  1. I still think the Bears would have been better off not trading up for Fields, use the draft and FA to build up their OL and DL, suck for a couple more years under Trubisky, THEN get their QB. We'll never know how good Fields is playing for a team this bad.
  2. I believe that if you live in the Chicago area, the opponent's feed will be blacked out on the MLB package.
  3. Hey, we've had an average number of runs scored today for two games.
  4. Don't believe that Colas had anything to do with pursuit of outfielders. Totally believe that they wanted Conforto. Both extremely believable Believe that he's upset he can't run the team the way he wants but don't believe he's considering resigning. Not a chance Probably the least believable item All fairly believable Not sure I buy any of this I don't see any scenario where it takes that long to get a deal done with Benetti.
  5. When Quintana signed, the Sox had five healthy starters projected for the 2022 season. It's very possible that Quintana would have turned down $3 million from the Sox to take $2 million from the Pirates with a guaranteed starting job. Velasquez, on the other hand, wasn't going to get a guaranteed rotation spot from anybody.
  6. Sox have the worst living conditions for minor leaguers Sox have the worst pay and benefits for stadium workers I'm sensing a pattern, and it's embarrassing.
  7. ESPN doesn't have four different baseball announcing teams, so they had to borrow Kay for the WC round.
  8. Hit his 20th on September 3. Homerless in his last 27 games.
  9. Wow, not good for Hines. Almost certainly a concussion.
  10. I do believe I'd left the room by then as I was saying words I didn't want my mother to hear me say.
  11. Passing yards: Tom Brady since turning 40: 23.996 Jay Cutler as a Bear (franchise record): 23,443
  12. A big part of managing the clubhouse is the players understanding that you're putting them in the best position to win. There's no level of clubhouse management skill that can overcome the disgust the players will feel when the see their worst hitter penciled into the middle of the lineup.
  13. I don't want extra requirements like "speaks Spanish" or "young" or "player friendly." I want the guy who will be the best at optimizing the talent he's provided through lineups, pitcher usage and instruction. Period. Any other qualities are nice to have, but those can be requirements of the bench coach if the manager doesn't have it.
  14. They're not going to play 6 OL and give up an eligible receiver, but they could use another TE on the end of the line and put Kmet in the slot and only use 2 actual WR. With the WRs having so much trouble getting open, it might be worth a shot.
  15. Well, Hahn isn't leaving. As for Abreu, if they kept all three of Eloy, Vaughn and Abreu, I'd be more upset than if they let Abreu go, though there had better be a significant acquisition of at least one lefty 2B/OF bat in any case or I'm unlikely to buy tickets next year.
  16. That's the new penalty for an illegal shift. First offense is a warning. Second offense is a one run penalty.
  17. 1) Must have 100 PA/30 IP to receive a grade 2) Not holding time missed due to injuries against them A Dylan Cease A- Eloy Jimenez, Johnny Cueto, Reynaldo Lopez B+ Jose Abreu, Elvis Andrus, Michael Kopech B Andrew Vaughn, Tim Anderson, Jake Burger, Danny Mendick, Lance Lynn, Liam Hendriks B- Luis Robert, Seby Zavala, Kendall Graveman, Tanner Banks, Jimmy Lambert C+ Josh Harrison, Gavin Sheets C Lucas Giolito, Davis Martin C- AJ Pollock, Yoan Moncada, Romy Gonzalez, Vince Velasquez D+ Matt Foster D Jose Ruiz, Yasmani Grandal D- Adam Engel, Reese McGuire, Joe Kelly F(uck off) Leury Garcia, Dallas Keuchel
  18. So Super Joe has cost the Sox at least a dozen runs by sending runners too aggressively, and on the last day of the season the fans are booing him for not sending someone when down 10?
