Conner McKnight sucks and is extremely annoying to listen to! He always coddles this bad team and makes excuses to minimize how bad this team is.
-
Wasted great pitching performance from Lucas Giotto. Bullpen is not just horrible, but they are mentally weak and embarrassing to watch.
-
He really has become annoying.

I second that motion!

Well done and accurate analysis sadly! This is such a sad commentary on how f*#ked up Hahn has botched the rebuild, the farm system and this garbage major league roster. Btw, I would add Grifol, Katz and all the coaches who shouldn't be in this organization.

It's not about his AB's here. It's about all the AB's he had in the minors in which he did well and were suppose to get him ready for the ML level. Sosa had a lot more AB's than many other ML players coming from the minors that actually made it in the big leagues. The sad thing is Sosa might just be a guy who can hit in the minors, but just not good enough to make it at the ML level for a variety of reasons. He won't be the first to fail and not the last.

Lenyn Sosa was given plenty of time to prove he could make it to the major league level. Between all Sox minor league levels he had 1907 AB's and he hit a respectable .284. He had a 263 AB's in AAA Charlotte and hit .319 lifetime and was hitting .459 in 37 AB's this year at Charlotte. If you are in the minors for that much time with pretty decent numbers, you are expected to make the next progression and prove you belong at the ML level. He is a .151 hitter in those 88 AB's. I'm sorry but if he can't produce at the ML level, then there will always be someone else to replace him to get their shot. I realize the Sox will not give up on him yet. However my point was and still is, Sosa isn't going to keep getting unlimited shots up here. If he can't at some point prove he belongs up here, then he will have to go back down. At some point if Sosa can't be a decent hitter, then his opportunities will stop. This isn't some new rule...it's always been that way making it the big leagues. The good news is, he is only 23 yrs old so hopefully he can correct his hitting flaws. At some point regardless of how shitty the Sox organization is, it's on Sosa to make it happen.

I guess Pedro doesn't understand winning four in a row or a sweep. Don't forget our genius GM hired him from KC, one the worst losing teams in baseball. He probably rarely ever witnessed three wins in a row in KC. This is all foreign to him!
-
You know why...they are a dysfunctional organization run by the worst FO in baseball.
-
WTF with Tim Anderson not starting! He comes back and second game back has great night with 3 hits. What are you doing Pedro? Did you forget that prior to this 3 game win streak your team lost 10 in a row and you were the laughing stock in baseball. Now you get a nice three game winning streak going, your first series win and a chance to sweep the your divisional rivals the Twins and extend the win streak to four in a row.....and you sit him? Unless TA is injured...Dumb Dumb Dumb!

That's a great point. Does anyone know what specific game Cease was stopped from calling his own pitches? Plus why in the hell was Dylan stopped from calling his own pitches? What happened to the time tested concept, "If it's not broke...don't fix it!" Btw, why does SoxTalk have to make these observations and not Pedro and Katz looking into this?
-
You're so right! I just pray the Sox FO doesn't set the farm system back even worse by trading away some of the good ones like Montgomery and Schultz to name a few.

I just don't see the logic in Burger batting 8th. In order for Jake to become a more consistent hitter, I realize he needs to be more patient at the plate and stop swinging at pitches well outside the zone. But then again several players on this team need to learn better plate discipline. Why doesn't Pedro consider putting Burger higher in the lineup to protect him, so he can possibly see better pitches? I don't see why Burger can't be in front of Sheets and Grandal at 6th? I know one thing for sure, when Burger gets good pitches in the zone, there is a better possibility of him hitting the ball very hard and far. Finally another head scratcher! Why isn't Seby catching with Cease pitching? Seby is so good with the Dylan's pitches in the dirt versus Grandal who isn't as good digging the balls out.

I will answer this question about any if there is any help in the minors this way. I will only concentrate on AAA Charlotte, as its usually pretty rare to bring up someone up from lower than AAA. There are 20 teams that play in the AAA International league which has 10 teams each in two divisions. Hitting: In 28 games BA - .239 18th OBP - .330 -18th SLG - .377 - 18th OPS - .707 -19th Runs - 3.89/game -19th HR's - 22 - 19th Pitching: ERA - 6.27 - 20th WHIP - 1.71 - 20th Again as its been mentioned in this forum at nauseum, this is all about the genius GM Rick Hahn and his FO staff. From all of Rick's executives, scouts, managers, coaches and their overall manner and in how ineffectively this White Sox organization drafts and develops players. Hence why the White Sox have the 26th ranked farm system.

I would rather see Haseley walked than watching him hit a weak flyball that couldn't get Hamilton home. You're right the next batter was Grandal after Haseley that would have loaded the bases with only one out. Grandal btw walked. There is no doubt Grandal is very inconsistent hitting, but he does take walks as well as anyone of this horrible team, that are one of the worst in the league in taking walks. Who knows, with only one out and the bases loaded, I think pitching to Grandal poses some major stress to the Twins pitcher, especially with Hamilton on 3rd base.

My concern was not with Pedro's handling of Sox pitching in the 9th, it was Pedro's handling of the bottom of the 9th with Sox batting. I had no problem with Pedro bring in Colome in the 9th and definitely happy he yanked him before any further damage. Btw, putting Hanser in for Burger was not necessarily a good defensive choice as you are pointing out. Everyone is ripping Burger for his defense. So far this season Hanser Alberto in 10 games and 15 TC's has two errors and no double plays. Burger in 19 games and 38 TC's has only one error and been in 4 double plays which he started. The worst thing that Pedro did in sacrificing Burger's bat for defense actually backfired on Pedro. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th, it was Hanser at the plate instead of Burger. Of course Hanser ended the inning with a weak flyout .

Me too! I guess the FO and manager didn't learn from last year playing them out of position didn't work so well. I also guess the laughable and embarrassing tumble Gavin took falling down adjusting to a flyball earlier this season, wasn't enough evidence that any plan for Sheets continuing in RF was probably not the best decision for the team. Again this goes back to the genius of Rick Hahn who decided to draft Gavin on the second round in 2017 with the 49th overall pick. I'm pretty sure the need for a first baseman in 2017 wasn't the biggest pressing need, when we already had Jose Abreu, who in 2017 hit 33 HR's, 102 RBI's, 43 Doubles and a stat line of .302/.354/.552/.906.

Ok maybe you could find a second decent season I will give you that possibility. At this point does it really matter whether it's one or maybe two or whatever number you want to debate? The fact is, overall in his career in a White Sox uniform, he has been a big disappointment. Hence why most people in here have wanted him traded...which he probably will be at the trade deadline.

I guess this is the classic "We Will Agree to Disagree." Jerry might still be fairly sharp mentally, but that does not mean he is a good businessman or a nice guy. Maybe if he let one of his sons run the team, just maybe the son could make the team more successful and make more money. Btw, since when do good and smart owners, who are supposedly smart businessmen, have a such a cavalier attitude that they made enough money. - Since he is a bad businessman, that equates to being a bad owner. Jerry making money might be considered a good practice in a normal corporation and business. However this is a Professional Sports Team and they are judged by wins, losses, playoff appearances and championships - I also do not believe he is this nice man as you may think he is. Just read the comments he made and previous comments over the years about the fans and his desire to win. He definitely is an uncaring and arrogant owner. Usually a caring nice owner who really cares...will try to improve the team and not accept the status quo of mediocrity as Jerry has. - As you said, being too loyal as Jerry has always been to a major fault, is a huge problem that has made the Sox consistently a below average team. Being a good businessman means you make the best decisions for your company...even if it means making hard decisions to get rid of loyal executives who are doing a poor job. I do not wish poor health or an early death for Reinsdorf, but you can be damn sure, I will be smiling and grinning ear to ear to celebrate the day this nice guy and great businessman passes away and the team is sold.

DVS: Liam Hendriks to begin rehab stint shortly
The Kids Can Play replied to Quin's topic in Pale Hose Talk
From all reports I read and hear about, they keep saying he looks in great shape and progressing well. Of course we are all hoping and speculating on this Nobody will know the end result until he actually makes it back in his first couple of closing appearances. Having said that, if I had to pick one Sox player on this team to make a huge comeback from cancer and major adversity, for me personally, I don't think there is another Sox player on this team with a more determined work ethic and attitude to accomplish this. Plus you're right, if Liam is anything close to the old Liam, then Hahn just might get something good back in trade. for the Rebuild 2.0! As we all know, closers at trade deadline are usually highly coveted by the good teams looking for that one missing piece to go win it all. Case in point...go see Rick Hahn's trade for Kimbrel two years ago.
