  1. @southsider2k5 - a forward of that email to their PR department, stating they should know some asshole is sending stupid emails from their email servers, would be appropriate.
  2. Their “high water mark” pace of .318 would still be about 8 or 9 games worse than the next-worst records in MLB today.
  3. Reminds me of this Onion gem: https://theonion.com/lou-piniellas-first-big-move-as-cubs-manager-is-to-resi-1819568767/ I kind of can't wait to see what they come up with for the Sox.
  4. We could have signed Moldy to a 2-year deal with those savings.
  5. The manager I want to see (no joke) is Ricky Renteria. Say what you will about his 2020 late-season and postseason managerial moves, but he knows how to help players grow, even on losing teams.
  6. Yes, but we would have missed out on that one Leury home run.
  7. Do they think it's innovative to have a process to hire the right candidate for a position?
  8. I can't believe they're not considering TLR.
  9. Well, the state of New York oughta at least have one football team in the state, right??
  10. Even earlier than the announcement. As soon as rumors started, we all knew it was bad.
  11. We have a game, right? seems like it’s competitive.
  12. I think that's my point. We need to do more things like Cleveland and other similarly run orgs, but JR won't allow it, or Getz doesn't want to go that route (or both).
  13. I am in the “wait and see” camp, but the bad moves are far outweighing the good. Anyone can see that. has he made positive changes? I hope so. I am giving Barfield the benefit of the doubt, and it seems like pitching has an actual development strategy. I also appreciate that they’re keeping Montgomery down to actually develop. That said, these positive changes are things that get us caught up to a Cleveland type of operation if we do it across the entire org, top to bottom. We have a LONG way to go, and I don’t think Getz (at least in this org) is going to be able to do enough to get out of the cellar.
  14. By “the Sox might be able to take advantage of that,” I am beginning to suspect that he meant “the Sox can also slash their entire scouting budget to match the competition.”
  15. There. Fixed it. Nobody will know now
  16. Shows how much I am paying attention
  17. Because I made you all have so much fun today by starting a game thread yesterday a day ahead of time, I am going to start the tomorrow game thread today, which will be yesterday tomorrow, but tomorrow of that.
  18. I can't quote because ads are blocking the quote button @WestEddy, but I am annoyed that they waited basically an entire IL stint to "see if he heals," then play him because he's their only option after an in-game injury, then IL him anyways. It's not like they "waited a couple of days" here. And this is a pattern with this team for years. Whichever lane that puts me into in your mind, that's the lane I'm in, I guess.
  19. Does this mean I have to start another game thread for tomorrow, tonight?
  20. That bold part really does make this exchange asinine. That said, guys like Sosa could have filled in at SS in the meantime, no? It's just mind boggling that they keep doing this same "play short for basically the entire duration of an IL stint" thing, especially when they're calling guys up for 1 game at a time.
  21. I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in the bylaws that if you give up homers to players like Lopez and Fletcher in the same game, you are now that team's property. Not sure which bag of drugs that was written in, but I'm pretty sure that's how it goes.
  22. Is it that we're just noticing the moronic things that this org is doing more, or is that they're doing more of said moronic thing? The IL is 10 days. Wasn't he sitting out for over a week? IL him after a couple of days, and let his wrist figure out if it's gonna respond to treatment while on the IL. Not that any of this matters this year anyways.
