  1. the twins are not lousy. Are they really gonna have an overhaul? That would be nice. We could use Jacque J., Guzman and others.
  2. The problem is pitchers cost so much damn money. When are teams like the Red Sox, Mets, Rangers, whomever have overspent gonna realize you don't need to keep paying megabucks for flop players? Pitchers are way overpriced. Their arms can blow out anyday. Can you say Wilson Alvarez? Alex Fernandez? Why do these owners just throw away money?
  3. We've got to win the division to make the playoffs. We ain't gonna be the wildcard. Too many teams better than us.
  4. I've always stood by Jose V while ripping the dog, Royce. Jose V played short the year we won the division by 20 games. Since they moved him we've sucked. He hasn't complained much. I think we need some vets to go with the youngsters and he is one of em.
  5. good line about kw. don't fret. sometimes it's refreshing to start from fresh. All posts are new; that's ok by me.
  6. QUESTIION: L:et's say in the land of make believe, the Twins also had sucked this year and we somehow won the division playing let's say five games over .500. My question is ... had the Twins sucked and had we won this division, would our CURRENT team have a chance to win it all because of the way we are playing? I say, possibly. We currently are getting great hitting from Maggs. Frank is actually knocking in runs and nearing 30 hrs. Paul is still looking good. Crede has been clutch. Rowand has been delightful in cf. Olivo looks good at c. Harris and Jimenez have some speed to make other teams take notice. Pitching wise, Mark B, Garland and Wright have been great of late, racking up wins. Our set up and closing has been good. And our defense is still pretty bad on paper, but has not been abysmal. throw in the fact our young guys might be so young they do not feel the pressure, would we have won it all? Remember how well Saberhagen pitched years ago when he was 21 years old in the postseason for the Royals? Or would our young talent simple freeze up and we'd have gotten swept in the first playoff series?? I am just wondering. We are awfully hot now and wondering what would happen if this team right now made the playoffs.
  7. I'd still rather have Schu than KW. I bet Schu realizes KW is a joke. If I wasn't so lazy, however, I'd make a list of all KW's deals. With some of these young guys looking pretty good, maybe he is learning by doing. We can only hope.
  8. Buehrle someone KW calls a top pitcher Garland Ritchie WrightRauch. Great post. I say it's Mark B (what a talent; i love this guy) Parque (just kidding) I shall continue Mark B Garland (sure hope he continues on what he's done late in this season) New veteran who is not ultra expensive (byrd, bere , stottlemyre (yuK on todd) Wright Rauch I hope ritchie is gone forever or at least out of the starting five. We sure could use another lefty so we could go lefty, righty, righty, lefty, righty. Should be interesting. It'd be awesome if Rauch, Garland, Wright and Mark B developed and were awesome for years to come. They certainly have potential. What we should do is go out and hire the best pitching coach alive. Seriously. These guys all are ultra young and have talent. Who would'nt want to work with them.
