  1. Home run on this one! I've have been banging this drum hard!. Let Michael run it and clean house completely! This includes not only Jerry's pals, but all FO, farm system management, manager, coaches and all medical, training and strength staff members!
  2. Zero chance!. However whether it's Katz or someone else, someone needs to work with Lucas in the off-season to develop one or two more pitches. His current 92-94 mph four-seamer with no movement is too hittable and he can't locate it very well anymore. His once dominant change-up is not effective anymore for obvious reasons. I think he needs to get a two seam FB and get more movement, along with maybe adding a cutter or some other movement pitch. There are pitchers out there having great results that don't throw super hard and Lucas needs to become a smarter pitcher with a better arsenal of pitches.
  3. This is exactly what we need to do! I would also add one more thing that the Sox should do...and hopefully with the new manager and coaches. They need to tell Eloy if he wants to play more outfield and be less injury prone running the bases, then he needs to spend the off season losing some serious weight and getting his legs more flexible. If he wants to be an outfielder then he needs to prove he is willing to get more in shape and get quicker. He can lose weight and get more flexible without losing power, if he does the proper strength training along with a better diet and more cardio! My god, he is paid millions and that is the least he could do if indeed he is serious about playing in better shape and not being injured so often. Hopefully the new hitting coach next year will also teach him to get that home run swing back and not hit so many grounders.
  4. Yes and this has been an ongoing problem for years. They have poor plate discipline and are not patient enough, where they swing at way too many pitches outside the zone. Hence why they are 29th in walks with 319, as opposed to the Yankees #1 with 495 and Dodgers #2 with 484.
  5. Agreed! If you are going to clean house, a new manager will want and should have his own coaches.
  6. The 2022 White Sox: Your comprehensive guide in how not to do a rebuild!
  7. When the following two things happen: 1. All the local and national newspapers and media sources need to ruthlessly blast Reinsdorf more aggressively and continuously, where they call him out as a completely ignorant and inept owner to the most scathing degree possible. 2. When the fans literally stop paying for tickets and do not show up to the games. If fans are upset enough, then they need to quit bitching and make Reinsdorf see their displeasure with the attendance and food revenue. Even if the tickets are already sold for the reminder of the season, people need to stop showing up. Two or three thousand fans in attendance buying food and alcohol is a significant loss of revenue from their normal and expected 25-30 thousand fans buying the food, alcohol and merchandise. I don't see what could be more embarrassing of a message to Jerry than a few thousands fans in attendance and the ball park looks completely empty. Obviously this might and probably will not happen, but then people need to accept as fans, they are willing to continue being machoistic fans and letting this god awful owner, FO and manager/coaching staff continue on. If the fans are not willing to do something drastic to change this horrible baseball product, then they need to accept the pain and misery and continue to accept this punishment.
  8. Hopefully there will be massive change. In the worst case scenario there is no change and we go into next season with the same shit FO and manager/coaches, then it's a huge blatant insult to the fan's intelligence. Jerry in essence would telling the fans FU...I don't care what the fans think, which we already know he doesn't. This would be Jerry at his worse, doubling down to his blind loyalty to his people....once again assuming the fans will keep spending money to watch his mediocre non-playoff team. The signs and chants at the home games saying, "Sell The Team", "Fire Tony" and "Fire Hahn" better get more intense next season if no major change. Additionally the national and local media better criticize Jerry publicly in the worst scathing manner possible. Finally, the best way to stop Jerry's nonsense is for the fans not go to the games and let the team play in front of an empty ballpark.
  9. That's fine by me and a good point! A true ridiculous rich billionaire buying the Sox would have the money to build his own stadium.
  10. If Jerry would wake up and quit being so stubborn and arrogant and sell, then some serious billionaire with silly money would buy this team. A billionaire with liquid billionaire type money and not a billionaire like Jerry, who is only a billionaire on paper. With the right new owner, the Sox wouldn't need a full blown rebuild. The new owner would have the money to go after several quality free agents over the next few years and then spend money on cleaning house and finding new pres of baseball ops, who would hire the right people to be in charge of the club's drafting, developing and coaching required to build a elite level farm system. Hell, if the new owner was really smart, he could go recruit Andrew Friedman away from LA and not only offer him more money and same title as he has now, but also offer him a small ownership stake in the club. Btw, I do love your idea of the Sox having a new stadium built for them by the city of Chicago by Soldier Field, when the Bears leave town.
  11. I've been beating this drum for awhile now! Michael would definitely make big changes. Many owners have and do own multiple teams and had great success running two teams. Michael could easily handle both by just finding some stud president of baseball ops like the Dodgers found in Andrew Freidman. Michael does right now letting Arturas Karnisovas run his Bulls.
  12. Great point! Jerry lucked out big time...all because of a colossal all time draft mistake in 1984, when the Portland Trail Blazers picked Sam Bowie #2 instead of Michael Jordan, who the Bulls got as a miracle gift with the #3 pick!
  13. Ok Jose, it's admirable on your part to be positive and believe your team can still make the playoffs. However maybe before using your heart to convince the team, maybe you should cover these facts for the remainder of the season and face reality: The Guardians are 67-58 to your Sox team at 63-64. You are 6 games back in the loss column with 35 games to go, to Guardians 37 games remaining. The Guardians can now actually play under 500 and finish 18-19 to finish at 85-77. Your team would then need to then finish at 23-12 to finish 86-76. That would mean playing at a .657 clip! Unfortunately your team hasn't played anywhere near this winning clip all year. The fact is, only one team (Dodgers) currently this year has a winning percentage of better than .657 with their current .696 winning percentage. On the other hand, if the Guardians just continue at there present winning %, they would finish 87-75. Thus your team would need to finish 25-10 or .714. As Liam Neeson said, "Good Luck!"
  14. Yep and over the history of owning teams, it's a long list of previous owners who owned multiple teams.
  15. Agreed its an entire team problem. Hence why the entire FO and on field manger and coaches need to be fired. Whoever comes in as the new strength and conditioning person not only needs to implement a better stretching program, but they need to be on the field daily making sure their specific proper flexibility routines are being followed diligently without exception or in any half ass manner. Most importantly they need a manager and coaching staff to be more involved to support that proper flexibility program and make sure it is being done properly by every single player.
  16. I don't think all the fans will continue to tolerate the Sox based on failures like this season and if more future seasons go like this one, the fans won't just continue to support Jerry. The future is already looking bleak with the 26th ranked farm system and all type of underachieving and injury prone players on this Sox team. I think a lot early excitement was generated by the Sox rebuild and promises. Fans were excited seeing certain young players potentially becoming stars and contacts extended. The FO promised continued successful playoff success and implied future championships. However when the realty is that Eloy, Moncada and Robert and several other players are all injury prone and underperforming, I think fans will revaluate their loyalty to this Jerry team. This especially will be a factor if Jerry defends his loser buddy LaRussa and brings him back next year. There was a time back in the late 80's when the Sox attendance was bad. Nothing is guaranteed with continued stupid owner and front office inept decision making. Nothing says this can't happen again. 1987 - 14,914 1988 - 13,860 1989 - 12,989 The only thing that can save future Sox loyalty is a major FO cleaning house and on field manager change. To keep doing the same o, same o with the same losers, is just the pure definition of insanity! Fans will not keep watching dumb and inept baseball with horrible leadership at all levels.
  17. Hell yes and one for Eloy. How many times are these two fragile players, who lack flexibility, going to continue to pull their hamstrings
  18. They need to be fired as well and the entire organization wiped clean.
  19. There is the occasional contract they do sign over the years to extend to a good player. However there is a reason the Rays are near the bottom every year for team payroll. The good new if we got a stud from the Rays or some other similar team, he could be like Freidman at LAD and not have to deal with limited money to spend. The reason we want one these executives from TB is there knowledge and consistency in building great teams thru the draft and farm system without spending money. The assumption is give them serious money to spend which the Sox have, and a sharp TB executive for example, could do serious winning things here because they would also build a quality farm system.
  20. He absolutely could run both and many other owners do. He doesn't have to run it much. He just needs to find a stud like the Dodgers did with Andrew Friedman, and get out of his way and let him do his job. Btw, there are several owners past and present in all four sports that owned or own more than one team. Ted Leonis - owner of Washington Wizards, Capitals and Mystics Jody Allen, sister of her decease brother Paul Allen - owner of Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trailblazers Gayle Benson, wife of her decease husband Tom Benson - owner of New Orleans Saints and Pelicans
  21. A loser owner and team: A tradition unlike any other!
  22. I'm glad the Sun Times did this. Every other media source both locally and nationally need to follow up and create continued major heat and criticism on Jerry.
  23. Thanks for the heads up and please take your time. There is no rush to get back to Sox talk discussions! The Sox performance this season through the FO, managing, coaching and player's performance on the field is starting to make it less desirable IMO, to waste our valuable time discussing the horrible underachieving results this club gave their loyal paying fans.
  24. You are absolutely right it starts with scouting, player evaluations and player development. Rick Hahn has screwed this part of the organization up big time. Tampa Bay has been one of the best in this respect for years. Since they don't have the money to spend and they play in a small market and small attendance park, they clearly understand the value of drafting and developing. You are right, drafting is tough, but it doesn't have to be a crapshoot. The good teams like Tampa seem to have an understanding of the type of player they need in their system. They seem to understand basic fundamental baseball in which TB knows the type of player they want that have good speed, fielding and plate presence. They obviously also understand this formula with pitchers. Once these drafted players enter Tampa's farm system, they seem to have the right coaches throughout their entire minor league system to develop these players into productive ML players to bring up over the future years to their big league team. Once these TB players become stars and before they reach free agency, they usually trade them away for more prospects to continue strengthening their farm system. As we know TB plays in probably the toughest division in baseball year in and year out. Since 2008, TB Win-Loss record is 1270-1062 for a .554%. That is 208 games over 500! Yet the Rays have done this success with being one of the lowest payrolls yearly since 2008. Imagine Tampa record if they play in the AL central. Year W L Payroll Rank 2022 69 56 24 2021 100 62 26 2020 60 40 28 2019 96 66 30 2018 90 72 28 2017 80 82 29 2016 68 94 28 2015 80 82 28 2014 77 85 28 2013 92 71 28 2012 90 72 25 2011 91 71 29 2010 96 66 21 2009 84 78 25 2008 97 65 29 1270 1062 This is why we need to get someone from the Tampa Bay Front Office to create this successful formula in Chicago. I realize this may not happen until Jerry dies and the team is sold. However Jerry allowed this to happen with his Bulls team. He allowed his son Michael to run the Bulls and his son went out and found an outside executive who had great success building another basketball winning organization. Keep in mind the Dodgers stole Andrew Friedman in 2015 to be their president of baseball ops and have full control. They knew Friedman could draft and develop players. However now the Dodgers gave him unlimited money to spend to hire all the top free agents. However the key point here is Freidman didn't forget how to build the farm system. The Dodgers are not only the winningest team in baseball with the highest payroll, but they have the #2 ranked farm system. There is no reason Jerry can't let his son Michael take over the Sox and let him go outside and find the right man to clean house from top to bottom. Obviously as we all know, the only thing stopping this is Jerry with his stubborn, arrogant and ignorant personality. As I have stated before, it would only be in Jerry's best interest to do this. Since Jerry plans on selling the team when he dies, it's an even more logical reason to allow his family to sell the Sox after his death for a much higher valued amount. This is usually referred to as following "Best Practices" in all successful companies or organizations"!
