  1. The sad thing is that "today ready talent" in this case has to be a collection of marginally-better-than-replacement level players.
  2. Getting from 120 losses to 90 losses should be the easy part.
  3. I was going to suggest half jokingly to sign him to backfill the deadline departures
  4. This move makes SOME sense then. could flip him or dump him after the year with minima risk.
  5. At least this way, we're (probably) not ruining yet another prospect's development by rushing them to play meaningless games on a team destined to lose at historical rates, guided by one of the worst field managers in history.
  6. I do agree we need to move (ahem) Beyond Burger.
  7. Meh - this is a nothingburger of a deal. Like other have mentioned, this just means someone like DeJong is being traded, and the backfill prospects aren't ready (in the org's view). As long as this doesn't cut into Sosa's time, I'm OK with this move.
  8. His bWAR of 0.1 places him instantly into a tie for 6th on this Sox roster.
  9. I feel like someone needs to make a White Sox recruitment video with this.
  10. Home field advantage for the World Series is on the line!!!
  11. Those Oakland numbers.... yikes. Went to a Sox-A's game last year in Oakland, and I've been to more crowded parking lots at Class A ballgames.
  12. "Polarizing?" Jason Benetti is one of the best in the business. You've gone from one of the best in the business and whose exit was apparently a result of requests from national media outlets to be able to use him more (they don't do that with bad announcers), to... Schriffen. If you want to talk about alienating a fanbase, that's one way to do it. Sure, on-field performance will positively or negatively cloud people's judgment of the in-booth product, but to go from 6th to DFL (Dead F'ing Last), my guess is that the in-booth product got worse.
  13. The Sox were a 101-loss team last year but had a #6-rated broadcast booth, per this same study / metric. I think there might be more to this than just the on-field product.
  14. I don't understand how this could be. (clearly not sarcasm here)
  15. Must be all of those endorsement deals.
  16. Pedro’s firing brings harmony and unity to Soxtalk.
  17. Martin Maldonado serves as the Designated Hitter in a game…. or is this also too realistic?
  18. Martin Maldonado finishes with a lower OPS than team winning percentage.
  19. Thanks. see? Prediction #1 is already wrong.
  20. American Standard listed as the official flush valve partner of the Chicago White Sox
