  1. I'm glad everybody recognizes the demolition of Comiskey was a sad day. i wish we kept old comiskey til we really needed a new park.
  2. I say if Borchard is playing better than Lee or Rowand play Borchard. If Lee or Rowand complain, then trade Lee or Rowand. We need to have guys who can produce. But why trade Lee at this point for minor leaguers? Like the one poster said, we don't need to do that right now.
  3. We are jacking around with Buehrle. It's a credit to him he hasn't blasted management more. Give him some frickin money. Even if he sucks completelyli this year for some reason, he deserves some cash.
  4. ,This may sound stupid. But I really don't want Griffey. I'd rather have Lee than Griffey. Griffey is one of the things wrong with baseball. Total primma donna.
  5. We needn't worry. We have enough studs on the team to put him in his place if he does anything stupid this year. We have some veteran stars and some young stars who have proven themselves. He won't act up on the White Sox. Koch will kick his ass or Daubach if he does. Or even Jose V or Paulie.

    Crede

YOu are right that one series doesn't matter, but the Royals are so horsecrap it'd be nice to beat KC and the Tigers in all but say four games this season.
  7. Great points by Baggs, especially "i hoipe he figures it out this year." I wonder how long we'll stick with him if we fall 8 games behind Minn by mid May or something stupid like that. We need to win the division. Too many good teams with money to bank on the wildcard any more. And if we fire JM, who replaces him? We don't have very good candidates on the bench now.
  8. Daubauch is one of those winter acquisitions that sounds good on paper. I also like the idea of him vs. Liefer. But my question is a.) why would Boston let him go if he's any good. Boston has money. b.) does anybody recall watching him playin person or on TV? Besides the stats, what do you think of what you've seen of him on TV? I can't recall him off the bat.

    Crede

Obviously we all hope Crede has an incredible season. My question to you is ... what will Crede hit? I have absolutely no idea. Whomever knows Crede the best, give me his stats for this upcoming season. Also on another note: Will all of you be devastated if somehow we lose to the pathetic Royals on opening day or is anything possible in baseball and you won't be mad? I just think we need to sweet the amazingly bad Royals.
  10. Great points Baggs. I never thought about the Sammy kid gloves treatment. Did Sammy really do all those things you said? I didn't know Sam had all those problems. I don't follow Chi. sports close enough since I've moved away, but has Sammy done all that stuff? Hey Baggs I respect your opinion. Tell me. how will our Chisox do this year? We have tons of question marks. Give me a position by position rundown.
  11. We really need a career year outta Jose V. With our 2B man to be a young guy and our 3B a young guy, we need our SS to be steady.

Hard to say about Kansas. KU was on a roll until Sunday when Oklahoma led by 32 before KU cut it to five late. It would have been the greatest comeback win in school history but OU won by 7. Falling behind by 32 is not a good sign for a team with Final Four/title aspirations even though Noble Center was rocking. Simien has a bum shoulder which is big. Because of a very thin bench couple with Simien's bad shoulder, coupled with the fact Kansas' starting point guard is very inconsistent, I don't think KU's Final Four chances look too promising. Like any team, the KU team is capable of getting hot come tourney time, clicking and making the Final Four.
  13. This should be an interesting season. We have some new guys like our new closer and Daubauch and Colon. I wonder if somebody will punch out Frank if he is a cancer this year. Frank is a good example of the bad side of MLB. I remember when he was a minor leaguer and poor, all the reports about Frank were so positive. He was funny and friendly and the media loved him. He got rich and pretty much has become an arrogant man. Too bad. Somebody said Frank should have just said, "I'm gonna tear the cover off the ball this year" and left the press conf. Frank's ego is too big however. I realize riches change about everybody, but it's sad the Big Hurt is a primma donna, which is what he is. That said I hope he hits .333 with 45 home runs.

I have mixed emotions about Frank. I don't mind Frank ripping management because we all rip management and know what an idiot Reinsdork is and also our GM. If he rips his teammates, however, that is a different story. I mean most of the Sox players probably realize what buffoons Reinsdork and Kenny are. They probably like Frank ripping those two buffoons. HOpefully Daubauch will make the team and be our heart and soul clubhouse kick ass guy and kick Frank's ass if Frank is a mope this season. I mean Frank can't even play in the NL cause he can't bend over to field a grounder. Frank should be a bit more humble for that reason alone. As far as Mariotti, I like his writing. It's easy to read, he makes his points and it's not boring. There's nothing worse than a boring columnist.
  15. I love Hawk and like DJ I loved Hawk and Wimpy. But I do like Hawk and DJ. Hawk is so easy to listen to in my opinion. I like the games you can tell they are in bad moods early in a 162 game season and they sort of rag on each other a bit.
  16. I love all posts on this board, but I wish we could forget Royce and let him go rot on his new team. This guy sucked, pure and simple. Nothing about Royce was good, except the fact he fielded well. I will give him that. His .005 batting average in April and May two seasons ago did us in.
  17. Lofton was disgracefully bad. I liked Ray for a time, but I agree with chisox fan, it was time for new blood regarding Ray. To get rid of Lofton, Clayton and Ray is pretty damn nice. I just wish we didn't have alomar.
  18. Garland has had some good games, ditto Wright. Both have shown so much of the p word, potential. So much potential we better not trade either one.
  19. You are simply wrong. Royce deserves all the bashing he gets. He completely sucked the first half of his first season in Chicago and ruined our team basically. We screwed with Valentin all for this stiff named Royce Clayton. He was an awful, awful, awful offensive player and was an ass in the clubhouse. I hope he hits .400 this year. I will still say I'm glad he's gone. The guy was a frickin stiff!!!!!!
  20. I'd start Mark B., but it's nice that Mark doesn't care. No controversy is good. It sounds like we'll have a better clubhouse this season. Hopefully the team will be a fun unit and actually battle all season.
  21. Play Olivo. He can't do any worse than some of the stiffs we've opened the season with under KW. Who was that outfielder that one year that went 1-for-30 or so. I forget his name, but he was such a stiff.
  22. greg775

    Olivo

good story. we sure need this guy to produce. I just do not like Sandy and hope he doesn't have to catch much.
  23. I think Frank will do well, but he was so clueless at the plate at times last year. He was lost. We definitely need a star season from Frank
  24. Screw Griffey. No way I make that trade. Maggs should be here the next 15 years.
  25. Good post Big Hurt. It's wild that you didn't think anything about it being bad til you heard the radio complaints. I have a good friend who goes to a lot of games who insists Sox Park is not bad at all. He said he had wonderful seats in the low part of the upper deck. He likes Cell park a lot. I've seen a couple games there since I live in KC area now, but unfortunately for me I had to watch them in the skyboxes on each occasion. I have the plastic-ness of skyboxes. Put me in the stands of old Comiskey!
