  1. Exactly. Which means I am not guilty. Which is what I said. It doesn't matter what you believe. If you cannot prove it, I am not guilty. Dude, we can go on forever. Take it up with the Forefathers...they set up the system.
  2. But his exoneration is not my "belief." It's based on the conclusion of the investigations. If you accuse me of stealing your beer & the proper authorities investigate & conclude there's no (or not sufficient) evidence to support your accusation, I am not guilty of stealing your beer. At least not in this country...
  3. OK, fine, but your "belief" in her story doesn't make the guy guilty (in any sense of the word) of the accusations. It's just your belief...
  4. So because the accusations were not "proven false" (whatever that means), he's guilty?
  5. If only we could all do that fine...
  6. But it is an extremely political issue whether you think it should be or not...
  7. My all-time favorite centerfielder. Hence, my name...
  8. Why is Fletcher not playing? Went 5 for 9 last two games? What's the deal?
  9. Ok, so nothing that we haven't seen a thousand times with professional athletes?
  10. He wouldn't be the first athlete to be blackballed due to circumstances surrounding him/her. Sometimes it is, sometimes it's debatable & sometimes it's just plain unfair.
  11. Dunno. Did he create problems on the Sox last year? Serious question. I didn't hear of any, but I don't live in Chicago anymore, so I may have missed something...
  12. I was a huge Francisco Barrios fan in the late 70's. I had heart surgery as a kid and my dad knew someone who worked at Comiskey, so he asked Barrios if he would come visit me in the ICU. The guy hardly spoke a word of English, but he showed up and spent more than an hour with me ... the day following a nighttime start. I'll never forget his generosity...great dude. Just sad what happened to him later on.
  13. 2024 is gonna suck no matter what. Therefore, clean house, fill the SS hole with something cheap until Montgomery is ready (same approach at catcher until Quero is ready), try & sign a corner OF who can help you for 3-4 years, develop your young SP in the minors, and then spend big next winter. The goal should be to compete in a bad division in '25.
  14. Yes, and use some of that cash to sign a middle infielder or SP for 2-3 years. Someone who can hopefully contribute in 2025. No reason this team cannot legitimately compete in '25 if they spend wisely while ushering in the new crop (Montgomery, Ramos, etc.).
  15. Baseball wise, it's another loss for the Sox...
  16. Clevinger made the right call. He'll make more & will likely sign elsewhere for at least 2 years.
  17. If Eloy goes elsewhere and busts out, we can rightfully blame awful development by the Sox. Until then, he's a classic underachiever, regardless of the "why." There's enough evidence over 4 seasons to make this conclusion. There's been a boatload of them...not the first & certainly not the last.
  18. Most consistent...sorry, two whiskeys in.
  19. Relax, Bro. He's been our most consistently starter all season.
  20. He's been essentially average to below average offensively for four straight seasons. Has it been all injury related? Seems like there's probably a lot more to it...
  21. So he's a "piece of -----" because you had him pegged as being a wife beater based an accusation, even though the evidence supposedly proved otherwise? Give the guy a break. Remember, this is still the USA where burden of proof is supposed to mean something.
  22. Could anyone have imagined in 2020 - when the "window" was just opening and all of the young talent was just beginning to brew- that this would be a very typical prediction by both fans & writers three years later? When most thought this team would be on the cusp of a WS? Depressing...
