  1. If Cease can keep them scoreless for 6 or 7 innings then we might just have a chance!
  2. His hitting is only a bit worse than last season and is around his lifetime average, but in the field he is much better than what we regularly trot out and would make fewer errors leading to runs, like last night. Granted he is not the long-term solution as the whole OF (barring Robert) is disaster of mismanagement and failure to acquire players who can actually play in the position for which they are being played.
  3. Not defending TLR's bizarre line ups but Engel was on the injured list a lot last season and has been on it a bit this season. If he could stay fit then I agree he would be a better all round option in OF than Sheets or Vaughn
  4. 'Refuse to lose' isn't as catchy as 'Strive mightily to win'! ?
  5. Vaughn is legit with the bat but he is not as an outfielder, and IF we keep Abreu he is unlikely to suddenly agree to DH which leaves a problem. And Eloy should really DH and not play LF as more than an occasional start. And that is without considering Burger and Sheets who are both really DH types as well. Unfortunately this squad has too many of these type of players, and to really open up the roster at least 2 if not 3 of them needs to be part of trades in order to bring in proper corner OF'er and a better 2B. The pitching side of things as you say is probably ok as long as Lynn doesn't do a complete Keuchal and Giolito bounces back to somewhere near his best. And as you say doing anything whilst keeping Hahn and TLR is just a waste of time.
  6. And what are the prospects of a 'smart offseason'? Hahn has created this mess so expecting him to sort it out is overly optimistic. Even without a senile manager and dubious coaches this squad has so many holes in it that it would struggle to win a championship.
  7. He will probably end up with a reliever and a few rumours we tried for X,Y or Z unattainable players.
  8. This trade deadline for the White Sox has been a bit like the whole 2022 season, distinctly underwhelming.
  9. We would be 10 wins better without TLR!
  10. The amazing thing is that despite the awful play and bad management they are still only 3 games behind. I fully expect them to stay 3 games behind all season but the potential to win the division is there if only they wanted it.
  11. The air is too thin above .500
  12. 'Don't try then its not your fault if it goes wrong'
  13. Could we trade TLR and all his staff to a Little League team in return for a bag of balls, or would that be too high a trade price?
  14. If only Cueto would wear that outfit on the mound it might make this game worth watching!
  15. Remember it will be ok when we start the easier schedule after the ASB, or when the weather warms up, or when we get all the injuries back.
  16. Just reading the MLB.com article about what each team needs ahead of the trade deadline and apart from saying a LHP for the bullpen is the biggest need Scott Merkin concluded by saying "The truth is the White Sox have a fairly complete roster when healthy and don’t have a lot of open spots." Am I missing something but I think the White Sox roster is far from complete and has 'open spots' all over the place that have square pegs rammed into round holes.
  17. Eloy could probably injure himself just watching this clip on his phone.
  18. Then again this is the organisation that traded away Tatis Jr for James Shields!
  19. 'You don't have to be drunk to watch this but it helps' That was picked by TLR as a slogan.
  20. Garcia managed to get himself out twice in one innings, a feet I have never seen before, and yet he didn't seem to get a bollocking from our senile manager.
  21. Don't worry it will be alright when the weather warms up....
  22. You just blew the trade with that last bit!
