physical. Whatever it is, the presence of “it” makes him not untouchable. We shall see, but he reminds me of Floyd Bannister. Always expect more with that impressive arm but you don’t really get it. So far anyway.
  10. If he was able to maintain his mental focus it would be out of the question. But he generally can’t hold on to that focus for long. So, while you don’t shop that, you also don’t hang up the phone. I wouldn’t trade it for a rental, no.
  11. Leave him be and be glad he finally took defensive improvements seriously enough to fix.
  12. Hoyt without the diverse arsenal and powdered nose
  13. Kuechel being in the rotation would be a weak factor for looking away for sure. Top talent left handed starting pitching doesn’t grow on trees The Sox should make a serious effort at minimum. If it is off the table that is a surprise and a downer especially if the team goes to the Series and he does well.
  14. Rodon is the best pitcher on the team save for Kopech probably. Would not let Kuechel preclude keeping Rodon. Kuechel is on the downslope
  15. The short term nature of this deal still leaves room for Rodon imo.
  16. Stoney was saying he didn’t pitch, but he was there, and that has some measurable fatigue factor to it that he can take some extra time.
  17. Hard to say for sure how long Kopech could go, but me personally, I don’t have a problem with running him out there. Bet he would be fine. Damn sight more comfortable with that than Cease with the thought bubbles over his head under the bright TV lights.
  18. Fair enough. Just saying, Kopech starts before Cease does.
  19. I said from the beginning that there was no way in hell Sheets should ever play over Eloy. Not one at bat.
  20. I watched the game until after Cease unraveled and lost focus. He had no business giving up any runs tonight with the stuff he had. He should be out of the playoffs rotation. Kopech in. Playoffs is all about focus and mental toughness.
  21. Montgomery divided his time among 3 sports. He’s probably mostly self taught to this point just going on natural talent.
