  1. You're right this team has been a selfish and poor fundamental and situational hitting team. Yes the players are partly responsible for being really dumb players, but more of the blame is on this pathetic manager and coaching staff that is not covering these fundamentals and situational baseball skills repetitively.
  2. I agree with you on all your points. However that is why once again Rick Hahn and his dysfunctional FO made a horrible decision not keeping Crochet down at Charlotte to finish the season there, or least stay down there longer to be stretched it out and improved properly. The two most important things we should have been working on with Crochet in Charlotte were: 1. Stretching him out to be a starter. Building up his strength more and not rushing him up. 2. Helping him develop another couple of pitches, as well as refining his once explosive fastball and slider, which have fallen off dramatically. The Sox weren't going to be good this year and the bottom line is, the #1 draft pick and the potential of a future quality starter, should have been taken more seriously with a specific detailed plan to further develop both his strength and quality of multiple pitches for him to use.
  3. Great post and one of the best this year!! This is exactly the problem in the Sox organization and what we all hope will change someday with a new owner and front office.
  4. Ideally I would like the team be sold to an outside mega billionaire or mega rich corporation of owners. In fact that is exactly what I suspect will happen. However having Michael Reinsdorf take over would be fine with me. I stated this in several other posts, wishing Jerry would walk away from the Sox and let his son Michael run the White Sox like he did the Bulls. At least if Michael took over the Sox in the next couple of years, at least we wouldn't be so frustrated waiting for the Jerry "Will" to be executed. The fact is, when Michael took over the Bulls, the first thing he did was clean house in the front office of the horrible Gar/PAX combo. He did not promote within from the Bulls to select from the other losers in the Bulls organization. Instead he went outside the organization and recruited away Arturas Karnisovas the successful GM from the Denver Nuggets and made him the Executive VP of the Bulls. In the time Arturas was at Denver, he drafted the top 5 scorers and players from this year's Nugget's NBA championship team, including Nikola Jokic. The fact Michael thinks the smart way and understands to go recruit the top executives from outside the organization, let's me believe he would try the same approach and go try to find an Andrew Freidman type young successful GM, like the Dodgers did stealing Friedman from the Tampa Bay Rays. Michael Reinsdorf hasn't won a NBA championship yet, but he is doing a much better job improving the Bulls than his loser dad did. H sure couldn't do any worse than his dad. Unfortunately for Michael Reinsdorf, he hasn't been as fortunate yet like his father was back in 1984, when he lucked out that the Portland Trailblazers made the all-time draft blunder and drafted Sam Bowie #2 instead of taking the greatest athlete of all-time in Michael Jordan. MJ is the only reason Jerry has 6 NBA championships and nothing to do with Jerry being some brilliant and genius owner.
  5. - Nationwide Jingle - Sox Math - Benetti and Stone eating food while doing the game. - Anytime Gordon Beckham is in the booth. - Jason when he decides to ramble and talk too much, because he thinks he is the main reason you are tuning in to listen to him. as opposed to tuning in to watch the Sox play baseball. - Jason who to this day has the all-time worst home run call. - Anytime the Sox have to play on ESPN, Fox or Amazon Prime.
  6. Well played! One of the absolute greatest movies of all time.
  7. I agree the team needs to be sold, but I do not want it to leave Chicago. The team belongs to the loyal Chicago fans. It's bad enough JR screwed these loyal fans for so many years, but he doesn't get to double down and take this team to another city. I would rather wait until the POS loser dies. and get my new owner via the sale of the team.
  8. You keep giving me these hypotheticals on Moncada getting hot and going injury free in 2024. Playing your game, on the flip side, what about if we put him at 2nd and they make him work hard at being a good second baseman. Then back to your hypothetical, maybe Moncada gets hot in 2024 going injury free and now can play a solid 2nd base. I think his value would be even stronger, since its hard to find a second baseman who can hit. As far as Eloy at DH versus OF, the only reason he might have had worse numbers at DH is because Eloy was sulking like a big baby and whining that he needed to play OF, which of course is not what a team player does. As a result of Eloy's immature whinning, he mentally got himself in the wrong mindset at the plate. However if the Sox actually had some leaders on this team or a veteran manager like a Bochy, that would have sat Eloy down and convinced him what was best for the team, instead of the pansy Grifol who obviously couldn't accomplish that team goal and need. Also take away that horrible first OF stupid injury and the fact is, Eloy has been injured playing the OF on other occasions.
  9. I beg to differ. I never said India was a transcendent player. I simply said he was the better choice than Madrigal at #4. India has been tremendously better than Madrigal and frankly much better than many of our Sox hitters. India is having a great season with 8 HR's, 36 RBI's 12 SB, and a stat line of .278/.361/.433/.794/1.3 For comparison sake, on the Sox team his numbers would be; HR T3rd RBI 2nd SB 1st BA 1st OBP 1st SLG 4th OPS 3rd WAR 2nd Hence why there is no debate in what I posted, that Hahn F*^ked up taking Madrigal over India in 2018 with 4th overall pick.
  10. As I posted and agree with you, I never once wanted Burger at second. Many of you keep saying that Burger sucks at third. If you check the numbers his defense has improved dramatically and he hasn't been a liability at third this season. I did want Moncada at second because and still do. You seem to forget, the Sox traded for him to be our second baseman. I'm tired some of you saying Moncada can't play 2nd, as he made too many errors. Maybe the Sox should have worked more with Moncada on his second base play, instead of moving him to third in the first place. Or maybe if Moncada wasn't such a good 2b in the first place, maybe the genius Hahn should have taken a pass on Moncada in the Sale trade and negotiated for someone else. I do want Moncada traded. I will never back off that. I realize we might have to either eat some money or take less back in a trade for prospects. The bottom line is, he is no good for this team and his lack of hustle, desire and constant injuries and drama are not needed for a team going nowhere right now, You cannot put Burger at DH and make Eloy play OF. Eloy gets injured too easily, so the last thing you want is to make him play the outfield...which by the way Eloy sucks at. Finally, you thinking Moncada will get hot in the start of 2024 and not be injured by the 2024 trade deadline to get your so called "value" back for him...is a pipedream and the definition of insanity. You are paying Moncada 17.8 million and if you don't trade him now, you are going to pay him 24.8 million in 2024. You are telling me right now and assuming he isn't going to have value at this year's trade deadline. However since there is no guarantee Moncada has a injury free productive 2024 start, and if indeed he does have the same bad numbers and injuries as now going into the 2024 trade deadline, then why in the hell would Moncada be of more value in 2024 at 24.8 million versus now at 17.8 million?
  11. Yoan injured again...damn I didn't see that coming! ?
  12. I believe this is the same Reds team where their GM was ecstatic in the 2018 MLB draft, when the White Sox under the genius Rick Hahn, took Nick Madrigal at #4 in the first round, which then allowed the Reds to steal away Jonathon India at #5.
  13. I don't think hardly anyone here had a dream or vison of Burger playing 2nd. For many of us, it was about Moncada to move to 2nd base. Burger has proved he should be the third baseman for now while Moncada is out. Frankly if Burger plays a solid 3rd base while Moncada is gone and continues with his present power numbers, then I'm sorry, but Burger needs to remain the 3rd baseman even when Moncada gets back. It's time to trade Moncada and move on from this constant injury after injury drama.
  14. Tim Anderson cannot continue to be the lead off hitter. His OBP of .292 is a joke! It's embarrassing when you have to listen to the ESPN announcers mention that Tim Anderson leads the majors in groundball % at 64.2. Then what does he do...has an 0-5 night from the #1 spot with one strikeout and 4 groundball outs. I'm not saying saying the Sox have any classic lead-off hitters on this roster to put out there, because this roster has been horribly put together by Hahn for several years now. Yet TA needs to bat lower.
  15. You're right it's always been low. It was because didn't have any plate discipline and patience to draw walks. But when he was hitting well over 300 it was fine. He used to get on base a lot and with his fiery positive attitude...it ignited the team. That ability Tim had, has left the station and never will return again.
  16. All your points are right on. I would rather give Colas the AB's going forward because eventually he will get it right. When he does get it right, he is the best defensive right fielder option we have. I have never been a Sheets fan. I think he is soft and his home run power isn't major league level. I've stated this fact in various posts in here...it was a huge mistake even drafting Sheets so high in the 2nd round in 2017 with the 49th overall pick. We had other first baseman in the farm system and oh yeah...we still had Jose Abreu who was still in his prime and in the 2017, had the following numbers for his first four seasons: HR RBI 2B BA OBP SLG OPS WAR 2014 36 107 35 .317 .383 .581 .984 5.8 2015 30 101 34 .290 .347 .502 .850 3.6 2016 25 100 32 .293 .353 .468 .820 3.1 2017 33 102 43 .304 .354 .468 .906 4.9 Seriously we needed a 1B that high? Sheets was a really dumb draft choice by Rick Hahn. I know that's a shocking bold statement. LOL! We needed way more help in other areas that we were hurting in. Hence one of the many reasons Hahn's drafting has been a big reason for the 2016 rebuild trainwreck. Sheets needs to be moved at the trade deadline. I don't care what the weak return is. As to why it hasn't happened yet, or if it even will happen, is because of the following: 1. Grifol is a major hiring mistake and showing why he is over his head as a rookie manager. He is probably is too scared to even approach Hahn about it. 2. Hahn is clueless as the White roster builder and maybe he likes to justify he didn't screw up drafting Sheets. Maybe another club can improve Sheets to be more productive, but it can't be here.
  17. How about letting TA bat much further down in the lineup! Btw, why in the hell is a .299 OBP for the year leading off still?
  18. It's time to move on at the trade deadline and stop this the constant hoping Eloy will learn how to stay healthy. Maybe we won't get as much back, but I'm sure there will be a team that feels they can straighten him out to be more productive. He needs to be traded to a team with a stronger winning culture and leadership, that can educate him better and get his body into better sustainable baseball shape. We obviously don't have that structure to get him there.
  19. Yes sir, that's what Tim told us. It's all about the fans and media not being positive enough. LOL! I didn't know the "best player on the field at all times" on any given sports team, needed all this positive motivation. I guess I was wrong. I always thought the best athletes on any sports team were usually self starters and self motivated...which how they got to be so good. I'm glad TA educated me correctly for the future.
  20. I agree. Let TA go be as he claims to be, "best player on the field" for another team.
