  1. Not sure we are allowed to speak on this topic (politics a no no). Without being partisan or meaning to cause a hurricane, it's kind of shocking to me that Republicans agreed to debate with the rules put forth by CNN. Kinda stacked against Donny IMO (greg ducks for cover). Seriously if mods think I'm starting an explosion kill this now! I won't be offended.
  2. That's about the most unlikely win of the season. Sale-led Braves allow only one run and they can't score off four relievers after a starter named Kuhl?? Sox don't get through many games with that scenario. Four measley hits. The one bomb. Braves should be ashamed. That's one they can't let get away.
  3. Like Caulfield said, Robert is over .200! Hard to believe a guy with that talent was under .200. I think it shows his lack of discipline. It's obvious he's trying to jack a homer every time up, never draws a walk. He needs to fall in love with line drive doubles to the gap as well as HRs.
  4. What happened? Soft tissue or did he get nailed in the elbow with a pitch or something?
  5. My guy Tommy Pham appears to have holes in his bat suddenly. Alas he also prolly has lost interest.
  6. Sox are back to almost everybody in the lineup not hitting at all. Four hits?? LOL. That's truly pathetic in this day and age of lift and pull. Sox can't hit.
  7. Very good column/story. I read the whole thing and he looked up a lot of facts. Curious to not at least mention Jerry and some others. Only names he mentioned were the announcers and some players. Yeah the Sox stink and we longtime fans are hurting/suffering.
  8. I love the way we are all so realistically negative about our Sox. The peeps on this board would have to be considered in the top 5 percent of Sox fans since we care enuf to talk about them every day instead of a complete divorce from them. And all of the top 5 percent cept for maybe one person or two on here are very very negative about the team. Jerry should be very very embarrassed. You are not fooling anybody Jerry. The fans know your organization is one of the worst.
  9. I'm no Beni fan, but I'd think a high dollar team in dire need of an outfielder would consider taking him off our hands if the Sox paid say 1/3 of his salary? That said I don't want to disparage him after a HR. Nice hit, Beni. Just am not a huge fan but am a huge fan of that at bat.
  10. Not true regarding me. I want him back cause our team is so boring and awful I think it'd be hilariously entertaining if he came back. I also was a Ditka fan.
  11. Seems to me Fedde is a perfect No. 4 or 5 for a team like the Sox. Is he really gonna command 20 mill a season in the next deal he signs with somebody? He makes 7.5 a year for two years. Perfect type guy for our cheap front office.
  12. How bizarre people can have such different views on how to build a team. I disagree with most of you 100 percent.
  13. Let's revisit this when we trade the Fedde's of this team. See what the Sox get in return. Prolly some 15th round type guy who went to Auburn and some pitching prospect from the 17th round who went to Vandy. Big deal.
  14. But what will a highest value Fedde bring? Somebody like a Scott Fletcher. He's not going to bring anybody useful to a tank/rebuild situation. And considering we'll need a Fedde or two to find for next year's club it makes zero sense.
  15. What is Fedde going to bring that is more valuable than Fedde? He's a nice find who can help the team the next 3-4 years. But instead we trade him for some player who resembles Fedde: affordable but just OK, like a Scott Fletcher type. Sad we can't just keep him when we are gonna need Fedde's on next year's roster anyway.
  16. I understand all your guys' positions re. trading Fedde. As a "sports fan" I'll just accept your reasoning but I still can be a little sad that the Sox bring in a guy who turned his career around in Korea but refuse to keep him on the team for years to come even though he'll be one of our stout rotational pieces for 3-4 years. Very sad we can't do that these days. We trade the poor guy who is comfy in Chicago making a comeback. he'll prolly stink at his next venue. Sad the Sox can't just keep the nice find in Fedde.
  17. Interesting position you have here. So we are assuming LaRussa is a clown in this scenario and anybody could win with the A's teams. So are we to believe Pedro or Bevington could have led those teams to titles? My contention is Tony was exceptional for about a 30-year span.
  18. True, but until his DUI atrocities, LaRussa had the last laugh. He had a Hall of Fame career.
  19. Yeah I got in many fights on the board standing up for LaRussa.
  20. JR deserves all the blame. Hahn is next in line. He concocted the "tank." The alleged difference makers acquired during the tank get hurt a lot. So he should have at the very least improved the medical/training staff if he was gonna acquire injury list wannabees.
  21. Except for the DUI stuff I liked the hiring at the time. Hall of Famer comes back to the team that never should have fired him when he was a kid manager. Thought he could in Hollywood fashion lead us to glory. From what I've read he is such an unlikeable guy, combined with his breaking the law, you are right he should never have been hired.
  22. Royals are high on Leasure allegedly and always need an outfielder. How bout Leasure and Beni for Massey and some prospect? Then DFA Lopez or ship him to a contender that needs a veteran presence once a week?
  23. That doesn't make sense except for the fact JR won't pay to extend Crochet or pay Robert and his .198 BA. ... BTW what GM is gonna trade for Crochet IF his innings are to be limited the rest of the way? Contending teams are worried about NOW not trading for Crochet cause he'll be good next year. If he can't pitch much more why tease a fan base acquiring a guy who is unable to take the mound in September/October. Teams aren't going to buy into that B.S.
