  1. Actually the Braves lost 2 of 3 to the A's and were not swept. That was also on the road. The Braves have the best record in baseball at 60-29 of which they are 30-15 at home. The Sox are 38-54 and 17-29 on the road. The Braves are 20-3 in the last 23 games.
  2. I appreciate your side of this. I think you can find some excellent journalism for free. I agree sometimes the paid articles can also be good. However as I stated, I personally and that's just me, am not willing to pay money for the basic principle of it. It's basic information that I can find at many other sites.
  3. The half year he was here for us he actually pitched really well.
  4. I didn't know that much detail other than what we heard from the general media at the time. To be fair, your info would have never hit the main stream fans. I do appreciate your side of it. Just another example of what a Fcuked up POS Reinsdorf really is. It's really sad and pathetic of this crap organization, because it sounds like he really wanted to remain the Sox manager.
  5. I agree with you. I think there is a team who will feel they can turn TA around just like recently when the Rays fixed Diekman. Let's face it, TA had four straight seasons hitting over .300 before 2023. With all the chaos and dysfunction with the Sox, I am sure a quality org like the Dodgers or Rays can assume they can fix TA because they know how Fcuked up the Sox are. The good teams know they have the better coaching, players and winning culture for TA to turn him around. Yet if you role the dice assuming TA turns it around in 2024 and then he sucks again, then at the 2024 deadline, there will be few buyers, or buyers only willing to trade crap away...because now the verdict on TA will be...he is really mentally screwed up and it's more than just mechanics we need to fix.
  6. I agree totally on your premise, so I assume you are saying it makes sense to trade TA now at the 2023 deadline as opposed to waiting and hope he bounces back in 2024?
  7. It's not weird. You're missing my point. I have no problem with someone letting us know about some new prospect ranking or any other valuable Sox news, but it's the part about where a link is posted as if, here is the site and go read the info for yourself. Then you waste time going to the site and it's a pay to see site. I was just suggesting it would be better if posters would state there is an article from a particular site...in this case Baseball America that has two of our Sox prospects moving up on the list. However keep in mind unless your a BA subscriber you won't be able to see it. Having said my stance I really don't give a sh$t going forward and everyone can continue post pay sites and you won't a hear a word from me ever again when they are posted. In hindsight I shouldn't have aired my Pet Peeve about these sites that charge money. It won't happen again. I will just make a mental note to check BA along with the Sun Times, Tribune and The Athletic.
  8. The train has left the tracks.
  9. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/news/tim-anderson-intent-on-improving-after-difficult-first-half-of-season Blah Blah Blah!
  10. Thanks for posting this information. This summarizes just a portion of this dysfunctional FO which is on a nightmare trainwreck. *Jake Diekman was brought up. Garfein said he was told by a source that Diekman talked to and that the reason for his turn around in Tampa is because (according to Diekman) "he now has a catcher that he trusts.” The Diekman comment is seriously disturbing. They need to move the POS Grandal at the deadline regardless of what we get back. Sounds like a major fix to get Sox pitchers fixed or better is to get rid of Katz and Grandal. LMAO!
  11. Fair enough! Anyway there are plenty of lists out there that don't coast money.
  12. That's fine with me and that's fair. I would suggest though in the future, we don't post articles of websites that the many of people here don't subscribe to. I have plenty of money and if I wanted to subscribe to these various sports sites, I easily could. I don't subscribe to any of them for the pure principle of it. I refuse to pay for sports information I can go search and find at another free sports site.
  13. Evidently if you don't have a subscription to Baseball America, you can't view the list. Can you please copy and paste the list for us?
  14. He was very good. Hindsight being 20-20, he obviously left the Sox too soon. He only stayed three seasons with the Sox and won the AL Manager of the Year in 1990 wining 94 games and improving from the previous year from 69 wins when he first took over the team. Sadly because Jerry was a cheap owner, he was only making 250,000 a year and the NY Mets offered Torborg a 1.7 million contract over 4 years which was pretty close to doubling his Sox salary. Unfortunately for Torborg, the Mets gig didn't go well and early into his 3rd season (1993) he was fired, while his former Sox team finished 94-68 that year. Can you imagine the conversation when Torborg told Jerry he was leaving for the Mets. Jerry probably replied, "You have gone 181-143 over the last two years for us and you expect me to give you a raise close to $425,000 a year?" "Nah, that's too steep for me." I do love going down memory lane and reminding myself what a dumbsh*t Jerry has always been. Our genius owner who thinks he is so much smarter than the other owners.
  15. He was a player then. Now he would be a manager. He doesn't need to relate to the players and be their buddy. He simply needs instill a positive culture where they play hard and respect him. This is something Grifol promised in his press conference when hired, which he clearly has proven he had no clue how to create in the clubhouse, dugout and especially on the field. If it's not AJ then fine, but the next Sox manager needs to have some toughness and fire and a resume of success to create the right winning culture and respect.
  16. Even before his speech the little background tribute they did showing him in the hospital was also special. I just hope these FO clowns don't rush him back again. We aren't going anywhere, so I really don't care if Liam doesn't pitch anymore this season. Let him have the rest of the season and the off-season to totally get back to 100 percent. Then hopefully we can have the old dominant Liam back in 2024.
  17. They totally do. As in: Joe Torre Mike Scioscia Joe Girardi Bruce Bochy Bob Melvin Our own Gene Lamont & Al Lopez Found these interesting stats on what positions have won the most WS titles. Catchers: 13 different managers (won 23 titles) Second Basemen: 10 different managers (won 18 titles) First Basemen: 8 different managers (won 14 titles) Left Fielders: 6 different managers (won 7 titles) Third Basemen: 5 different managers (won 8 titles) Pitchers: 5 different managers (won 6 titles) Shortstops: 5 different managers (won 5 titles) Right Fielders: 4 different managers (won 11 titles) Center Fielders: 3 different managers (won 4 titles)
  18. I would love AJ for the interim. At least there is a chance he could clean up the lifelessness and toxic culture.
  19. The rebuild and championship window wouldn't be over, if most of the Sox players had Liam's heart and mindset. I love the part when they interviewed Liam's wife and she said, "not one time did Liam ever say, why me!"
