  1. Well isn't that special! We better score a lot of runs early and often to make sure we can survive the reliable Vince Velazquez and his 5.29 ERA. Another of Hahn's brilliant off-season signings! ?
  2. Memo to the Sox: You need to get more than 5 hits, 2 walks, 2 runs and and not getting 13 K's in 9 innings to a last place team that is 35 games under 500. Quit making mediocre pitchers look like Cy Young candidates.
  3. Yes, but not somebody, SEVERAL people accountable and gone!
  4. Patented is a good word for it! I am sick and tired of his cavalier attitude and these constant up and down games. He needs to go and not be on the roster next season, along with several other players gone.
  5. Of course, why would our boys need to take a last place team seriously when the Tigers are last in MLB in runs scored and 33 games under 500 going into the game. Another typical Sox game where the entire team goes hitless collectively at the plate: Moncada 0-5 Sheets 0-3 Gonzalez 0-1 Pollack 0-4 Gradual 0-4 RISP - 2-12
  6. This just shows you how the Sox pitchers and Katz are the dumbest and most clueless in baseball. Baez goes 3-3. Are you f#*king kidding me! Everyone in MLB except the Sox, apparently seem to follow the 0-Swing% stats. Baez is dead last in the majors in the swinging out of zone stat at 47.3%. WTG your dumb idiot Sox pitchers and coaching staff for throwing Baez pitches to hit!
  7. Agreed on the offense staying hot tonight. However Giolito needs to step up and pitch great tonight as well. The fact is, the next 2 starts for Gio will be arguably be his two biggest starts of this season and maybe even his career. We obviously need this win tonight from Gio and his next start next week, is the third and final game of the Cleveland series, which hopefully we have won the first two games with Cease and Lynn going.
  8. I don't think that applies to Frank Thomas. However I totally agree with you that Gordon Beckman is bad in the booth and someone needs to tell him to quit rambling and dominating the conversation during the game. I so miss Steve Stone!
  9. I said the same thing when he hit that home run. That was great to see again. Imagine we could get that home run swing and power back from Yaz down the stretch!
  10. Lynn stepped up clutch once again. That was his 5th straight start with one ER or less and second straight start with zero ER's. Amazing when you hit 5 home runs how much fun the game is and how much easier it is to win. Good job boys, you decided to stop letting a horrible pitcher look like a CY Young candidate and pounded him hard! Don't Stop Now Boys! No matter how bleak it looks, you still have a chance and it's for your taking if you are hungry enough!
  11. That is great advice and I do plan on that, as I do take great care of myself. I've been screwed too many years with this POS owner and my major motivation is to wait him out. ?
  12. When you consider he is only 26 years and only making $750,000, he is a steal and probably the best pitcher in baseball for that tiny salary. He also seems to always be healthy and never on the IL...an aberration for any Sox player! He will be an UFA in 2026. This just might be one of those long term pitchers the Sox would want to lock up, a few years before 2026, I personally don't see him regressing like Kopech or Giolito and only see him getting better.
  13. I know that as it's been posted numerous times here. I guess I'm waiting for that reality to happen! He is 86 years old and will be 87 in Feb, 2023. I don't know what type of health he is in, but it's a very small percentage of males statistically that live beyond 87 in the US. I'm not wishing anything bad for Jerry, but I have come to grips with the fact that until the team is sold, we probably won't be winning another World Series under Jerry's ownership, unless he wakes up and let's Michael run the team like he does the Bulls.
  14. Actually there is nothing great about the city of Cleveland as Joakim Noah once said. Yet what Cleveland does have, is a first place baseball team run by a tremendous owner, front office and field manager. Check out some of these amazing and yet disgusting facts about the Cleveland team this season: They have the 27th payroll in MLB baseball with 66 million. This team currently has 25 of 28 players on their roster under 30 years old. They lead the league in bringing up rookies this season. They brought up 14 rookies from the minors this season. The Guardians will be the 5th club in MLB history to have a winning record through 120 games while having 14 rookies on their roster. Even after taking up the most rookies of any team this year, they haven't depleted their farm system. Before the season started they had a pre-season 12th ranked farm system. Even though they brought up several rookies, they still kept developing all their young prospects in the minors during the season. With the most recent updated farm system ranking, they now have the #3 ranked farm system. Having all this youth and rookies with a such a small payroll is really astounding. The fact they are currently 11 games over 500 and kicking the crap out of the Sox, is a true testament to the fact you need a great owner, front office and manager to be a highly successful winning baseball team. Obviously our arrogant, stubborn and ignorant owner is completely clueless on these facts. I just don't see this sad state of affairs for the Sox to ever have a chance to be successful like the Dodgers, Yankees, Astros, Mets and Braves, until we get a new owner, or Jerry turns it over to his son like he did with the Bulls. I hate the Guardians and as a Sox fan I'm totally pissed and jealous. I can't wait until a new GM and owner run this team. It can't be soon enough!
  15. Yes it is a must-win! However we all know how our boys play against bad pitchers! We will probably make Gaddis look like a Cy Young candidate today.
  16. Just like today, in those 31 losses to losing teams, we always made those loser pitchers with their high ERA look like a bunch of Cy Young candidates.
  17. Phenomenal letter! I pray this open letter gets a lot of traction nationally besides locally to embarrass and criticize Tony and Jerry to the fullest. Well the table is set! If Tony does come back and he ruins this team's momentum that Cairo has turned around, then Tony and Jerry will look even look more stupid and foolish.
  18. I agree we can agree to disagree. We do however agree that Tony does not deserve to come back to this team and Cairo needs to finish this season.
  19. Makes me love Cairo even more than I already did. I know he may not be the long term solution, but for now, he may be the only reason this season got saved and allow this team to make a serious final run at the division title.
  20. I'm glad Liam said it and you're right that totally gives this story more creditability coming from Liam. He is probably one of the few players on this team to have the balls to say it and have no fear he said he said it. I love that that about Liam and probably why he is such a perfect person to be our closer with that type of toughness and grit.
  21. That is some powerful speech and that Cairo told the team that 1. "If you don’t want to be here, then get the (expletive) out" and the statement he told the team, that mediocrity and complacency no longer would be tolerated. This is such an indictment on Tony and his lack of leadership, motivation and accountability in documenting why Tony lost the clubhouse.
  22. The Sox have 21 games left. We are 4 games back from Cleveland in the loss column. The boys need to step up and everyone on the team needs to do their job and be clutch in every game! Frankly they just need to play their best ball of the year like nothing we've seen from them this year. The Sox can't worry about what Cleveland does! They need a W-L record starting tonight like nothing they have done all season. We will find out in the next 21 games if our Sox players can be clutch and dominant in both hitting and pitching and to prove to themselves and the fans, they are a championship caliber team.
  23. I agree and I would rather switch Cease with Giolito for that road makeup game against Cleveland. We also have Cleveland again at home after the Detroit series and he is scheduled to get one start in that series. I guess I personally would rather see Cease in 2 starts vs one start in the next 4 Cleveland games. However the sad thing is, if Giolito could just pitch like he once did, then nobody here would have a problem if he did the next Cleveland game.
  24. The point of everyone not wanting him back is not about Tony wearing a pacemaker. This is about whether he is physically and mentally capable of managing the White Sox in this heated and stressful pennant race. He 78 years old and in bad shape physically and mentally. My neighbor has a pacemaker and is 79 years old. However he is articulate and sharp. He doesn't mumble his words like Tony does, nor does he have a hard time making complete sentences like Tony does at the post game press conference. My neighbor is also is an upbeat guy with a lot of energy, which is just the complete opposite of Tony, who is always looking bitter, upset and confused. Why do you think that toxic clubhouse culture started and existed in the first place?
  25. Wow, you must be the world's most internal optimist. If you are assuming this team will play better under TLR, then I guess you haven't been watching the games recently, or all this year and noticed the change in offensive production, player's excitement in the dugout and the constant positive comments several of the players are saying since TLR has been gone. As far as negative chants, I think you are being naïve if you don't think they will be louder than ever when he comes back, especially if the team starts losing badly due to Tony 's presence and poor managerial decisions. Tony is putting himself in a tough situation coming back. If he comes back the team needs to win the division. Anything less and the fans and media will blame Tony mostly for the demise and rightfully so! As far as fandom goes, when you pay money you to go to a game you have every right to voice your loud chants or opinions as long as its not vulgar and obscene. I was half kidding with the comment, "We don't want you back". Paying fans have a right to voice their negative decisions. That does not make them second class citizens or losers. Also, quit this having us feel sorry for Tony! I'm sorry but Tony signed up for this stress when he took the job two years ago. He was too old then and in bad health to even take the job. Now as he has gotten worse, for him not to retire and to continue to manage this team knowing the fans disrespect him, is his own arrogant and masochistic decision. However trust me on this, no fan is going to feel guilty yelling negative comments to him just because he is not in good health. If he isn't in great health, then he should retire and take better care of himself. Finally don't give us that crap because he is a Hall of Famer that he doesn't deserve or cannot receive criticism. That line of thinking is just ridiculous! He was a HOF'er a long time ago. This is 2022 and he is 3 weeks short of turning 78 yrs old with obvious health issues and not just physical, but probably cognitive from excessive drinking. He is not entitled to this HOF "holier than god" respect if he sucks as a manager. This is the rule any any sport for any head coach or manager that comes back when they shouldn't or stays too long.
