  1. Harrison by himself wasn't bad it's just that he was redundant when they'd already given Leury 3 years. If they hadn't already done that Harrison would have made sense. Cueto was going to be a good signing even if he was a 4.50 ERA 100 inning guy but he of course looks like way more than that.
  2. Get another run or two and it'll even be safe to use Joe Kelly.
  3. So that begs the question as to whether someone who was not on the roster before May 15 has ever made an All-Star game (voted in excluded)?
  4. Don't challenge when it's 1-0 but challenge when it's 7-1. Sure.
  5. This game is making up for that 2 hour 10 minute game in Cleveland
  6. Lynn is #5 right now. Kopech is 4 and it's basically a coin flip between Gio and Cueto for 2/3.
  7. My mom doesn't watch a lot of Sox games. She just walked into the room during Cueto's last windup and shouted, "what the fuck is that?"
  8. Cueto needs to pull that lucky horseshoe out of his ass and share it with the rest of the team.
  9. Just to put this into context, if you make $500/week and have to be at the ballpark for 5 hours a day, 6 days a week, that's $16.67/hour. Minimum wage in some states/cities is $15.
  10. Anybody catch this and able to provide details?
  11. Nobody outside of Abreu has been consistently good enough to say that they should definitely be in a specific spot in the order. Moncada has at least started walking a bit so he's as good a guy to have batting in front of Abreu as anybody else.
  12. Engel is still short of the 5 year service time required to be able to refuse being optioned to AAA.
  13. Yes it taxes the depth but Pollock in LF and a Sheets/Engel platoon in RF isn't any worse than Eloy in LF and a Sheets/Pollock platoon in RF.
  14. #FireTony is trending on Twitter.
  15. He's 77 years old. He can always say it's due to the physical grind and has nothing to do with the team's performance. That said, I agree that it's very unlikely he steps down as long as the Sox are not deadline sellers.
  16. Well there was at least one time he didn't pull out.
  17. Serious question: do we actually know that TLR was forced upon Hahn/KW by JR, or are we all just assuming that?
  18. If you really want to protest: 1) Don't buy tickets 2) If you already have tickets, sell them on StubHub at below face value so people will buy your tickets instead of buying them from JR 3) Don't buy Sox gear 4) Don't watch games. Let the ratings suffer
  19. Only if it leads to the firing of the manager and hitting coach. Otherwise, it's players who will be needed to be good in the future for the Sox to have a chance and I'd rather they not suck.
  20. The great unanswered question is whether Hahn and possibly others threatening to quit over the hiring of TLR might have prevented it. Would JR have valued "making things right" with TLR over the public embarrassment of a revolt by upper management?
