  1. Fernandez was a sad ending but that was 2016. This is 2023 and the Marlins look to have a bunch of young guys and a good winning team with a good positive chemistry going on there.
  2. Yeah but the genius Hahn told us Eloy was one of his core players and Jake was not. ?
  3. I don't know dude, but I've seen some of the Marlin games this year and their team looks to be having a lot of fun. I guess winning will do that. Maybe in the past some of the Marlin teams had issues, but this is 2023 and they are young and playing with energy. If you are going to tell us the Marlins clubhouse today is just as bad as the Sox, then please give us specific documentation and articles and not this I heard some rumors. The difference here with our Sox clubhouse, is the fact we already know there is a problem in our clubhouse. Several ex-players have mentioned this publicly. We also saw first hand on video in the clubhouse when it was announced TA made the all-star team. Btw, its not at all hard to see why Renteria was the only one to get this team playing together and hard. Just look at the two loser managers you are comparing him to.
  4. Well I seriously hope you and all other older long time loyal Sox fans remain very healthy, so we can all outlive the POS loser owner. Then hopefully we can get a new owner and hopefully all of us have one more 2005 season.
  5. Another truly great person to follow and root for...screwed by this fcuked up front office.
  6. You're right and if this inept and dysfunctional org even thinks about rushing Liam back for the 2024 season, then the Sox org is not only stupid, but egregiously negligent. We are going to lose 95-100 games next year, so why in the hell would anyone want to rush him back for 2024. Oh yeah I forgot, we have the biggest joke front office in baseball.
  7. Yep, that's the Sox incompetency at it's best!
  8. Where are you getting this from? Do you have some specific documentation on this. Fans would get upset over Avi Garcia performance, but I don't recall any teammates saying publicly he was a cancer in the clubhouse. I also don't recall Soler being a problem. I have a good friend that lives in Atlanta and he always loved having Soler on their team in 2021 when they won the WS and apparently the fans and teammates liked him. I'm not sure what your point is here. Are you saying the Marlins clubhouse is toxic and the same as the Sox? I hope you aren't telling us that the Sox clubhouse is one tight close knit group.
  9. I agree with you Jake didn't take any direct derogatory shots at the Sox clubhouse. Jake is too classy for that. However even if unintentional, just saying how much fun he was having, how the teammates greeted him and how his new team always believes they can come back and win, is pretty much a comment which ends up being seen as a dig at the toxic culture in the Sox clubhouse.
  10. Shocking! I didn't see that coming! Wow, another ex-Sox player pointing out discreetly some negativity and a toxic culture in the Sox clubhouse. ? Good for Jake. He was a class act and now he gets to play for a team that appreciates his passion and energy. For great dudes like Giolito and Burger, who were initially upset they were traded...good things actually happened. Once they landed in their new homes, they are now seeing it truly was a "blessing in disguise!" In the meantime, our window of contention continues on with our great owner JR and his brilliant GM RH. We are so fortunate to be loyal die-hard fans of this well run organization with so much accountability. Thank you Jerry and Rick, may we please have more fun years ahead with your greatness bestowed upon us!
  11. It's irrelevant whether the Twins or Guardians win the central. Neither team has chance in hell to go far and win the World Series. Twins are +3000 and Guardians are +6000 to win the 2023 WS.
  12. DFA Grandal and Andrus and send Zavala and Sheets back down to AAA. I know Zavala is a good catcher defensively, but it doesn't matter anymore as we aren't going to win many games even if Zavala catches. We already know Sheets can't hit, other than groundballs and short flyouts and he too is wasting a roster spot. Then let as many new players get shots to the new 28 man roster on Sept 1 to see if they can handle the majors. The Sox aren't going anyway and so they might as well let a bunch of AAA players play instead of Grandal, Andrus, Sheets and Zavala. The best thing is we find out if they are worth keeping. On the other hand if they cant help, then that's fine too, as we will probably finish with one of the worst three records and be in the lottery.
  13. I find it interesting we face Dane Dunning tonight. I forgot that we faced him almost a year ago to the day. The Rangers beat us last year 8-0 and Dunning went 7 scoreless innings for the win.
  14. Btw, if you go back and check any of my posts for the last year, I have never one time said Burger was better than Moncada at 3rd. I know Moncada is better. My entire point all along has been he isn't as bad as some people like to make him out to be. Even if he was worse than Moncada defensively, he still made up for it by being superior to him in all other offensive categories. The bottom line is Burger is gone plain and simple and only time will tell. If Burger takes it anther level and our new pitching prospect never makes it to majors, or isn't any good, then we can discuss the value of the trade in a few years. As I've also stated I hope this kid makes it because down the road, I would like to see some good Sox pitching.
  15. I'm not waiving defense. Burger has made only 3 errors in a 149 chances to Moncada's 3 errors in 102 chances. Now lets compare offensive stats if we are going to continue debating that Moncada is better than Burger.
  16. Again as I stated there are other defensive metrics. FanGraphs are analytics and projections. Another stat in MLB they still keep is # of errors and fielding % and both have made three errors at 3rd and Burger in way more chances.
  17. I think it's great the Sox are prioritizing pitching and stockpiling them. The problem remains to be seen, if we they can develop them. The Sox AA and AA pitching is the worse...not a hunch, a fact. Unless the FO has plans to change the coaching down there, the probability is not good.
  18. Which is a huge problem based on the Sox track record of developing players in the minors.
  19. First of all, I wasn't talking about on the field value as only being about fielding. Your statement was he had limited value on the field. Having said that, Burger had only 3 errors this year in 149 chances to Moncada's 3 errors in 102 chances. I know there are other defensive analytics, but errors are still valid. However the other debate which many of us here have stated factually, is the fact, Burger crushes Moncada in home runs and slug %, which is on the field in the lineup value. Plus for a guy who has such poor plate discipline, he has a higher OBP than Moncada. You're right though I'm glad we get to learn new things everyday and thanks for letting me know that Moncada is more valuable than Burger at third, based on all factors of hitting, fielding, hustling, effort, availability/healthy and attitude.
  20. I wasn't talking about him being a swell guy with the two debating sides. Big deal you thought he was a great guy. Guess what, everyone here did too. There was never a question he was extremely likable and a passionate team player. The debate which you just confirmed, is he was limited on the field and I don't think he was limited. Will agree to disagree.
  21. Whatever. What I do know is, there are people in here who love the Burger trade who never liked him, versus the other faction in here that hated the trade and liked Burger. The pro Burger camp isn't changing their minds, as I appreciate and respect the Hate Burger club aren't changing their minds. For any of us to continue this argument is the classic, "Trying to put a square peg in a round hole" I'm officially done and hope Burger does great and also hope this new kid becomes a stud pitcher for the Sox.
  22. I gave it a C+ but really it's an incomplete. Time will tell and if these prospects all make I to the majors and are productive then Hahn will get an A, but if these prospects fail or only a few make it, then the grade will obviously be much worse. My only hope is when these prospects do make it, Rick Hahn is long gone!
  23. That is a great point and guess what, the AAA Knights are 19th of 20 teams in most walks given up. There is a good reason the Sox have the worst AAA pitching staff ERA at 6.48. The coaches down there obviously are not very good at developing pitchers. The best of luck to these new pitching prospects who need some tweaking on their control problems.
  24. Again man, you need to read the original posts more carefully. The original poster said wait until the next season when the Sox are one of the worst offensive teams. I was only mentioning the fact we don't have to wait until 2024, its happening right now. I really don't get what your point is.
