  1. Cease needs to go 7 innings with a dominating pitching performance. He is going up against the 30th ranked team in runs scored per game! Dylan, please keep the walks down!
  2. That is the beauty of it. Trading Abreu at the deadline if he wasn't hitting would get the Sox little value back. However, if Abreu is on fire and tearing it at the trade deadline like is is now, then the Sox should be able to get a quality return of prospects back from some contending team who needs that final piece to win the it all. Hopefully that would be in pitching prospects who can make it up in the next year or two and contribute in a huge way! We have Vaughn to play first base. They might as well put him there since he was the 2019 #3 overall pick and proving he could be an longtime all star. It makes zero sense to keep playing Vaughn out of position. We also know Abreu is going to be 35 yrs old and how many more productive years do we get from him...and not to mention he is a FA after the season. Get a huge haul now and let's thank Jose for all your great years.
  3. Another great offensive display. That is 42 runs in last five games or 8.20 runs per game! Abreu is starting to light it up as he usually does when it gets warmer. Since May 15, when he was batting .197, in the last 25 games he is batting .344 and raised his BA to .260. Sousa and Crick still suck as does Ruiz who thankfully didn't pitch. It's so pathetic we don't have any pitching down in Charlotte to bring up. If this franchise is ever going to be a WS contender, either Hahn or his replacement, will have to someday figure out how to scout, sign and develop pitchers like the other winning clubs do! Regardless of the win, TLR still sucks and needs to be fired. Even with 8.2 runs a game in the last five games we are only 2-3 - W-L!
  4. True and it's embarrassing and absurd he isn't fired yet! FIRE TONY!!!!!!
  5. They forced Vaughn and Sheets to learn to play the OF, which they never played before in their entire baseball career. I'm am quite sure Burger could have attempted and learned to play LF or RF. Burger could also have been used for DH more!
  6. Until this is officially proven true and not hearsay, this is not worthy of SoxTalk. Hell, the drunken TLR got a second DUI and still was allowed to be the Sox manager.
  7. Hmm, and Sheets wasn't a horrible fielder as well? Sheets was hitting a worse BA at .203 and in his previous 8 games was 2-18. I would call that a horrible slump as well and worthy of being sent down. The only reason Sheets made the cut was he was left handed. I would have kept the better hitter Burger and screw the left handed power angle...because Sheets was an easy out most times at the plate.
  8. I'm remember when Jerry Reinsdorf did not have the intelligence or backbone to stop Hawk Harrelson from firing his so called buddy TLR in 1986. Then in 1997-1998 as the owner of his other team, the Bulls, I remember when the inept JR after winning his 6th NBA championship, once again did not have the balls or knowledge to stop Krause from getting rid of Phil Jackson and Michael Jordan. Having said that, I just accepted JR didn't like to override his GM's. Oh wait, I remember when this clown owner two years ago changed his management track record and decided to override Hahn and make the decision to hire his buddy TLR as the manager...because that is what all owners do.
  9. Let's go Lance! Make your first start this season a memorable one!
  10. The stats are the full picture and he was hitting far better than Sheets or Mendick that should have been sent down. Maybe he isn't the best fielder yet, but he also hasn't had enough big league games to get more polished at 3rd. Many years ago long before the DH, there were many hitters that were bad fielders and played daily because of their bat. Go back and look at who was at DH every game and so many times Burger could have been at DH even before Moncada got injured. With the horrendously weak hitting team, Burger should have stayed up. I guess we will agree to disagree!
  11. Absolutely Yes! Katz has made Cease, Giolito and Kopeck all pitch better. The bullpen issues are not his fault. That is the fault of the TLR. For the record, there are many articles out there that suggest TLR relied heavily on Dave Duncan for those pitching bullpen decisions and development of the pitching staff. Oh yeah, Dave Duncan isn't there to carry him any longer. There is no doubt in my mind TLR does not listen to Katz or any other coach and makes his own pitching move decisions. Case in point, I realize Lopez has been up and down this year, but when he was lights out yesterday, why in the hell did he only keep him in for 1.1 innings? Lopez is a long reliever and ex-starter. It was ridiculous to not let Lopez pitch longer to save the bullpen and eat up more innings.
  12. Not so fast! Actually he was not hitting as bad as so many others! Burger's last game before being sent down was May 8th and he was hitting .239. After that same game on 5-8, Sheets was was hitting .203, Mendick .217, Harrison .145, Engel .222, Garcia .182, Grandal .185, McGuire .152! I understand some of these guys couldn't be let go. However the fact is he was doing better than Sheets and Mendick who could be sent down or DFA Harrison.
  13. Good point and oh yeah they decided earlier in the season to send him down to Charlotte.
  14. No Shit Buster Olney! Wow, that is why they pay you the big bucks to make such profound and enlightening statements! I'm glad you could inform us about this fact on June 12, 2022...when the rest of the baseball world knew this the day TLR was hired. No wonder why ESPN sucks in baseball coverage.
  15. It shouldn't even come down to how the team finishes. He is doing a horrible job right now and has been all season. He deserves to be fired today. TLR has as much talent as the Phillies and Angels and both those managers with World Series rings on their resume; were fired!
  16. Great creativity! This is funny and sadly true!
  17. At least Yermin had his proverbial 15 minutes of fame! Ha Ha! Strange though they waited this long and wasted a AAA roster spot on Yermin. Once again it shows us, there are serious flaws in the managers, coaches and front office regarding the player selections and development of our entire minor league system!
  18. Can't be soon enough! Please TA and Kelly...stretch diligently and properly and don't let their be any setbacks!
  19. 1. Saddens you that the fans chanting is ridiculous. They pay a lot money to attend these games. They spend a small fortune on food and drinks to feed Jerry's pocket. - They have every right to voice their displeasure with this despicable and demented loser manager ruining this club. 2. They don't chant "Sell the team Jerry" or Fire Hahn! - I wish they would chant that more often and louder. Maybe if 30K fans chanted "Sell the Team" extremely loud and clear, even though it wouldn't change anything, at least Jerry and Hahn could see the pain of the fans and how stupid Jerry's decision was to hire TLR. 3. To boo Tony like that is to imply he's the problem. - It's not implying he is a problem... it's a fact he is the problem! You defending him is not only ridiculous, but you're being a total contrarian! Yes the bullpen sucks, but TLR has repeatedly blown games with his wrong choices of pitchers. 4. How about a lineup that most of the year has four to five automatic outs. - News Flash!...TLR hired this pathetic hitting coach Menechino who has this team hitting worse than when Renteria managed the club. Note - I wanted Renteria gone as much as anyone, but he looks like a genius compared to our bumbling manager. Agreed TLR inherited this group of players underperforming and Rick Hahn definitely has to take major blame for that. The bottom line is, when a team struggles that had high expectations, managers have to take the blame and be unfortunately fired. Hence why Girardi from the Phillies and Maddon from the Angels were fired in the last two weeks. 5. Singling out Tony IMO is very dumb and reflects poorly on Sox fans - You get my vote for one of the top contrarians of the year on SoxTalk with ridiculous statements like that. 6. Really makes a fan look spoiled and dumb. - That is such bullshit! Our Sox fans are dedicated, loyal and smart fans. Maybe the die-hard Sox fans are finally tired of this unacceptable and pathetic manager and voicing their displeasure.
  20. Fire Tony! TLR is making a mockery of this Sox organization with his ignorant and horrible managerial decisions on lineups and bullpen use. He has drained the energy from this once exciting and dynamic team. If this demented and overly arrogant manager had any common decency and pride, he would resign and not continue to be ridiculed nationally by all sports networks and more importantly, continuing to derailing this talented championship contender. FIRE TONY AGAIN ASAP!
  21. There are tons all over the internet besides the MLB network, which of course they are! Here are just a few comments regarding the smartest man in the room at all times! The Sporting News - Edward Sutelan - Tony LaRussa's decision to walk Trea Turner baffles everyone: 'He had two strikes, Tony' USA Today Sports - Blake Schuster - If you wanted to make an argument that White Sox manager Tony LaRussa is doing his best to get fired, then you wouldn't need much more evidence than Thursday afternoon. FanGraphs - Ben Clemens - "The math unsurprisingly does not support Tony LaRussa's decision to intentionally walk Tre Turner.
  22. He is already demented and acting like a senile over the hill manager at 77, soon to be 78. Based his druken' history and cognitive skills, I seriously doubt he lives to anywhere close to 91.
  23. Yeah the hitting in Charlotte has never been the problem for the 21-36 club that has the 18th best record of 20 teams in the International AAA league. The team has a .258 BA which is 3rd highest. The problem is their putrid pitching which is last at 6.11 ERA. I have no idea why Lambert is coming up, as he contributed to that team ERA with his pathetic 9.24 ERA. Maybe the Charlotte hitting coach can come up and give some hitting tips to our hitting guru coach Menechino, who was hand picked by our demented HOF'er TLR.
  24. Can someone please send this message to our demented owner JR, along with the Joe Girardi termination announcement.
  25. Vaughn and Burger need to play. If Moncada plays 3rd, then Burger should be DH over Sheets or Grandal who should not play. Mendick over Harrison at 2nd. Engel over Pollack. Come on TLR, quit being a druken' demented old man and make a great lineup tonight so we can beat the Dodgers. Mendick 2B, Vaughn LF, Robert CF, Abreu 1B, Burger DH, Moncada 3B, Engel RF. McGuire C, Garcia SS
