  1. There are plenty of people who aren't total assholes that are calling out sexual harassment and racism that we never need to involve someone like KO.
  2. Tanking is a terrible strategy. It worked, (or might work I guess you would say since the Sox haven't won anything yet) in this case only because the Sox had two premium assets (Sale, Quintana) who could fetch a premium haul of guys who were all due to hit their primes within the same window. The odds of getting into that position again are small, so if the Sox don't win in this window, it could be a long time before it happens again.
  3. Sox would have been the 2nd WC under the old system. Yankees, Jays and Astros are the teams that got in because of the expansion.
  4. About the same probability of being true as his "Bears are getting Wentz" tweet.
  5. He has a Hall of Fame plastic surgeon person.
  6. Also very similar to poker players selling pieces of themselves.
  7. I'm not going to the park but a .08 jersey would be funny. Since that probably wouldn't be a licensed item, I'd consider buying it.
  8. Having multiple DUIs is very different than having one, and being in a high profile job or driving as part of your job makes having the DUIs different as well. This is a sign that the ownership really doesn't care about the fans, and they don't really deserve having the fans care about them. I will watch on TV and want the players to succeed, but I won't be buying tickets or merchandise so long as TLR is employed by the team.
  9. I'm not arguing that corporate tax structure is fair. I'm just saying that using the guise of employee safety to go after the profits of specific corporations is shady. What about higher corporate rates, with large tax breaks tied to the increase of employee wages that provide incentive to pay employees. Could something like that work?
  10. Why only grocery stores > 85K sq ft? Is working in a smaller grocery store less hazardous? Or is this a backdoor way to force larger grocers to raise their prices and help smaller ones compete. Also, why not drug stores?
  11. It appears that the Angels' standard start times are 6:38 on weeeknights and 6:07 on weekends. Opening night is 7:05 because of TV. The first two Seattle games are 7:05 local but the last game is a getaway day game. The first two Oakland games are 6:40 local with the finale being a getaway day game.
  12. Castonzo retired, but yes, still a good line, and as a Bears fan I like that the Colts gave up picks as it makes it harder for them to jump ahead of the Bears in the first round and get an OT.
  13. Well, he can't publicly say he has a problem with it unless he is going to quit, but not quitting doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't have a problem with it, it's not like he can just go get an equal or better GM job. If JR didn't think KW and Hahn might have a problem with it, he'd have told them.
  14. Rush Limbaugh, 70, conservative talk radio host
  15. Speaking of uniform numbers, I believe that the town drunk usually wears #10 and that is currently in use.
  16. Players and coaches are going to be placed at the appropriate level regardless of where the teams are. As for the stadium staff, I don't understand how switching from High A to Low A will impact them.
  17. Is this thing still available to purchase anywhere?
  18. Hasn't been above freezing here since the 4th and not expected to get back above until the 21st. Oh, and about 18 inches of snow on the ground.
  19. Yeah, it would really suck to have the guy with the 3rd best OBP on the team batting in front of Abreu and Jimenez. Who needs guys on base for them?
  20. Anderson 6 Grandal 2 Abreu 3 Jimenez 7 Moncada 5 Robert 8 Eaton 9 Vaughn DH Madrigal 4
  21. A salary floor can't work unless the teams agree to share local TV revenue equally. Also, don't look up where the Sox rank in local TV revenue. It will make you puke when you compare it to this season's payroll.
  22. What? Having relatives in town doesn't always entice big name players to come here?
  23. I do think cancel culture goes too far at times, but Holocaust comparisons are crossing the line in just about everybody's book.
