  1. I thought we'd show more heart this year with Daubauch and Jose V our regular ss. And adding Koch. But we're playing bad ball. I realize if we win 10 in a row I'll be a big JM fan again, but folks we probably really should fire him. Like Baggs and Heather said, it looks like the same ol s***. We may need a change for the sake of change. p.s. As soon as Borchard is ready health wise, it's Joe time.
  2. Good points Roman and funny, too. We can go 1 of 2 ways. 1.) Support JM and figure we are too good to play .500 ball. Or 2.) Fire JM and promote somebody from our organization who frankly probably won't be any better. What should we do, folks. We may have to ride this out and wait for the warm weather to heat up our bats. But I would not scream if we canned JM. It sure is frustrating, tho.
  3. Oops I hadn't been on the board recently and finally read several threads and many of you also trashed Gordon. Sorry for the redundant post. GO SOX!
  4. I used to be high on Aaron but a lot of you pointed out he had no chance to be a star. With his slow start I'm starting to waver in my confidence. Why can't these young guys hit .250 for a while during their struggling times. The .098 batting averages are not good and force changes. That's why I'm happy Crede started relatively fast this season and after we brought him up last year. Aaron may be finished with the Sox in 3-4 weeks because of this horses*** start.
  5. Baggs said: i was jerry's biggest supporter until how he mishandled the foulke situation..it still bothers me to talk bad about his performance and i want to defend him when i see others who have been ripping him from day one do it in an unfair way...but i think we are almost to the point where the only thing that will make this team play to potential is the firing of manuel.. if the players really like and admire manuel then this west coast road trip should be their chance to save his job...because if we come back with our tails between our legs he has to go...that should be made clear to the players too...and it should also be made clear that player changes will be made along with jerry going should this happen they should all know they are playing for their jobs on this next road trip..then we will see who wants to play and who doesnt How can anybody argue withi Baggs? He is 100 percent correct. This is the correct take on the situation. This is it. Does anybody disagree with Baggs? He hit the nail on el head.
  6. Hey, I haven't seen many games on TV unfortuantely, but do read the boxes, recaps, articles, etc. and I am thinking Flash Gordon needs to go. Am I off base or is this guy not so good? We seem to have plenty of pitchers capable of filling his role. To those of you who have seen most games ... is Gordon done? I don't think we need him coming into games and giving us the ugly linescores he's been giving us. Should Flash be dismissed ASAP or are you hopeful? I am thinking it's time for Flash to depart. Comments?
  7. Good points SII. I wonder if Garland is dumb or a flake. I don't know the guy, but if he is as dumb as dirt and a guy who simply cannot improve then I'd agree it may be time to dump him.
  8. I thought Daubach would be awesome, too. I wonder why he can't get a hit to save his life.
  9. We can't give up on Garland yet. He's had some incredible games. Somehow we have to get him to get his head out of his ass, however. Maybe Koch should take him under his wing and rib him like he does Big Frank.
  10. Crede's statement about the call was awesome. Perfect. He is a class act and I now am a big, big Crede fan. I like this guy.
  11. Baggs said it all. Our decent record says we haven't lost a pennant yet, unless we are led to believe the R's can keep winning like this. This is getting serious at 16-3. I think Baggs is right, though. The season starts with the games Baggs said. I hope we are able to kick some butt. Unfortunately the Twins have been getting their asses kicked and are probably due to rebound.
  12. At least the Royals have beaten the truly s*** teams. I wish we'd dominate the crummy teams. It's not a good sign we are 2-4 vs. KC. We should be 5-1 versus KC
  13. Good point Killa, but I thought Valentin was hitting pretty well. I wished we got more games on TV in KC
  14. My expectations are winning the division. I guess if we stay over .500 we will not make any managerial changes, but I'd like to see us start to kick ass as soon as the weather warms consistently. I guess 2 over .500 is good enough for a while, but if we lose a couple series in late May or June and are still very close to .500 I'd make a managerial change.
  15. I agree we have been frustrating at times despite a pretty good record. Hope Konerko can get it going afore long.
  16. If he ain't 100 percent then we better play Rios. He might be our Loiza of the field. A guy destined to have a great year. I'm moderately concerned about our team. Anybody else?
  17. That sucks he got robbed. Maybe we should have hired Dusty Baker instead of the Scrubs. Is our skipper capable of leading us to a 30 games over .500 season?
  18. Should we bring up Borchard now? How come Aaron suddenly is Royce revisited?
  19. It is funny. I like what Koch is doing to Big Frank. We need good clubhouse guys like you said. My opinion on the season: Hey we need to get our act completely together. Loiza is 4-0 and we still are not dominant. I'm not complaining, but what a nice addition he has turned out to be. None of us were counting on a dominant No. 3 guy. Is KW a better GM than I envisioned? Jimenez is doing well; Olivo looks good. Loiza is awesome, etc. You've got to think we are gonna be in good shape this season. p.s. Will Kansas like Bill Self? I covered Roy Williams and he's gone and now we have Self who appears to be a great guy.
  20. I know what you mean bout Detroit, but hey I'm glad we're taking care of business against the crap teams. We can't get swept by the Royals next time.
  21. That is wild he is pitching again. Who's he with? I have no idea but my prediction is Expos or Brews. I also loved his performance with the sox.
  22. I did bash Sandy when we signed him. I see he kicked the bleep out of Cleveland. Nice. Is he really attacking the ball or getting lucky or what? I can't imagine Sandy hitting. The few games I get to see on TV in the past he looks so helpless at the plate. But numbers don't lie. He must be whacking the ball. Kudos to Sandy.
  23. I haven't gotten to see him yet either but it sounds like he's been awesome. How'd we get this guy and what is his best pitch?? We are on a roll as a team. Nice.

    Crede

I was watching and also happy to see that double. That was nice. Hopefully Crede will be fine. That sucked when my boy Jose booted that routine grounder. And it sucked to see De'Angelo go 0-for-4. But it was just one rotten game. No bright spots when we get three frickin hits. Let's go Sox.
  25. As usual, very great points, Baggs. Very good points. In my post, I meant to say Runlys Hernandez or Fernandez or whatever his name is really pitched welll. I don' t think it was all our ineptness. If we continue to do the things Baggs pointed out, JM will be gone a month into the season. I will not panic after one game, we could blast the R's the next two days but we did suck on Opening Day, no question about it. I don't think JM has a long leash this year. He will be gone soon if we don't win 2 of 3 games in several series. That's my opinion at least. Although we might be too cheap to can his butt. By the way I live in KC area and R's fans think Game Two pitcher Affeldt is also gonna stymie our Sox bats.
