  1. You are absolutely right many Sox fans have not seen likes of the 1977 Hitmen, unless of course they were around for the great 1994 team that was screwed of their chance to do damage in the playoffs, due to the fine efforts of their owner Reinsdorf and a few others, that made sure the 1994 season was cancelled. 1977 Sox: .278/.344/.444/.788 1994 Sox: .287/.366/.444/.810 Those were two of my favorite four Sox teams, along with the '83 winning ugly team and the '05 WS champs.
  2. Here is a good option: We need some ridiculous rich billionaire with Jeff Bezos like money, to come in and make an offer so insane that even Jerry can't pass it up. The offer is so attractive it even accounts for the hundreds of millions to handle the taxes of the sale, that Jerry whines about he doesn't want his family to suffer with. Then that owner goes out and recruits Andrew Friedman away from the Dodgers and not only pays him more money (record salary for sports team pres.) and makes Friedman the new Pres of Baseball Ops, along with giving him an attractive ownership % stake. Then finally, the new owner goes out and signs Ohtani to the richest contract ever. Although Chicago isn't LA where Ohtani apparently likes to live, since LA is closer to Japan since his wife likes to go back to visit often, the new owner agrees to let Ohtani and his wife use his private jet anytime to fly back to Japan. Then the city throws a parade even before we win a WS title, just to celebrate the new owner getting rid of JR and his loser FO.
  3. Hahn might be known as a lawyer, but he will never be known as a good negotiator. To your point on what he stands for, Hahn stands for two things: 1. Being great at deceiving his boss JR and literally have the greatest GM gig in the last two decades, when every other GM in sports is totally jealous that Hahn can be so inept at his job and still be employed. 2. Hahn is the new poster child for the "Peter Principle" of Sports GM's
  4. If Robert were to traded, then you would see a fanbase and media finally push back like never before. If JR allowed Hahn to do that, then we can officially close the book on speculating whether JR is mentally healthy and dealing with normal cognitive functions.
  5. As we travel to our next opponent the Rangers, here some things to note: Sox are 43-64 - 21 games under 500 (.402) Home 23-29 AWAY 20-35 55 games remaining - 26 away - 29 home With all the new players coming up and all the old players being traded...let's be realistic, 100 losses is still probable. The Sox only need to finish 19-36 (.345). Keep in mind since the second half, the Sox are 5-10 (.250) DATE TEAM W-L DATE TEAM W-L 1-Aug 3 @ Texas Rangers 60-45 7-Aug 3 vs. New York Yankees 59-47 4-Aug 3 @ Cleveland Guardians 53-53 11-Aug 3 vs. Milwaukee Brewers 57-49 15-Aug 2 @ Chicago Cubs 53-52 21-Aug 3 vs. Seattle Mariners 53-51 18-Aug 3 @ Colorado Rockies 41-64 24-Aug 4 vs. Oakland Athletics 30-77 28-Aug 3 @ Baltimore Orioles 63-41 1-Sep 3 vs. Detroit Tigers 47-59 4-Sep 3 @ Kansas City Royals 32-75 11-Sep 3 vs. Kansas City Royals 32-75 8-Sep 3 @ Detroit Tigers 47-59 14-Sep 4 vs. Minnesota Twins 54-53 18-Sep 3 @ Washington Nationals 44-62 25-Sep 3 vs. Arizona Diamondbacks 56-49 22-Sep 3 @ Boston Red Sox 56-48 29-Sep 3 vs. San Diego Padres 51-54 26 29
  6. Of course Grifol is dumb. He spent all his coaching years for the loser KC organization. Then the KC GM knew he was dumb and bypassed him to hire his next manager an outside bench coach from the Rays. Btw, the GM who threw in the towel is even dumber! LOL!
  7. The egos of the FO will never admit their mistakes because they don't have to be critical of themselves. Plus the FO is inept and really bad at any proper evaluations. They can live in constant excuses and rationalizations for their mistakes, because their boss JR will never criticize or fire them. What a gig if you can get it.
  8. Apparently Grifol figured since TA has been hot lately, even though it was strictly from the #2 spot, it would be better to put TA back at the leadoff spot. Then even more brilliant, Grifol decided to move Benintendi to 5th, even though he has done a great job leading off. I guess Grifol felt since it's not broken at 1 & 2 in the order, he would change things up from the old adage...and assume it was broken and it needed to be fixed.
  9. Don't wonder, it's not there. Player evaluations are horrible in both the scouting to even drafting quality prospects. Then once they are in our farm system, they often times incorrectly evaluate which ones are good or bad. Then if they do determine they are potentially very good, our player development coaches are inept and will slow or ruin their progress. As we've said ad nauseum, until we get a younger modern day Pres/GM, from outside the Sox org that knows how to evaluate talent and get it successfully developed...this will never change.
  10. A good idea, a nap is much more peaceful and less stressful.
  11. And ironically we got both Kopech and Moncada together for Chris Sale. Isn't that special!
  12. That is Jake's 4th walk in the last three games. Give him some credit, he is trying to be more patient.
  13. True under the Sox mentoring and fixing capabilities. If he went to the Rays or some other good team, I'm confident they could get more out of him than the Sox.
  14. So shocking to see Kopech struggle after two innings with 5 walks. ?
  15. I recall seeing a YT video on it with a full speed run and on a flat surface.
  16. Wasn't the 110 MPH pitch with a running start? Maybe he should have been a Javelin thrower instead.
  17. Good point, the kid is only 19 years old and thank god he chose to play for the Sox and pass on his full ride to Vanderbilt. The kid could be special and we can't ruin him with the idiot logic of Hahn and Getz, who like making them relievers as a build up.
  18. Same on those two. If they are already starters then groom them to be starters. We can always find bullpen pitchers. A good starting pitcher is still the hardest position to scout and develop...to ultimately get great productivity at the major league level. Hence why the SP's are such a hot commodity right now during the MLB trading frenzy. Btw, Bush got torched yesterday in the AA Barons 9-4 loss. 3.1 IP, 12 Hits, 7 ER, 1 BB, 0 K's, 2 HR
  19. No No No! When is this dysfunctional organization going to quit rushing SP's up to be relievers and screw up there progress. Ok , it worked one time when they took Sale up rapidly and made him a closer. Then fortunately Sale still became a stud starter. However it failed miserably with Kopech and Crochet. When are they going to learn a lesson? Please please please NO on Schultz.
  20. Yes Tim is has hit much better since the All-Star break, but keep in perspective, Tim has those numbers hitting #2. Maybe batting second took the pressure off hitting #1 for Tim. Benintendi was doing fine at #1 and actually better since moving from #2 to #1. Evidently Grifol forgot the old adage, "If it's not Broke, don't Fix it!"
