  1. The betting lines also favor the Astros at -134 on the Win line and the Sox +115 and the run line +1 for the Sox?
  2. The media loves to make the Astros look like the better team than the Sox because they swept us at their park in the first half. The fact is we had a lineup then that featured Mendick, Goodwin Lamb and Mercedes. They did not see Robert, and Jimenez, nor Tepera and Kimbrel.
  3. It's not about whether the Dodgers spent their money more wisely than the Yankees. It's about the fact, the Dodgers spent an insane amount of money at 267 million. to buy a championship. I wonder how good the Dodgers would be this year spending a 127 million less and then let's see if they would still be so dominant. Or more importantly, do you think perhaps the Sox would be even better if Hahn could have spent another 127 million this year. I know that is the way it is in MLB, but it's not fair. It's not how it's done in the other three major pro sports where they have salary caps. Btw, your point about the Dodgers being a competitive team without spending the excessive money is unknown and untrue, as they have always spent money excessively and more than most other teams every year. Until the Dodgers spend the league average and still then still remain a powerhouse, please don't talk to me about how good the Dodgers are.
  4. I hope they lose! The Dodgers spent $267 million to buy the World Series vs the Sox who spent $140 million. It would so ironic and poetic justice if the Dodgers lost tonight. Then the top two teams in MLB payrolls, in back to back nights are eliminated. Go Cardinals!
  5. I was thinking the same thing. Based on the interviews and comments from the various Sox players, I know they believe in themselves and feel the same way. Whether than happens or not remains to be seen, but we are damn good enough to beat the Astros, so let's do it!
  6. Interesting the top three pitchers listed are all UFA's in 2022. It sure would be nice to have Ray or Gausman in a Sox uniform next season. It's time for Jerry to allow Hahn to spend more money.
  7. That is a great summation and proves even further that Hahn deserves a ton of credit. Most importantly not only did he do an awesome job in this rebuild to get us to be playoff contenders, he brilliantly locked up several key players so we can be competitive and be knocking on the door to a WS for the next several years. I didn't like giving up Madrigal for Kimbrel, but if Kimbrel rocks in the playoffs and we win the WS, then that move will have been worth it.
  8. The Sox do have a great shot at pushing for HFA throughout the AL playoffs. It is seriously important because we have the best home record in the AL. However it won't matter if LA or SF or any other NL team has a better record than the Sox, because this year in the WS, the AL has the HFA.
  9. I'm glad the Yankees have a ton of players on the IL. I'm tired of the Yankees thinking they can go buy a championship. The Yankees have the 2nd highest payroll in MLB and approximately 64 million more than the White Sox. I sure hope we put our A team on the field for Lynn tonight. The Sox need to pound Heaney with his 5.45 ERA. I'm tired of watching our Sox make these loser pitchers with their high 4 and 5 ERA's look like Cy Young pitchers. Hopefully the Sox can get back to being more patient and working the counts more. We have gone down in walks and pitches taken. The last two loses to Twins were 1 BB, 11 K's and 3 BB's, 10 K's. We are swinging at way too many pitches outside the zone. It shows in the fact we used to be 1st or 2nd in team OBP and now have fallen to 4th at our current lowest OBP of the year at .331! Go Sox and embarrass the Yankees tonight in front of the Fox, ESPN and MLB networks that are all heavily are bias to the Yankees.
  10. It's sad but true. We have made several shitty pitchers lately look like a Cy Young contender.
  11. Saying it 100% eliminates the Sox from home field advantage is ridiculous and premature. We are only 2.5 games back from Tampa for best AL record. We have 48 games left. Here is why will have a great chance and getting HFA all the way through the playoffs: 1. We added Robert and Jimenez and Hernandez to the lineup. Without these three and playing much weaker players in our lineup, we were already one of the best teams in AL all year. 2. We added Tepera and Kimbrel to the bullpen now giving us one the best bullpens. Even with resting Rodon for awhile and giving more starts to Lopez & Kopech, doesn't mean we cant finish with best record in AL. We have the best home record in the AL, so you're right our chances would be far better playing at Guaranteed Rate in the playoffs. Obviously if we are fortunately enough to get to the World Series, the AL has the home field advantage this year.
  12. You are right as usual! How dare anyone especially me disagree with you. My bad, it wont happen again.
  13. Btw, if you check all posts involving Ron, you will find many posters here call Ron names. If the shoes fits; wear it!
  14. Good point! From now on everybody gets an "agree to disagree" from me. LOL
  15. Sign both, but your suggested salaries for Rodon are too high. It wont take 20 million. I would definitely trade Kuechel.
  16. I think it's the other way around you didn't stay on point. You seem to have this mission or grudge to always attack me on every single comment I make. I noticed when someone doesn't agree with you, the intense attacks come out. I guess you don't follow the old adage, "I guess we'll have to agree to disagree". I can understand that aspect of you, when you seem to be on this forum 24/7 all day long. Btw FYI, using contrarian is not name calling. It's not some ugly swear word as you seem to think.
  17. ok whatever, all I am saying is that idiot Ron said I was the some old account where I had a Jack McKeon avatar and that is a lie.
  18. Ok then check the IP address. If you want to discuss this with me in private emails that would be fine.
  19. Check the email, I have never had a Jack McKeon avatar.
  20. No personal attack at all. You are as usual, way too sensitive if anyone disagrees with you. I was just addressing the fact that Moncada being a former #1 prospect in MLB and the bigger piece to the Chris Sale trade. I already told you my mistake I should not have compared Garcia in RBI's. I am only saying based on that Sale trade, Moncada is a big disappointment. He also is not as good as Kopech, the secondary piece of that trade.
  21. No comparison. Kopech at this stage is clearly the better player. Kopech also has a much brighter upside future. Are you sure you watched any Sox games this year?
  22. Dude, you need to address the original post. Quit rambling about how good Moncada is or isn't. The fact is the bigger piece of the Chris Sale trade was Moncada over Kopech. Based on that, right now who is the better player with a brighter Sox future? Is it Moncada or Kopech? If you say Moncada, then you truly are the #1 SoxTalk delusional contrarian on this forum.
  23. No that was not me. I have never had a Jack McKeon avatar. I have not had a different account ever. You can check with admin and my email on record has always been the same.
