  1. You're damn right this thread needs to close out! Whoever wrote this article at the Athletic is an ignorant moron. First of all, that list of Sox players is more than enough and secondly, that would be a massively stupid trade for the Sox to make. Soto is great but he isn't worth that much! Plus there is no way Andrew Vaughn is being traded or part of any future trade package. To think we would trade Robert and Cease for Soto is pure insanity and laughable! We already have one of the worst farm systems and now the Sox would give up even more with Montgomery, Colas and Vera, along with Eloy and Vaughn, or Robert and Cease is pure nonsense and absurd! Having a great player is not enough to assure winning a World Series, if you don't have enough talent around him. Hmm, how is that working out for the Angels with Mike Trout for the last 12 years?
  2. I completely thought a concussion too when they said lightheadedness, but sad and wrong the Sox are so secretive about why Robert was not playing. Just another example of why this FO is so flawed!
  3. I'm not sure if that was a baseball or a missile launched from Robert's bat.
  4. I agree he is handsome and you misread my post. Go back and read it again. I was giving Tom a compliment as he looks amazing for 60, as opposed to TLR who looks horrible at 77.
  5. Yeah its a good lineup, but don't forget, and our hitters this year with their horrible plate discipline and approach, have a knack at making loser pitchers like Civale and his 6.28 ERA look like Cy Young pitcher! I am confident with the expert coaching of TLR and Menechino, our boys will being hitting plenty of groundballs, swinging at frequent first pitches, getting plenty of 0-2 and 1-2 counts and swinging at plenty of pitches outside the zone.
  6. As our headline should read: The White Sox FO remain loyal to Tony LaRussa and will ride this season out with him. The owner remains loyal and committed to his buddy, even if this potential great Sox team finishes under 500, continues to underperform, has a toxic clubhouse culture and doesn't make the playoffs in the weakest division in baseball. The owner simply doesn't mind or care if things slip away.
  7. Tom Cruise is now 60 and he doesn't look anywhere near 60 years old. On the other hand, TLR is 77 and he looks awful for his age and is much older than 77 in both mental and physical health.
  8. The Blue Jays are struggling with a talented team and still 4 games above 500 in the best division in baseball, as opposed to the White Sox who are are struggling with just as much talent and 3 games below 500 in the worst division in baseball. Hmmmm, wonder why the Phillies fired Joe Girardi and the Angles fired Joe Maddon and now Charlie Montoyo of the Blue Jays...and we still have our drunken and demented loser manager in tact. I know the arrogant and clueless Reinsdorf doesn't want to admit he made a colossal mistake hiring TLR. Yet at what point does he stop this nonsense and stubbornness and do the right thing. I understand he doesn't give a shit and only cares about money, but my god, at what point does this idiot owner have some f'ing pride and quit embarrassing himself and his legacy.
  9. Damn shame TLR isn't a man of his word. He said publicly that if his team ever quit on him he would quit. The fact he is so delusional not being able to recognize that his team has quit on him, or so damn arrogant and stubborn to admit his team quit on him, is a pitiful state of affairs for diehard Sox fans, that were promised significantly better results now into our 6th year of the rebuild. The sad thing even if TLR is fired, we still have his loser coaches and Rick Hahn who assembled this team poorly and also let the farm system become one of the worst in baseball.
  10. In the business world they call that the "Peter Principle"
  11. Please Dylan, be smarter tonight and more efficient with your pitches. Lets not get up to the upper 90's to 100 pitches in just 5 innings. Let's get you through 7 innings and hopefully the bats give you major lead early on.
  12. Totally agree! This team was having way more fun in the dugout in 2020 under Renteria. Yes Renteria had major faults and needed to go, but at least the players played hard for him and they didn't feel this pressure that does now exist in that dugout. There is no doubt the drunkard and demented TLR casted a huge negative toxic culture on this team. You see with the players as they are not having fun and playing without any confidence. This is probably why the players are making so many mental mistakes on the field due to this toxic culture that TLR created for this team. I'm not sure Madden would be the answer, but I do know this...he would be a 100 times better than the POS TLR.
  13. First of all, Schwarber only singed a 4 year 79 million contract or 19,750 million a year. Secondly, Kyle would have been a decent right fielder as he has only made one error all year in left field in 74 games with two assists, as he has a very strong arm. He would definitely be better than anyone we have put out in right this year. Thirdly, Schwarber has 27 home runs which is 9 more than Abreu and Robert combined and tied for the total amount of home runs of our top three hitters Abreu/Robert/Vaughn! Lastly, Schwarber has played in 80 of 82 games this season and stays healthy, which is something several of our players have a big problem with. Again, I get Jerry wouldn't want to spend the money for Schwarber, but that is why we have blasted this arrogant loser owner all year for his ineptness as an owner.
  14. Not silly or ridiculous at all. LF Haseley is the reason Mendick is out for the season with a torn ACL. In that play it was Haseley's responsibility to call off Mendick loudly with waving arms, which he obviously did not do and thus a serious season ending ACL injury for Mendick. Then you had the Moncada/Seby near collision the other game. That could have been ugly, The fact of the matter was it was Moncada's fault as he did not yell loud enough or call Seby off. The fact is, this has happened numerous times all season long where we they are constantly having near collisions because they are not fundamentally strong in the field on flyballs and popups.
  15. What are the betting odds for number of games before he is injured again?
  16. You are right, JR doesn't give a shit about the fans. All he cares about his his bottom line profit. Yet if the attendance dropped drastically and a huge loss in ballpark food, drinks, alcohol and merchandise happened, then maybe that might get this arrogant and loser owner to care.
  17. Definitely missing the playoffs and a losing season as you suggested would definitely help. However the biggest factor that would wake up JR for him to make a FO and manager change is to experience a lack of fan support and attendance! A strong and loud message from the fans where the in-park attendance drops off dramatically! It would be poetic justice for the fans to let JR see under 10K or even better 5K in the park! Can you imagine the embarrassment of only 5K fans on a Saturday and Sunday weekend? Let him feel it on his bottom line, when the sales in the park for food, drink, alcohol and merchandise are all affected drastically, not to mention the horrible empty park look! I realize this probably won't happen, based on the fierce loyal fans...but it should happen! This is the only guaranteed way to affect major change. The fans must make this arrogant and clueless owner lose money and feel it on his bottom line profit. It's either this, JR passes away, or one of the sons takes over the team and has full control.
  18. There are three reasons to move Jose: 1. Great trade value to get quality prospects that can help us down the road, especially since Jose is on a hot steak! 2. He will be 36 next season. At what point does his production go down? Do you wait until you get little or nothing back for him or worst case he leaves as a free agent and we get nothing? Now is the time to make the trade while we can get some good prospects back. The fact is Jose is on target to hit 21 HR's and 77 RBI's which would be his lowest totals in his 10 seasons here, other than the 2020 pandemic 60 game season. 3. We are already playing two first baseman out of position. It's about Andrew Vaughn plays full time at first base.
  19. This is just the explanation point for the season on how dumb our players are running the bases. We've had tons of baserunning mistakes all season and of course this is the worst one yet. At this point the team is just embarrassing themselves on the field. Moncada is either really stupid or mentally not in the game. This crap only happens in little league. He needs to get some serious psychological counseling. He hasn't looked focused all season. Engel obviously choked under pressure and had a brain malfunction not to stay at 2nd to tag up. However, the two most guilty people here are Daryl Boston and Joe McEwing. Why in the hell did Boston not scream at Moncada to stay at first? Why did McEwing not wave his arms and scream to send Engel back to tag? I'm sorry but both these coaches have made numerous poor coaching moves all season at first and third. This has to be collectively the worst and most pitiful coaching staff in baseball. Of course the demented HOF manager keeps his job. Btw, I was watching TLR's post game comments and I had a hard time understanding one word he was mumbling about. This what happens when an idiot, arrogant and stupid owner hires a clown manager...you get this circus!
  20. Robert's problem is not his swing. His swing is fine. His problem is, he isn't patient enough at the plate and swings at too many pitches outside the zone. Robert leads MLB in O-Swing% at 48.6%. Case in Point: MLB Home Run leaders HR O-Swing% Aaron Judge - 28 28.1 Mike Trout - 23 24.3 Yordan Alvarez - 23 25.3 Kyle Schwarber - 23 24.2 Pete Alonso - 22 33.7 Anthony Rizzo - 20 30.7 Byron Buxton - 20 32.6 Paul Goldschmidt - 19 30.4 Christian Walker - 19 24.9 Luis Robert - 8 48.6 Robert has the swing and power to hit more home runs, but not with his current batting plate discipline and approach.
  21. Yep and if he needs any assistance, he can always reach out to Kenny Williams or his buddy Jerry!
  22. Agreed Boras is a problem, but we don't have to worry about that with Cease until 2026. He can at least help us during a retool for three years. Then maybe he loves it enough here that Cease tells Boras to make it happen with the Sox. Greg Maddux did the same thing with Boras when he signed his last big contract with the Braves. Maddux didn't want go to another team when he clearly could have gone anywhere. Not all players are greedy for the money. Boras is brutally aggressive and ruthless, but he doesn't make the decisions for the players. Plus if Cease still keeps getting better, which has been his path so far each year, then the prospects we can get back in a few years, will be way more plentiful than right now. As far as Kopech goes, again we have until 2030 so plenty of time to see if he will even be worth resigning.
  23. You're right and maybe he chose the wrong trainer. Maybe he should have spent time with his buddy Jose and his trainer in the off season, as Jose seems to work out harder and smarter.
  24. They are too young and have too much upside, to not resign both of them. Getting rid of Cease would be a monumental mistake, based on how healthy and in great pitching shape he keeps himself in. Cease is only 26 years old and isn't a FA until 2026 and Kopech in 2030. There is plenty of time before they have to worry about getting value for them in trades. If you are dumping just about everyone else hypothetically, except for Anderson, Vaughn Robert, Cease and Kopech, then they can afford to pay them.
