  1. Why would he even return after 6 weeks? Shut him down for the season. The team is hopelessly out of it. Put him on ice until he redefines his body. This guy has to be one of the most injured players in baseball history. Cubs were smart to get rid of him.
  2. Is he one of the most overpaid players in baseball history? One of the most disappointing?
  3. Eloy must love the offseason when he's not hurt. Is his only hope for the future in the game to lose 60 pounds and just reinvent his body? I mean he's done, finished. He can't stay healthy for more than 10 games or so at a time. He's so tall he needs to turn into a lean machine, a Claudell Washington body type. I tell u he should never play another game in a Sox uniform. Just get rid of him.
  4. Just watched the last play and listened to Stoney. Ridiculous call by the umps. Somebody should be disciplined on that ump crew. I noticed the home plate ump called it right away just fraction of a second before the second base ump. There wasn't a shove, a push, nothing from Vaughn. Very weird. Other than that, our first two pitchers stunk so we lost.
  5. It amazes me how Little League, high school, American Legion and college pitchers basically have no pitch count (they pitch these guys til the win is assured in the ninth) but in the bigs pitchers can't go more than 100 pitches. It sickens me personally. Only way you can throw a no hitter nowadays is to somehow have a micro low pitch count. Managers can't stand to see a guy go more than 7 for sure. I wonder how many complete games have been thrown this season so far and last season.
  6. The Jays hitters will be full of confidence going into that one. I watched the highlights. Boom he gave up some solid hits.
  7. What's up with the Cubs offense? Lot of batting averages dipping to the .250 range. U think their manager is in jeopardy if this continues?
  8. Could u folks tell me what was the problem tonight with Pastrami, I mean Nastrani? Why did he get absolutely torched?
  9. I like bringing up DeLoach to go with DeJong. Can somebody tell me in layman's terms why I should be excited bout DeLoach? Is he good? And Nastrini which reminds me of Pastrami. What's his quick story. He got absolutely torched today. Is he any good? Did u guys like the trades in which we got DeLoach and Nastrini? Thanx in advance.
  10. You guys laugh at me but I said all along they shoulda had Dave Winfield or even Jermaine Dye consult Eloy on baserunning, stretching etc. Similar bodies without these problems.
  11. I wonder if Eloy's health problems will continue on his next team. Nobody will trade for him but somebody will sign him for the minimum when his Sox contract runs out. Maybe the Sox will just release him. He's old news. He's finished. Or if not finished the Sox can play this charade of him playing 2-3 weeks then getting hurt til his contract expires. Eloy you are such a disappointment sir.
  12. First of all, great win. Crochet is an all star obviously. Mendick is an MLB player. This is how the Sox had been playing when they were on that 8-6 stretch. Why do you guys want to trade everybody who has a pulse on the Sox? Do u really think it'll accomplish anything except guarantee another 4-20 April next season or worse? You tank lovers/trade lovers just slay me. Don't understand it when you know this strategy didn't work before.
  13. Crochet is so good it's insane. Wonder if the bullpen will hold the fort tonight.
  14. I don't know about that Lipman. Hope you are right actually. I just envision the Sox as an MLB afterthought more than a big moneymaker considering our club's ineptitude. A new stadium, if it's a palace, would assure the Sox a place in MLB forever I'd think. Sox need to make this work with the Bears, let the Cubs be off on their own. It's funny to me how the Arlington Heights thing disappeared even with the Sox owning land out there. Seemed inevitable the Sox would move to suburbia someday.
  15. Did the radio shows support we fans who thought the new play by play guy was ripping the fan "haters?" I'll admit I'm a huge hater and don't need to be called out by Schiffren. Anybody with any knowledge of baseball saw our lineup and pitching staff weren't just mediocre or a little bad, but historically bad.
  16. Beni is a sub par hitter. He's a 3 out of 10 and that's being nice.
  17. I don't know why they'd even ask about the fans. Nobody could be expected to pay to watch this crap more than once a season. Of course Sox fans know the game of baseball. Dumb topic. A team this bad doesn't deserve more than 10,000 a night.
  18. When Jerry dies I wouldn't be surprised if baseball contracts the White Sox and grants an expansion team to somebody. Quite frankly which demographics would miss the White Sox? With the team looking like an unmitigated disaster for years to come, I don't think many people would cause a stink if baseball contracted the Sox and let another city have a team. The neighborhood of Comiskey isn't going to be affected. And Chicago has the Cubs which has an entirely different fanbase. The Sox don't have many fans and the ones they do have are miserable anyway over this inept franchise. I wonder if the legislature saves the day with the Sox included in the Bears stadium area plans. They could save the day if they build a baseball palace.
  19. Yep, those days are over of 'combat' sports writing. Teams have won that war. Most outlets are full of young kids (not all, but most) especially mlb.com and they don't have the knowledge or clout to fire away at managers, owners, etc. Sox beat still has some veteran reporters like Sullivan, etc. I believe but it's a different era. Short stories designed to get clicks and not much of the old fashioned ripping of the team.
  20. I think he may be 'fibbing.' I know the Royals fans and their broadcasters were not mocking the Sox but acting like the Sox were a real team to justify KC excitement over winning 6 of 7 vs. Chicago. Ditto the Twins announcers that one game I heard on the radio. They were lamenting how good the Sox were in the 60s when the announcer was a kid. ... That's OK. He came up with a good explanation. All forgiven.
  21. And yes batting Vaughn second is a fireable offense even with few lineup options to consider.
  22. If we lose 10-13 in a row we could be back to hoping Pedro gets the proverbial axe. Like I said 'excitement' from the Pham/Ramos/Mendick/Clevinger additions and DeJong/Lee revival is pretty much gone. Sox need to do something to get the .460 juices rolling again not the lose 8-9 of every 10 juices.
  23. Man, Sox are back in the dregs of the league category. Well we rode Pham's hot streak for a while. Time to rest him two games a week. Vaughn after that two HR game is back in the tank. DeJong busts loose. We pretty much got raced by a better team. Sox are 4-20 on the road which is almost an automatic loss every night. 10-14 at home not gawd awful. Looks like we've come down to earth after the 8-6 run; should be interesting. All facets of the game are currently failing, especially the hitting.
  24. Playoffs? OMG. An historically bad season is still in play. A merely embarrassing season (106 losses) is still in play. Playoffs are not in play!
  25. Thank goodness. Acquiring him is a HUGE fireable offense. Getz should be truly embarrassed thinking this guy should be on the roster. Thank gawd he gawn.
