first game of the year and I'm already frustrated.
greg775 replied to CWSOX45's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Don't fret yet. Sure we were pathetic, but the R's starter Runlys was really nasty. He impressed me when he whiffed Maggs looking and went 3-0 on some Sox hitter and ended up getting him out with no problem. I thought we played s*** but it's one game. We sure didn't look like winners today, but at least Mark B. pitched well enough to win. It is amazing, however, that it always looks on paper like we're gonna have a potent offense but while I'm not panicking I sure hate when instant out Alomar is in the lineup. I will be dismayed if we lose all three. We need to win one of three at least. A sweep would be bad. -
It'd be nice to have our young guys whack at least five hits apiece in the series against the crap Royals. I know the series means nothing in the grand scheme, but it sure would be nice to win 2-3. Or 3-3. 1-3 will be moderately annoying. A Royals sweep will be bothersome.

I'm kind of intrigued by Aaron Miles. I wonder if he shoulda gotten the job.

that's wild i am here in anaheim rite now waiting for tomorrow's elite eight game. no sox game for me monday either way. rats.

We need to win 2 of 3 but I fear we are only gonna win one.

Who is going to have a better year Lee or Jimenez?
greg775 replied to Chris B's topic in Pale Hose Talk
lee is the better player, folks. -
you mean you'll be in KC for the opener or n. orleans? come down on press row and look for me. Go Sox
-
Thanks for the facts. Gordon worries me for some reason. Remember I said that cause my worries often turn into reality. Off to Anaheim chisoxfan. I don't know if Kansas can beat Duke and Zona/ND but your are right if they win I ain't going to the opener in KC.
-
Do you folks think Gordon will be an asset or suck for us? Is this guy a gamer or a stiff? How is Daubauch looking? Give me the lowdown on him. And who the hell is Rios? I have not heard anything about him in the past. And finally do you think we've put together a contender? I must say without Royce and Ritchie I got what I wanted. We got rid of two awful players and now we have what appears to me to be a real contender. That said we better take 2 of 3 from KC. There's no reason we should drop all 3 to those stiffs. Sorry for the rambling but I haven't been able to follow spring training as closely as I'd like.

Aaron Miles already is playing a lot of ball. He's starting point guard at Kansas. Sorry, couldn't resist the play on names. Yep. they has got the same name.

Sox's spin on negotiations displeases Buehrle camp
greg775 replied to Mr. Showtime's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Mark is outta here as soon as he can leave. We're screwing him like we did BlackJack McDowell all those years. Too bad. He should be making more money this year. St. Louis is gonna have a heck of a pitcher soon. -
Uh oh. We need him this year. Who's gonna be out No. 5. What do you guys n girls think of our No. 5? I am asking. I don't know much about our candidates. Is Rauch ready or too wild? Is Gil a bitter pill or a stud?
-
By the way, Beltran is available big time right now. Do we want him??
-
Why do we want to trade Cub killer Lee? KW appears to have made some smart moves and it looks like we have a contender. We need more than 3 dependable outfielders anyway. Let's keep what we have right now and if we are contenders add a pitcher at the all star break by trading lousy prospects for a stud pitcher.
-
I agree Rex. The difference with cancer Clayton is he was assured a job. If Jimenez pulls attitude, we got guys to replace him. He must have been a piece of work with the Pods, however, for those veterans to rip his ass like that in the media.
-
I'm glad everybody recognizes the demolition of Comiskey was a sad day. i wish we kept old comiskey til we really needed a new park.
-
I say if Borchard is playing better than Lee or Rowand play Borchard. If Lee or Rowand complain, then trade Lee or Rowand. We need to have guys who can produce. But why trade Lee at this point for minor leaguers? Like the one poster said, we don't need to do that right now.
-
We are jacking around with Buehrle. It's a credit to him he hasn't blasted management more. Give him some frickin money. Even if he sucks completelyli this year for some reason, he deserves some cash.
-
,This may sound stupid. But I really don't want Griffey. I'd rather have Lee than Griffey. Griffey is one of the things wrong with baseball. Total primma donna.
-
We needn't worry. We have enough studs on the team to put him in his place if he does anything stupid this year. We have some veteran stars and some young stars who have proven themselves. He won't act up on the White Sox. Koch will kick his ass or Daubach if he does. Or even Jose V or Paulie.
-
YOu are right that one series doesn't matter, but the Royals are so horsecrap it'd be nice to beat KC and the Tigers in all but say four games this season.
-
Great points by Baggs, especially "i hoipe he figures it out this year." I wonder how long we'll stick with him if we fall 8 games behind Minn by mid May or something stupid like that. We need to win the division. Too many good teams with money to bank on the wildcard any more. And if we fire JM, who replaces him? We don't have very good candidates on the bench now.
-
Daubauch is one of those winter acquisitions that sounds good on paper. I also like the idea of him vs. Liefer. But my question is a.) why would Boston let him go if he's any good. Boston has money. b.) does anybody recall watching him playin person or on TV? Besides the stats, what do you think of what you've seen of him on TV? I can't recall him off the bat.
-
Obviously we all hope Crede has an incredible season. My question to you is ... what will Crede hit? I have absolutely no idea. Whomever knows Crede the best, give me his stats for this upcoming season. Also on another note: Will all of you be devastated if somehow we lose to the pathetic Royals on opening day or is anything possible in baseball and you won't be mad? I just think we need to sweet the amazingly bad Royals.

Great points Baggs. I never thought about the Sammy kid gloves treatment. Did Sammy really do all those things you said? I didn't know Sam had all those problems. I don't follow Chi. sports close enough since I've moved away, but has Sammy done all that stuff? Hey Baggs I respect your opinion. Tell me. how will our Chisox do this year? We have tons of question marks. Give me a position by position rundown.
