  1. June 20, 1986 - In what he admitted was one of the biggest mistakes he’d ever made, Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf approved the firing of manager Tony LaRussa. No Jerry, that wasn't the mistake. The mistake was, you being an spineless and inept owner and not telling Hawk Harrelson, that there would be no way in hell you would allow LaRussa to be fired. It's a comical joke you claiming it was one of your biggest mistakes and you regretted letting LaRussa be fired in 1986. The fact is, if you truly regretted it, then like most people who regret making horrible mistakes, you would hopefully learn from that mistake and not make it again. Yet Jerry...just 13 years later you were faced with the same decision and you let your Bulls GM Jerry Krause fire Phil Jackson and force out Michael Jordan.
  2. I do agree with your point that Burger would be better suited at first base than Vaughn. I think it's fair they wait another year and maybe Vaughn makes some big improvements with his power numbers and run production. The manner in which so many talented players leave the Sox and go on to other teams and have more success, wouldn't shock me at all, if Vaughn became a more productive player on some other team.
  3. Yes I know that playoff seeding rule. My bad, I phrased my comment wrong. I was trying to say, relative to best chances to win the World Series. What I should have said and would be a fact is, the Sox would be the worst team in the field.
  4. Ahh, but Kenny told us he did care. He said there was definitely "accountability" in his front office. ?
  5. Evidently this type of information must never get to our genius owner, who of course is so much smarter than his other owner colleagues. If you don't believe it, just ask him!
  6. That might be a solid argument if the Sox were in a stronger division. The winner of the Central division has no respect from the betting sportsbooks. Currently as of today, the odds to win the 2023 World Series from BetRivers: Braves +475 Dodgers +525 Rays +550 Astros +625 Rangers +1200 Yankees +1400 Blue Jays +1600 Padres +2100 Twins +2200 White Sox +15000 Ok so the Sox got hot and won the Central, they would still be the last seeded team in the playoffs and worst odds of teams to win the World Series. It's absolutely not worth losing out on being sellers at the trade deadline and attempting to improve this horrible baseball roster.
  7. Hahn needs to be fired ASAP and should not be around for any involvement at the trade deadline. This is horribly flawed roster in terms of plate discipline, basic hitting fundamentals and situational 101 baseball hitting. By all metrics, stats and modern day baseball philosophies, in how to put together a winning baseball team, our front office has absolutely failed miserably in roster construction in both the big league and minor league levels. This is becoming a joke between the coaches not working enough with the players and the players being too stubborn and/or stupid to make adjustments. Here are some disturbing facts on how pathetic our plate discipline is this season: Pitches per AB - 30th Walks - 30th 3-0 counts seen - 30th 2-0 counts seen - 30th 0-Swing % - 29th - Note: we have been 30th most of the season. Obviously there is no clear organizational blueprint from the top (Hahn) to all his directors in charge of scouting, coaching, and developing talent. This organization has no clue in what type of pitcher and position player to scout and draft into their farm system. Even if they do occasionally get lucky and find some talent, inevitably the Sox coaches will not properly develop those prospects. Furthermore, even if they get lucky and develop them into solid prospects, they will trade them away and watch them become stars at other teams, or destroy their potential at the major league level. Bases on all grades and factors for a GM, Hahn has an F grade over the past 11 years based on: - An overall record since his first year as GM from 2013-2023 at W-L 753-892. - 27th worst record in those 11 years. - Only two playoff appeances with zero playoff wins. - One of the worst ranked farm systems. - Horrible free agent signings. - Constantly fleeced on trades. - The Hahn era must end. He destroyed the 2016 rebuild. He shouldn't get a second chance at anymore trade deadlines or another Rebuild 2.0 if that occurs. In no other sport or under any other owner, could a GM have these horrendous results and still be employed...unless of course, the owner is the all-time worst owner Jerry Reinsdorf. The absurd joke of it all is, this POS owner has arrogantly said how dumb these other owners are compared to his genius level. However the other dumb owners seem to be crushing him in Wins, playoff appeances and total revenue/profit in the third largest market in sports.
  8. Are you f'ing kidding me? "You don't have the answer in all candor." My god, you put this shitty flawed roster together, as well as hiring the loser manager Grifol. Why the f*$k don't you have some answers? You are paid millions to have the damn answer. Your fans deserve more than your constant arrogant and condescending excuses.
  9. It wouldn't do any good. The POS Hahn would just do his typical excuse after excuse comments: "Nobody is more upset than me about this than me.: "We know this team we put together is very talented and capable of so much more." "This is not on Pedro as he is doing is doing a good job for us." "I still think we can win the Central" We've just had some bad breaks and things could easily start turning around in our favor."
  10. You mean Vaughn isn't your classic #2 hitter in a lineup? ?
  11. I hope once Reylo is gone, he ends up on a team that has the proper coaching to correct his physical and mental flaws to make him a good pitcher. If that happens, then we will once again have further documentation of how horrible this organization is in developing pitchers and position players.
  12. Plus when your team ERA is 4.51, it's almost a given you won't win very often with that anemic offensive output.
  13. This is absolutely hilarious that Pedro even suggested talking to Jerry. The irony is Jerry is so removed and uncaring about this team...so what would be the point in wasting time even talking to POS Jerry. This organization just keeps finding new ways to become even more dysfunctional and unlikeable.
  14. Let's go back to the original Pedro Grifol press conference, when Rick Hahn announced Pedro as the new White Sox Manager. This is a long 55 minute video, so I'm not expecting you to listen to the entire video. However I have listed some of the pertinent points to listen to, that will clearly illustrate the disconnect between Pedro's assertions to the reality of what actually has transpired under his watch: 1. 13:39-14:41 - After Hahn introduces Pedro as his new manager, the opening comments from Pedro before the media Q & A starts. 2. 17:14-17:59 - Question #2 from media to Pedro 3. 19:38-20:28 - Question #3 from media to Pedro 4, 21:05-23:10 - Question #4 from media to both Hahn & Pedro 5. 23:12-24:32 - Question #5 from media to Pedro Enjoy!
  15. Wow, we need to go to AA. Yeah I guess when you have the 26th ranked farm system and 29th the previous year, you make these kind of decisions. Thanks again Rick Hahn for doing such a great job of getting the farm system ready to help out during injuries at the Sox major league level.
  16. I'm glad Lynn made the change and you were right on. I just wonder how that came about. I doubt it came from Katz because I think he has proven to be worthless. Was it either Lynn figuring it out by himself, or maybe the other starters sharing their thoughts to him. I do notice the starters always are sitting in the dugout next to each other and always talking.
  17. I will agree with you Ricky was a good leader and motivator. In hindsight, all Ricky needed was to have a stronger coaching staff around him. The staff around him was bad. Oh how things might have gone differently if they kept Ricky. Three years later and we have never seen this team play with any heart, enthusiasm or 100% max effort.
  18. You're right and this "lifeless" team is not what Grifol promised us! Grifol promised the fans and media that this team would play with 100% max effort.
  19. That was our genius group of scouts and the other losers in the FO, that convinced Hahn how important it was to use the #3 overall pick to take Vaughn. I know Vaughn's last two years in college were big, but he was a slow first baseman and average defender even in college. As it's been mentioned numerous times, why the F*^K did Hahn need to draft another slow first baseman, with average at best defense...when we already had Abreu and Sheets on the roster?
  20. Great point and so did his own KC team when they hired the Rays bench coach Matt Quatraro as their new manager.
