Current Pito way better defensively than Frank, especially throwing & Pop ups. Early Pito had worse hands at 1b, but he fixed that.

yep terrible arm because he hurt his shoulder playing FB at Auburn. He quit Fb because of the injury. Runner would go first move on our lefties, because Frank couldn't throw them out at 2b Frank was also terrible at pop ups.

yes...although the one thing that was a little disappointing for me about him is his arm. Don't get me wrong, he has a strong arm. Its just not the canon it was hyped to be. Still what an unbelievable freak of an athlete.

IMHO if we win the ws, then we trade kimbrel in the off season. If we don't, maybe we keep him as closer and Liam set-up guy. Liam regains closer in 2023.

Cease in the bullpen makes a lot of sense in the playoffs. If one of our starters struggles out the gate. You can get him out and have cease dominate for 5 + innings and give you a chance to win without taxing the rest of the pen. Remember Dallas is good 2x times through the lineup. Then you could get him out and cease stuff will look extra hard after the soft tosser. Less pressure on inexperienced for playoffs cease just give him clean innings in relief. We will need 3 starters for round 1 and 4 the rest of the way. Also with Cease (and Kuechel for first round) to the bullpen I expect we will leave Ruiz (lopez) of playoff roster in favor of Hamilton (Burger 1st round?)

I think Cesar is capable of stealing quite a few bases, but think of his situation in Cleveland. He batted leadoff. Reyes was out for a significant amount of the season. If he steals 2b, Ramirez is just intentionally walked. He had the red light. I watched one game that was tied late with Cesar on first and the announcer said don't expect him to go as he hasn't stolen all year. He went and had it stolen easy but the ball was fouled off. 2 pitches later he swiped the bag easy. I expect he'll run some for us. Of course pito will swing though.

keep in mind madrigal had surgery to repair a torn hamstring. That could be a reoccurring problem. Getting hernandez covers 2b for awhile. Our Bp can be lethal now.

of course their is a sox scout at the mariner/a's game. In the near future we are playing 7 games against the a's. It would be nice to know how to pitch/play them.

A quality starter with a couple years of control and they could then sign Max next year if they want. Their problem is that they could get a lot for max in the off season if he wasn't a free agent. But how much will a team be willing to spend on a short term rental for him? Not near what he is worth.

here's an out of the box thought: Scherzer for Kuechel & Burger. 1. Upgrade to a big game playoff starter. 2. Clear Dallas' contract which in part can be used to re-sign Rodon. 3. Keeps him away from the astros.

I think their definition of competitive in this instance is 500 or slightly better, not playoff bound. Just an interesting team for fans to watch.
