AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
The Kids Can Play replied to 35thstreetswarm's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Great series win, but against one of the worst teams in baseball! KC 3 game series: KC ERA - 15th AL and 27th ML 4.70 ERA Sox - RISP - 9-30 Sox - LOB - 24 Eloy 11-18 , .611 BA - 1 2B, 0 HR. Vaughn 7-12 , .583 BA, 1 2B, 1 3B, 0 HR We do have those ground balls working! Thanks a lot Menechino...you royal POS loser! -
It's not happening with this front office of KW and RH, along with the drunken' pathetic manager and his entire coaching staff. I am also pretty sure as long as JR owns the team and still needs to be in charge, as opposed to letting his son Michael or someone else take over, a championship is many years away and this rebuild has been officially derailed and a bonafide trainwreck.
-
This is what you get when the owner decides a druken' and demented 77 yr old can still manage!
-
One answer only, the worst owner in baseball is still in charge! 9 groundball outs. Even many of the hits were grounders! Way to get that lift in this home run era! 9 K's - They have no plate discipline and are constantly chasing pitches outside the zone. 1 walk! This was against a Royals team that was 22 games under .500. There is not another team in baseball who's owner would not have fired Menechino by now!

Yankees get Montas, Trivino from OAK
The Kids Can Play replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
As they say, "the rich get richer!" It's too bad we don't have an owner and GM who think big time like the Yankees! -
Actually this last time the Bears actually turned to Bill Polian, the Ex GM of Buffalo that went to four straight super bowls in the 80's and the Colts, where he won a super bowl and is in the hall of fame. The verdict is still out on Ryan Poles, but at least the loser George McCaskey admitted he needed help again and didn't rely on his own stupidity or that of the even dumber Ted Phillips. I know you and many others feel Jerry will stay loyal to TLR, but if this second half implodes even worse and we miss the playoffs badly, I think as stubborn and clueless as Jerry is, he will have to make a change. Hopefully maybe his son Michael will give him a hint! Btw, there is no way in hell Tony will ever be a GM of this team. He failed miserably at Arizona. He is too old and senile to manage now and that is a much easier job than being a GM and/or president. As dumb as Jerry is, he must already know how the fans and media disrespect his buddy, so why in the world would Jerry be ridiculed even more and add the GM title to Tony. As I said, maybe this never happens, but until Jerry dies, or gets a stud GM from another club to be the pres, this team will never be a super consistent winner like the Dodgers Astros and Yankees.

At the end of the season Hahn needs to be fired. However so does Kenny Williams. Jerry then needs to get some consultation from some retired, knowledgeable and successful baseball executive, or maybe his son Michael, who can assist him to find the next President of baseball operations. Jerry needs to learn from an organization like the Dodgers. The Dodgers fired their Pres of Baseball ops and decided to go after one of the best GM's in baseball at the time in Andrew Freidman from Tampa back in 2015. He won an Executive of the year award while there and had one of the winningest teams in baseball during his 10 years with TB. The Dodgers took Friedman and gave him a huge promotion and massive salary raise to move him from TB GM to Pres of the Dodgers. This was brilliant thinking, because they took a GM who was in a small market and didn't have the money to spend on free agents or even keeping their top players when they hit free agency. The Sox need to go get that type of successful and hungry GM like the Dodgers did. Ideally we need someone from a smaller market team, who has been successful because he didn't rely on spending money, as opposed to relying on having an excellent scouting system, great managers and coaches, solid medical and training staffs and most importantly, is a smart and excellent judge of player talent, that can make sound trades through savvy negotiations. Then this new Pres can then go hire his own GM and manager/coaches. I know Jerry is too clueless and stubborn to make this happen, but this is what is needed ideally for this team to be successful on consistent basis!

Tim Anderson Suspended Three Games - Has Appealed
The Kids Can Play replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This team as many on here have said numerous times, is significantly dumb and undisciplined. However the lack of accountability from TLR to the players is the major reason these players do what they do. Does anybody think these stupid incidents happen with a manager like Francona or Showalter, or any other good manager out there, who do preach fundamentals, discipline and accountability, as well as creating a positive winning team culture? Sadly it can't happen, but in reality, TLR should get the 3 day suspension as well, for being such a loser manager that created this dumb and undisciplined team culture! -
Don't trade anybody! The team was assembled by Hahn and Jerry. If this team fails and the Sox miss the playoffs, then after the season, Hahn TLR, all coaches, medical and training staffs ALL need to be terminated! Sadly, the demented and pathetic owner would have to do those moves. Unfortunately we all know with Jerry's past track record of ignorance, stubbornness and arrogance; those decisions might not go well.

Apparently Dylan Cease loves pitching in day games. In his last 5 day games (3 home, 2 road) he has the following results: W-L IP H ER BB K ERA 5-0 31 20 3 8 36 0.87 With all the terrible injuries and lack of hitting, pitching, fielding and managing on this team, one of the few bright spots to get excited about, is watching Dylan Cease pitch every 5 days!
-
I get his fastball is slower and not moving, but there are successful pitchers who only hit 92-94. The problem is he lacks confidence and control in his slider and you can't be a good starting pitcher today with only two pitches, one being an average fastball at best and a change-up. Terry Francona coached his team brilliantly against Gio the last time we played the Guardians, when he gave up 9 hits and 6 ER's in 3 innings. They did it by his approach of just guessing one or the other and feasting on it. In the off season I think Gio needs to develop one or two more different pitches that he can get over consistently with movement to add to his limited arsenal. Maybe make that two seam fastball, and or a cutter. He needs to make changes because what he is doing now isn't working.

This should not surprise anyone. Haven't we been going down this road the last two years? This is such a disappointing and flawed team. A .500 record in the worst division, after being the 4th overall betting odds favorite to win the 2022 world series before the season started. Thank you Jerry, Rick and Tony! May we have anther!

Graveman is a choker and not mentally tough. He might be ok in the 6th or 7th inning role, but as a closer...he sucks! Don't forget Ruiz also gave up a run starting his inning clean. He goes a clean inning and it's a different game. He sucks too and should be DFA.
-
I guess when your manager sucks, your GM makes several bad trades and signings and your team is always injured...I guess the old adage is true, "You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit!"
-
I love it! Very creative and excellent slogan!

He should be up in September! He is a stud. Hence why trading him in all these silly rumors and trade scenarios is plain dumb. Who cares if its only double AA. He is killing it. If you look at all great players on the ML level throughout the league they all had to go through the minors. However talent is talent and eventually he looks like he could be a great player.

Actually that is not what I said in any my posts. I actually think the Sox will not make the playoffs in 2022. However the window isn't closed for 2023 and 2024 and beyond. They do not have to be a .500 team over the next five years. That doesn't mean the Sox can't retool the team and go for it again in 2023 or 2024. Even if the Sox did sneak into the playoffs this year, they are not good enough to go far and for sure not compete for a world series championship. As a result, since we are not good enough to win right now, the Sox should take a slight step back and not give away any valuable future prospects at the deadline, for a player or two that will not help us win this year. Actually if anything, the Sox should be sellers and dump salaries and get back some prospects. Then in 2023 and 2024 the Sox with a much lower payroll, can go aggressively in the FA market to add talent. We still have some good talent here, along with either key trades or signing some free agents to get it strong again. There are too many holes on this team and if you think adding Happ, or another player, with the serious flaws of this starting rotation, horrible bullpen and underperforming and inconsistent offense, which lacks power and plate discipline is capable of wining the world series this year, then you are not being realistic or logical. As painful and frustrating as it, Sox fans need be realistic and not have their fandom blinders on.
-
You are right, the goals were to win multiple championships and be in the playoffs yearly like the Dodgers and Astros. However some good plans get sidetracked and this team although it initially looked good is actually flawed severely. Yet the window isn't closed....as it is just slowed down or delayed. We still have some great players. We just need to ne sellers on a few players and and then dump some payroll and go after FA's in 2023 and 2024. When you are close to winning a championship is when you add those pieces. The Sox are not close and it would be stupid to give away prospects for players that won't help us win a WS championship. I love the Sox as much as anyone in here and desperately want another WS championship, but at some point we need to face reality and not have our fandom blinders on.

This is the Dumbest Team in Baseball
The Kids Can Play replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
100 percent agree! There are too many holes on this team and we are not even remotely close to competing with the Yankees, Dodgers and Astros. Keep the prospects we have and not give them away since a world series isn't happening. We need to be be sellers. -
What is the damn rush? Colas is only 23 yrs old. What window is running out? You want to keep trading away prospects for established average players, which is the same crap that Kenny Williams did for years that ruined this team after he got lucky in 2005. This why Kenny isn't involved in the decisions any longer. Guess what, we will still need players in 2023 and 2024 and on, because we have several players who will be FA's over the next few years and there is no guarantee they will remain here.
-
I totally agree with you. That proposed trade would be Hahn's dumbest trade ever. I agree with you that panicking now and making some quick fixes is not smart and let's do this after the season. The fact is even if we add a piece or two, we are not good enough to contend with the Yankees, Dodgers and Astros. There are just too holes on this team. Love the Weekend At Bernie’s manager reference!

Eloy is still hurt, TLR still putting him in LF
The Kids Can Play replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The chants "Fire Tony need to get louder and last longer! Thanks again Jerry! Then again, this could be the drunken POS TLR defying Hahn to send a message he doesn't want Hahn second guessing his managing skills. Didn't Hahn learn this yet...Tony is the smartest guy in this organization? -
Bo Jackson covered all Uvalde victims' funerals
The Kids Can Play replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Good for Bo. He is a great person and a class act. I have read often he has spent his money often on causes like this or just good charities in general. -
Everyone here is assuming that the Sox have determined 100 percent that Crochet will never be a starter. I sure would like someone on this forum to show me the documentation where this was publicly stated for the record from the front office. Base on your premise if he is just a seed, why would any team want him or give us anything back in great value in return on a trade?
