QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 10:05 AM) Also, if you are driving and depending on your final destination, it may be faster to take rt. 47 instead of I-57. This was before the new 355 extension was open, though. Route 47 is too slow with too many cars and stop lights/signs There is a better route my dad has taken for 20+ years and it is more direct than 47

QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 5, 2008 -> 07:41 AM) I was discussing a coincidence with a good friend of mine. Both of us happened to have been married to our first spouses on the same day of the year (different years). I did some quick math and realized there are 365 x 2 possible combinations of our two anniversary dates. Making it 133,125 to 1 that this would happen between any two people meeting at random. However, I also realize that there is a 1 in 365 chance that I would meet someone with the same anniversary as me. So is this a rare thing, 133,125 to 1 or a fairly common thing 1 in 365?? I was always intrigued by the birthday problem, where you would only need 23 people in a classroom to have a 50% that at least 2 of them shared a birthday, so I assume the odds of this are similar and it would be 1/365 for the 2 of you

QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Jul 18, 2008 -> 02:13 AM) Not saying that Billy doesn't know how to assemble a talented team but in any of those seasons have the A's REALLY been a contender or just good teams without the juice to go all the way. I like what Billy does in working with a low payroll but he does continue to sell off all of his talent for prospects seemingly year after year. This goes all the way back to Giambi, Mulder, Hudson, Tejada, Haren, Harden, Blanton, anybody else that I've forgotten? I'm sure there is, the only big name player that they signed to a long term deal was Eric Chavez who has had his career derailed by injuries. Guess my point is that eventually you have to stop selling off your talent and take a shot at winning it all. In the late 90's early 00's he had a rotation of Tim Hudson, Mark Mulder, and Barry Zito yet chose to break up the trio by trading Hudson and Mulder, at that point all three of them were dominant pitchers, if you aren't going to make a run at the title with those three anchoring the staff, Keith Foulke closing games and Giambi, Tejada, and Dye in the lineup then when are you???? He doesn't seem willing to take the necessary risk to make a title run. That is one thing that I respect about KW- at least he's got balls. Some people here need to read Moneyball

QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 10:04 AM) August 2-5. enjoy the heat, my friend was out there last year at this time 100°F +; but as for recommendations I can tell you there is a lot to do just walking around the strip and you can just gamble and get your free drinks and have a great time

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 11:11 PM) I think in Excaliber there is a place on the lower level for kids. Unless that is another hotel. Like an arcade type thingy. They still have that in Excalibur; the Rio has the free show in the casino which isn't too bad; there probably isn't a ton to do with kids though

QUOTE (Shadows @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 02:57 AM) Um, Cena is dead.. he wont be at the PPV There is no way for WWE to get out of this one, no one moved him out of the way or JBL would have seen it. He was out cold, I doubt he hopped up and ran away. I have no idea where they think they are going with this, but it was the WORST ending to a show that I have ever seen. Horrible. No clue what they are doing with this As they were walking towards the outside of the building I predicted Cena may get run over but not the death blow he "received" from JBL's car -
