Eloy will sit for 4 days and then they'll IL him with a torn meniscus.

Even if we get Robert back, Elvis balls out, and somehow Katz stops Gio's bleeding we still don't win this division. Watch the two managers this weekend. Francona will embarrass the HOFBP all series. There's a reason Cleveland kicks our ass and it's not the talent on the field. Give Francona our lineup and he wins this division going away.

8/18 Finale vs. Astros (Giolito v. Garcia RHP) 1:10 PM
PitchatRisktoZisk replied to bmags's topic in 2022 Season in Review
Back to reality. This team did what EVERY team in MLB does in a 162 game season; won 5 in a row. It was a total mirage and today brings us back to reality. We go to Cleveland 3 back and will leave there 4-6 games back and done. No "fear" of a stretch run to save the season and TLR's job. Clean this entire front office and coaching staff out please. -
Borderline criminal with a roster that mashed the ball last year. Frank thinks its 1959. Thanks Tony.

They need to get this done NOW. It is a no-brainer. We clearly have no truly major league ready SS to throw into a 3 team race with 6 weeks to go. Even if Andres is a bust, he's a proven major leaguer that could give you some upside the last 6 weeks. It would be baseball malpractice by Hahn not to get this done. Wait a minute.......Hahn...... never mind. He'll blow it or TLR will platoon Andres with Leury/Sosa/Romy.
-
Here's a thought..... stop f'ing sliding head first. That's at least the 3rd time he's gotten hurt doing that between the Minors and here. Go in spikes high and it will be the last time the 2nd baseman drops his knee in front of the bag. Take off the oven mitt and sharpen your spikes.

Please let this be the case. This organization is so dysfunctional that firing FM isn't a given this off-season.

Tim Anderson out 4-6 weeks with torn ligament in his hand
PitchatRisktoZisk replied to chw42's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think there are many of us that would sign up for that right now. However, JR/RH/HOFBP will NEVER do it. Get ready for signing of Didi or Simmons to play SS while TA is down. Leury is hurting and having him be the everyday SS doesn't allow TLR to suboptimize multiple positions a week with Leury stuck at SS. -

Fabulous, thanks. Just the "face of the franchise" the Sox and MLB wants. -

Forgive my ignorance and I am NOT trying to troll, but what are Tim's "personal issues spilling into the public"? I am not in Chicago so I don't get much of the inside stuff except from this Board. Thanks! -
I'll bet you anything that in the off-season the team "leaks" a story from their paid shill Nightingale that Yoan was suffering from "long COVID" all year. Then they'll say that he's doing great and will be back to his real form in 2023. This will be leaked a few days before 2023 season tickets go on sale.

They will NEVER sell before tomorrow's deadline. They are incapable of admitting mistakes, of which TLR is the biggest. Besides, if JR doesn't let Hahn add more dead weight DH's and rental RP's tomorrow, fans will stop coming and JR won't be able to sell his $12 beers and overpriced parking.

07/30 - A's @ White Sox, 6:15 PM CT

Because this FO does not want to admit counting on him as starting RF was a total BS money saving move. -

I can hear tonight's excuses from the HOFBP..... "We lost to an All-Star pitcher, we caught Oakland at a bad time, we hit in bad luck all night". -

Please take Hahn's phone away from him so he can't trade what little talent we have in the minors for "help" this season. This team is done and they know it. Play out the string the next 2 months and then rebuild this roster in the off-season. -
It's an elaborate plot to further the narrative that injuries ruined the season AND to justify gutting our minor league system for 2 month rentals because "we're so close".
-
Hahn's head must be exploding. He can't even get a deal for marginal rentals. However, this is really bad news for us. He is incapable of judging talent and a) his desire to be relevant and b) TLR pushing for bullpen help, will cause him to GROSSLY over pay for marginal RP's so he can say he did something at the deadline. The little talent in our minor league system is highly at risk with this guy in charge.
-
I agree with your enthusiasm, but we'll be buyers not sellers at the deadline. JR has too many $12 beers to sell in August and September to wave the white flag. He'll gut the minors for 2 month rentals of RP's and Q. But to answer your question, anyone not named Cease or Robert is on my sell list.
-
We better not fall in love with this guy yet. Hahn is probably shopping him for a 2 month rental on a 36 year old reliever as we speak. Seriously, we are at a huge disadvantage with the depleted minor league system (thanks Rick). We have to either give multiple guys to match a single player from teams like SD, STL, LAD, or give up major league controllable talent to even compete. That's another reason Hahn at the helm scares the heck out of me. He HAS to make some deals to feel he is doing his job and getting the HOFBP more arms. He's going to gut us.
-
It's been a downward spiral, with glimpses of improvement since the ban on spider tac. If he doesn't find a way to get "right", he's not any help to the club.
-
With the added wildcard teams this year it will be even more of a seller's market. Hahn will freak out at the cost of any legit LF bat/RF answer. He'll add two meh BP arms and give away three good/solid prospects further gutting our farm system. He's done nothing at the deadline in his career to earn any belief he'll get this one right.

7/23 Sox / Guardians G2 6:15PM TLR promoted yet?
PitchatRisktoZisk replied to Vote4Pedro's topic in 2022 Season in Review
This entire organization is incompetent. A real team would tear this thing down and build it back with a real GM and manager. We'll be buyers of relief pitchers before the deadline. I'm out.
