6/10 White Sox vs Texas Rangers, 7:10
PitchatRisktoZisk replied to flavum's topic in 2022 Season in Review
Lopez getting the start tonight? Not talking about Nicki, I mean ReLo. -
Getting their act together is the key. They've proven they can lose to many of those bad teams already this season.

There are sooooo many things wrong with this team, but including tonight they are hitting .088 (3 for 34) with the bases loaded. Think about that for a minute. If that doesn't speak to how inept we've been with the bats I don't know what does. -

With our luck it's a tear and he's gone 2-3 months.

The only "take sign" Tony has given in 2 years was to Yermin and he ignored it. Tony decided that was enough of being ignored and went back to sleep.

David Ross thoroughly out-manging our HOF manager. Let that sink in a bit.

Stop insulting morons!

Other than TA and Vaughn, this team is filled with nothing but 8 and 9 hitters. Utter embarrassment. And of course, the genius manager leaves Ceuto out there an inning too long. This entire board has him out of the game after 6. What a fool.

TLR is an f'ing genius.

I sure hope your life insurance is fully paid. Someone in the stands could get kilt out there tonight. -

If we miss the playoffs they will fire the hitting coach, the bullpen coach and maybe the assistant trainer. That's it! TLR is going nowhere. We have shown NO ability to play 21st century baseball (e.g. focus on OPS, launch angle, shifting, etc.). We have a team of DH's and "high floor, low ceiling draft picks designed to "win now". They won't blow anything up and there's no help on the way anytime soon from the lowest rated farm system in baseball. This team as constituted either figures it out or we're stuck in the mud because Jerry isn't buying us out of our troubles. P.S. The only way Hahn loses his job is if there is any truth to the wrongful termination lawsuit in which he's named. It won't be for performance. -
Nah, c'mon. You're not serious. Did he really say the D didn't cost us the game? We gave them 30+ outs in 9 innings and probably another 30-40 pitches to play with.
-
Until Lynn and Cueto pitch and show they're healthy and effective I would not DFA him. I would send him to the pen based on performance and send a message to the team that if you don't perform you lose your job. Hell, use an "opener" in his spot until the other guys are ready. Every game he pitches is a bullpen day anyway, so just make it official.
-
These two things can both be true: -TLR has forgotten more about baseball than any of us on this board will ever know..... and -TLR has forgotten EVERYTHING he ever knew about baseball and is a complete empty shell on the bench
-
I'm no doctor, but he clearly did major damage. Obviously hamstring and potential knee issues. Based on his history and body type, I'm guessing torn hamstring and MCL tear.

Stand up guy taking the heat for making one bad pitch, while his teammates mail in another "it's too cold for me to give a shit performance". -
Understand your comment that blackout rules in the Chicagoland area don't apply to you. However, when the Sox play the Dodgers and Angels are you not blocked out from the Sox broadcast and forced to watch the local feed?
-
Totally agree. It's 2022, blackouts belong in the 70's with Bill Witrz. Today it has gotten out of control. Try this on for size; living in Hawaii we are 2,500 miles from the closest major league city. We are blacked out for FIVE TEAMS! Dodgers, Angels, Padres, A's, and Giants. Obviously we can't go to the games, so that argument is lame. I can only get the Dodgers and Angels if I pay for the Regional Sports network. I can't get the other three teams ANYWHERE! I'm paying mlb.tv for a fraction of the Sox games I should get. Until Congress strips MLB of the anti trust exemption, this is the crap we're stuck with.

Explains why they are the Orioles and Pirates.
