The P.T. Barnum owner circus has plenty of clowns under him with Hahn, TLR, and Menechino, as well as a shitty farm system.
-
Regardless of how the LOB is counted they leave too many men on base. They were 4-19 with RISP the last 2 games.
-
You are right the entire team is injury prone. You are right on about Eloy. In Eloy's case, his lack of coordination and inability to run well, is a direct correlation to his lack of proper conditioning and diet. He is playing too heavy and should lose weight. He is clearly not very flexible. He would benefit greatly from doing yoga and other extensive flexibility training, like his teammate Dylan Cease does. If Eloy would simply work on his diet and flexibility, he would be more agile and be able to run the bases better and faster and probably be less injury prone. On the other hand, maybe I'm wrong and Eloy is maybe your classic klutz and will always be injury prone.
-
Good luck Romy! Take advantage of this time up and make it happen!
-
Oh most definitely! The training staff has always been incompetent, but its Hahn's fault because he keeps putting up with the inept training staff.
-
Once again the Sox FO and it's organizational incompetence rearing it's ugly head!

Hmmm, you must have forgotten the crew that did the Apple TV games, or perhaps you forgot the Fox announcers who did the Sox games or better yet, you must have forgotten the last Astros series when we played on the ESPN Sunday night game of the week. Those three network crews are horrible compared to Jason and Steve. You seriously don't realize how good we have it.

08/17: Astros at Sox. 7:10, NBCSN

Let's go Kopech! Please bring that upper 90's heater with movement and that nasty slider. You need to be a killer tonight like your last outing. Let's just try to keep the walks down and not go through so many pitches. -
Sox won't fire TLR, but would reassign him after season

Screw Musk donating money for the Sox cause. Why couldn't he just buy the damn team from Jerry. The latest Forbes White Sox value is listed as 1.76 billion. Musk has a net worth of 272 billion. He could afford to overpay for it and make it worthwhile for the loser Reinsdorf to sell. How great would that be if the Sox were owned by someone who actually wasn't cheap and had ridiculous liquid billions. Imagine an owner who actually wants to spend the money to build a championship team at any cost. So f'ing sad for Sox fans we have to wait until Jerry either dies or is mentally incapable of running the team, when he has must be given 24-7 dementia care at his home. -
Another Comeback White Sox Winner !!

Great win! That is now 5 in a row and first time this season 5 games over 500. The team actually for once showed enthusiasm and fire on the field and in the dugout! Thank you Cueto and McGuire and others for opening their eyes. I hate to be negative, but this lack of long ball power is going to eventually keep this team from going far in the playoffs. We had 10 hits (9 singles and 1 double). Only 2 BB's, because several players are still swinging wildly at pitches way outside the zone. We are hitting too many groundball outs. Yes some of those groundballs got though for hits, but that is not something to count on consistently as a winning formula. We need to get some power going and hit the damn ball out of the park, like we did a few seasons ago. The winning teams in this league do that. Currently the Sox are 27th in home runs per at bat at 40.17. The top teams in this stat are: 1 NY Yankees 20.43 2 Atlanta 22.14 3 Houston 24.54 4 Milwaukee 24.54 5 LA Dodgers 25.32 6 Philadelphia 25.79 7 Toronto 26.69 It is important to note the last time we hit home runs a lot was 2020. We were 6th in the league at 21.38. Btw, here is another scary fact. There are 17 teams in MLB over 500 which includes the Sox. Of those 17 teams, the Sox are the only team with a negative run differential. -

It probably was Miguel Cairo reminding TLR to put Engel in. -
Your claiming the extra base hits and home runs come when those 5 players start games together, but they rarely have started games together. We've played 116 games thus far and those 9 games you claim they have played together, represents 7.7% of this season being productive. Anderson is out for another 5 weeks or so, Robert is day to day and who knows what his story is and Jimenez is injury prone and who knows when his next injury will occur. Your logic is correct but unrealistic based on how little they do play together. That's why I said we have struggled with HR's and XBH's! The Sox are 25th in Home Runs, 23rd in XBH's and 19th in Runs per game...and that's because they can't stay healthy.
-
You're right, a fully healthy Sox team gives us a solid chance. Unfortunately that hasn't happened all season or the last two seasons. Hopefully it will start going forward. However regardless of our solid starting pitching and bullpen improving, the same problem still exists...which is the team still struggles offensively and they don't hit enough home runs and extra base hits. We went 7 scoreless innings last night before scoring 4 runs in the 8th. We also struggled in the sweep of the Tigers each game.
-
Absolutely correct. Other than Houston last night, the other 29 games were against Guardians, (62-54), Twins (59-55), Rockies ( 51-66), A's ( 41-75), Royals (48-69), Rangers (52-63) and Tigers (44-74). Having said that, if that is what it takes to get these boys confident and playing better, than we'll take it.
-
Winning the AL title would be a successful season. But losing to the Dodgers in the WS would be extremely disappointing. Again, you're making a huge assumption that the Sox are even capable of getting to the WS and getting by the Astros, Yankees, Rays, Blue Jays, and Mariners, besides the Guardians.

McGuire Throws Shade at Sox Clubhouse
The Kids Can Play replied to CWSpalehoseCWS's topic in The Diamond Club
I agree not all players are necessarily going to be loud and outgoing leaders like a Cueto or Giolito. Take Vaughn for example. He personally said that he agreed the team needs more fire and passion. He also said his normal personality is to be more a quiet and a silent leader. However we know he cares and hates losing. Last night every time he struck out or grounded out, you could tell he was pissed. The one groundball out he had, he took his bat and pounded it hard in the ground. The bottom line is, this team isn't playing with the same passion, energy, confidence and fun as they did two years ago before LaRussa. -
That's great for the American league. However the goal is to win the World Series. So let's look at NL records since Jul 1: Dodgers - 33-6 (.846) Mets - 28-12 (.700) Braves - 27-13 (.675) All 3 NL teams are better than any AL team right now since July 1. The Dodgers, Mets and Braves should be who the Sox are being compared to in terms of winning a WS title. These 3 teams also play in significantly tougher divisions than the Sox! Btw, it was a long season back to day 1, but now for the Sox, they only have 46 games left.

That's a Come Back White Sox Winner !!

Great come from behind win! Cueto is a stud! He didn't let the Harrison error and botched double play get him down. It's pretty rare for a Sox pitcher to go 8 innings and he deserved that win. -
McGuire Throws Shade at Sox Clubhouse

Hmm, we all wanted Renteria fired and got our wish. Does anyone recall hearing comments from the players, media or fans saying the Sox weren't having fun, a toxic clubhouse and a team not playing with passion and fire? In fact, many baseball experts across the nation thought the Sox clubhouse atmosphere and culture was one of the best if not best! Hmm, fast forward two years and what changed? Could it be the arrogant and senile owner made a colossal mistake on his manager choice? Nah, that was his good buddy, who was a drunk 77 year old and DUI HOF'er. Why wouldn't that work? -
McGuire Throws Shade at Sox Clubhouse

The entire team! Not only did we have this confirmed by Abreu, Cueto, Keuchel and McGuire, who were in that clubhouse, but we also saw it first hand with the infamous video of the lethargic and bored team response that the players gave TA, when it was announced he was selected as an All-Star starter. -
If you are referring to the Guardians final 6 games against KC, then yes it's weak. However going into tonight's game against the Tigers, the Guardians have 46 games remaining. The Guardians have 29 of those 46 games against teams over .500, which is 63.0% of their remaining games. It's about the same for the Twins, as 30 of their last 48 games are against teams over 500 or 62.5%. Again, I was not debating whether we will win the division or a wild card spot. I actually think we have a good chance to make it either way. My point of my post was, once we are in the playoffs, are we as good as the top elite teams to go deep and win a World Series championship? I think this is a fair question to ask. The elite teams and # games over 500: Dodgers 46 games over Mets - 34 games over Astros 33 games over Yankees 28 games over Braves 15 games over It's great to make the playoffs, but the last two years we were one and done. I can't speak for anyone else here, but one and done for me was depressing and disappointing. I want a WS championship like we last won in 2005.
-
Does it really matter whether we win a wild card or win the division? Does anybody think we have any legitimate chance in the playoffs to go deep? Does anyone seriously think the Sox have the same talent level, quality manager and coaches, along with a winning attitude of the Dodgers, Mets, Astros, Yankees and Braves? Of course this is all due to the worst owner in baseball Jerry Reinsdorf and an overrated and underachieving VP/GM Rick Hahn.
-
YES! It's also safe to say that not firing LaRussa yet, might be the worst move in franchise history!
-
I sure hope its finally momentum and a serious win streak. However knowing they only beat one the worst teams in baseball, I will say it's a Tease. If they can take 3 of 4 and nothing less than a split from the Astros, than maybe it truly is momentum.
