  1. I actually did turn the volume off and just watched the game. I seriously cannot handle Beckham's non-stop annoying talk. He literally is blabbing until the pitch is thrown, I would even imagine Jason must not like it either, because I've noticed Jason gets less time to talk vs. when he is with Stone.
  2. Ok let's see, Verlander is an 40 year old smart veteran pitcher. He knows he can't rely on his fastball domination like many years ago, but he sure can rely on very active sliders and curve balls to mix in, what is still a decent 4-seam fastball. That seems like a smart game plan against the Sox, knowing they sometimes can be a tad impatient and free swingers. I hate to say this, but this could be another huge day for Sox batters getting K's. Let's hope they are smart and patient tonight and prove me wrong.
  3. Wow, interesting and very telling article. Once again nobody should be surprised on why Jerry and his front office losers keep destroying this franchise.
  4. I've never seen a guy babble more in the booth. It's painful to listen to. I do like Scotty Pods as an option.
  5. I don't want a total rebuild under this front office. However if Jerry woke up and shocked the world and fired all the losers in the dysfunctional front office. Then for once he did the smart thing and went to the outside and hired some hot shot young modern day GM from an organization that knows how to build a winning organization from the farm system to the major league level, then I could live with another total rebuild. However only with that scenario would I want a total rebuild and absolutely not with anyone from this loser front office. This FO did a massive trainwreck on the 2016 rebuild and they don't deserve a second shot at Sox rebuild 2.0. Sadly I know this will never happen until Jerry is gone and the new owner comes in. Thus until Jerry is gone, we continue to be loyal die-hard fcuked fans due to Jerry's uncaring and stubborn loser approach. Thank you Jerry...may we have another!
  6. Yes Ethan Holliday would be a stud in the 2025 draft. However he might end up playing for Oklahoma State where he accepted a scholarship. It's important to note his dad Matt Holiday, the former 7 time all-star played at Oklahoma State before entering the draft. Plus Ethan's uncle Josh Holliday is the current head coach of the Oklahoma State baseball team. Although it's important to note that Ethan's older brother Jackson, also had a baseball scholarship to Oklahoma State and was drafted overall #1 by the Orioles in 2022. His brother passed on college and is currently playing at their Baltimore low A club.
  7. You're right Cease does it too and they are both by design, or that is how they learned on their own at a young age. However I personally don't think it maximizes the best delivery results for either of them. I recall Mark Buehrle and Chris sale both had deliveries where the off leg got planted squarely. Nolan Ryan also was another great pitcher that had a very smooth delivery where both feet firming planted on the ground after the pitch was released. I get both Cease and Gio probably don't or won't change their delivery, but I'm not convinced it's the best one for them. Just my opinion.
  8. Plus if the Cards did luck out for #1, the fact is they have a very good farm system already at #9 in the last Baseball America rankings. They have been a successful organization for too long and I fully expect them to get back to their winning ways in 2024 and beyond.
  9. Please no Beckham as the replacement. The day Beckham does full time color in the TV booth, I will listen to the radio or turn the volume off. He is absolutely the worst and for now I'm fine with Steve Stone. If anything, I would like Benetti replaced, because he has become quite annoying also.
  10. Let's go for it. Maybe the Sox can get lucky like the Blackhawks just did and like the Bulls did during two previous drafts. It would be the 3rd time the Sox had the #1 overall pick in MLB draft history.
  11. I agree with you. His leg should be planting down for leverage and not kicking forward like a karate kick. It's weird but I noticed Gio's leg kick more pronounced last night than in the past with his leg. Then again, that is the weakness of this manager and his coaching staff. Watch when Gio goes to another good team like the Rays, or Dodgers and they they tweak a few things with his mechanics...and you will be seeing a much improved pitcher.
  12. I would totally agree with to unload these two stars along with everyone else, but only if Rick Hahn can't be doing it. I would rather wait until next season and hope Hahn is gone. This is why Hahn needs to be gone and the replacement can't be from inside this inept front office. Reinsdorf must once and for all go recruit a young modern day executive from one of the successful teams in baseball that knows how to build a farm system and make the playoffs each year. They are out there and Jerry just needs to get off his stubborn (not working) loyal blindness.
  13. The sad fact is, none of us here should have to argue about the state of the Sox farm system, if only our loser owner would do something about this horrible front office and go hire some young up and coming stud executive from A winning organization like the Dodgers, Rays, Guardians, etc. who know how to build a successful and productive farm system yearly.
  14. You're absolutely right and this will never change while Rick Hahn is the GM and probably even until Reinsdorf is gone.
  15. I'm so sorry, My bad. I used the term "few" which can mean two and where I should have in fact said TWO! Btw, one of the many definitions of the word "few" is a small number and can be used for designate two. But for your clarification, I was referring to the last two years. Additionally whether it was two or three years, it doesn't matter. That is too many years in a row and is absolutely why the Sox are screwed for the next few years.
  16. Pretty sad reality of how weak the Sox roster is when our DH threat is Grandal.
  17. Read my post again. I didn't say it was bad for years. Yes it's the last two years 29th in 2022 and 26th 2023. My point was the Dodgers and Rays and other great consistent teams have been good in the top 5-10 farm systems every year for the past 10 years. If you have great scouts, great drafting and solid player development coaches in the minors, than you shouldn't need to fall off so dramatically like the Sox did.
  18. That's a great point we sometimes forget. The best Sox players recently have been prospects we traded for that were drafted by other clubs like Cease, Dunning and Giolito, The only recent Sox prospects developed by the Sox were Robert and Anderson. Even the ones like Moncada and Eloy we traded for can't even stay healthy.
  19. Of course it's based on the recent results. Baseball teams don't sustain greatness living off past years results. The Dodgers and Rays are two of the better teams in baseball because every year they develop talent and never let it get bad like the Sox did.
  20. Montgomery and Schultz are great prospects but they are not why the Sox are 29th or 26th by Baseball America. You have to include all levels. Schultz is great but only at low A Kannapolis. Montgomery is also great but only at high A Winston Salem. Where the Sox are bad compared to the strong farm systems, is how weak the Sox are with the AA Barons and AAA Knights.
  21. This Sox farm has been bad for a few years now, It is why they have such a horrible roster and losing record. Maybe we're playing semantics here, but if it's not a "trash" farm, let's call it a very poor farm system that will not have much help for now or in 2024.
  22. Wow, love how you twist and turn things around. I was doing the Google search only to see if Baseball America had done an update to the last one. Again I'm agreeing with you and we can go by Baseball America. New flash, they are #26 by BA. yeah you're right a huge improvement over #29. I'm glad there are such baseball gurus like yourself to straighten me out. LMAO!
  23. I never said I liked to read Bleacher Report. You just put words in my mouth. Actually I have rarely read anything from them. I did a google search on MLB updated farm system rankings and the Bleacher Report ranking came up. You can do the same and see what pulls up. Again what you are missing is, even if it's not the most creditable source, it's fairly close to Baseball America which seems to be the official creditable source by everyone here. You can search all you want and you will not find any baseball site who has the Sox ranked past 26. If you don't like it than blame your POS GM Rick Hahn
