  1. Not sure - I'm getting it on Android with Chrome, as well as iOS (both Chrome and Safari), no plugins / no extensions. I don't know if those browsers inherently have pop-up blocking enabled for mobile, but that's been my experience thus far.
  2. The issue I have now is that I no longer see the “x” to close out such ads..
  3. That would be impressive to lose another 34 games out of the next 31. Like, we'll find out that some player's contract was invalid, or that Pedro wrote "OK" in the lineup card in a space that says "leave this space blank" or something. That would be impressive.
  4. They've also lost (checks notes) 100 games when tied going into the 1st inning.
  5. I think Getz has done a crap job overall so far, but I fail to see the humor in realizing that they should go outside the org for hiring. Of all if the things to criticize him for, this shouldn’t be one of them.
  6. I mean, you could probably replace a lot of the decision makers with ChatGPT or a Twitter poll and get better results.
  7. What's sad is that they would probably make more money with a cardboard cutout of an owner than with JR at the helm.
  8. I think @WhiteSox2023 shared this above, but I am also unable to close / hide ads on my Android on the bottom of the page, so I am now unable to insert quotes from other posters (the ad covers up the "quote post" button at the bottom)
  9. Patrick O’Sullivan
  10. I'd have more faith in Art Vandelay at this point.
  11. I sit in the box.... I feel shame.
  12. Getz is filling the role of Hahn and Williams, so JR is REALLY happy.
  13. They leave, and they are replaced by the next batch of young, cheap players. You invest in the pipeline, and you get a constant churn of young, controllable talent.
  14. Good thing we didn't lose a year and that Reinsdorf gave us what we deserved as a fanbase.
  15. If there's one thing I've learned in my Sox fandom, it's that I won't believe anything related to Reinsdorf until it finally happens.
  16. I think hiring the wrong people, then stepping in and overruling the people he hires (like the TLR hiring) are a pretty big cause for there being a bad front office.
  17. Once you've read the threads you want, there's a "mark as read" button in the top-right.
  18. How old? Early specialization is a huge problem, or at least it was up through like 5 years ago when I was still paying close attention to youth sports. I know USA Hockey and the USOC are actively trying to address it.
  19. I'm less worried about the 2025 MLB payroll and more worried about: 1. Analytics budget 2. Player development budget ...not that we'd really get to see that, but the MLB goals for 2025 should be: 1. If lower-ceiling players (the Sosas of the world) are close to ready, give them playing time and development opportunities at the MLB level. 2. Fill the other positions with intelligent flippable-reclamation-project signings. Guys like Flexen, etc., who can come cheap, but this time, focus on players that the analytics and player development staff identify as "we can fix that" guys. If they aren't working out, dump 'em early and move onto the next guy. If they somehow work out, flip 'em for AA / AAA prospects. 2025 will be painful regardless at the MLB level, so you might as well focus on building up assets to have some hope of a core to emerge in 2026. So, in summary, we're all doomed.
  20. ... through shared misery. But seriously, thank you to the admins who do this as a labor of love
