  1. MLB Gameday PbP: "Jake Burger singles on a pop up to shortstop"
  2. Yes. Now for those damn "woo" kids we can hear over the broadcast....
  3. Nice to see the healthy side of my Pollock - Engel platoon getting on base.
  4. Late reply, but I was going to go the Moises Alou route for suggestions here.
  5. I read this post right before Keuchel got a backwards K on a seamer / sinker down the middle.
  6. Harrison I am hoping will turn out to be a NICE budget signing.
  7. Seems like it's worthy of some sort of countdown thread.... the mandatory option thread.
  8. Yes it was nasty. Crazy horizontal movement. Tight and late breaking. I'm OK with him not recognizing THAT pitch. It's the rest of the at-bat that I have a problem with. Putting yourself into a position to have to defend against that pitch to begin with? Not good.
  9. That last slider that Eloy swung at near (not close enough to be "at") was nasty.
  10. Some might describe that as "tradable"
  11. Quintana, Sale, Eaton (2016 edition), capped off by Lynn dropping an F-Bomb.
  12. If these things don't come to fruition, at least we will have had some good conversations / reading.
  13. maybe a better link here if you're an Athletic subscriber: https://theathletic.com/1750136/2020/04/16/stark-the-home-run-that-broke-baseball-reference/
  14. Can we IL platoon Pollock and Engel? It's a new concept I just invented and I'm 100,000% sure nobody has ever thought of before. Just mandate that one must stay on the IL at all times. As soon as one goes down, the other is instantly activated.
  15. Newbie question: Is this the appropriate time to start a "Put Burger in the rotation" thread? Sorry, but Burger's defense at 3B is average. His bat is going to be above average hopefully, but a major league roster on a team supposedly contending for a world series victory is not the place to teach a questionable defensive talent how to play a middle infield position.
  16. Put Burger in the rotation. Makes just as much sense as putting him at 2B or any place other than a corner infield spot.
  17. Yes... depending on your definition of "walking distance." There's also free street parking available near the stadium if you don't mind a walk. There are also bars, restaurants, etc., by the old Tiger Stadium site (which is now a community ballpark) that have free shuttles to the games. Plus tickets are pretty easy to come by, so it's definitely worth a road trip.
  18. As a Detroit area denizen, downtown is a really nice place. The stadium district and down toward the river are really f'ing cool places.
  19. I have nothing to contribute at this time but look forward to grabbing some popcorn and reading this thread regularly. Thank you.
