Yeah, based on 1st inning his change up was at 90~91. Looks like now his fastball is at 93~94, dipping down to 91~92.

Seems like Kopech needs to learn a thing or two from Cease

I think pitchtrax is mislabeling his 91mph changeup as fastballs.

Maybe. Fastball looks like he's got a good amount of run to it when he wants. Nice tight slider there.

Yeah the way I see it, we're still trying to figure out the bullpen pieces - who can pitch in what conditions, when can we jettison Diekman, etc. Houston has a "set" bullpen at this point. They're going to have an advantage this time of year. Yes, Houston is playing shorthanded, but all things considered, I'm happy with a split. Hell - the team was in all 4 games, which is more than we can say about the 2021 Division Series matchup when the Sox were clearly overmatched.

Can someone start a Moncada Thread Thread so we can keep track of the Moncada Threads? I can never remember if I'm supposed to love him or hate him.

Nice to see bats finally coming through at the end of the game. Outhitting the opposition and losing would have been so on-brand for 2022.

Prediction: with the advent of PitchCom, the concept of a “personal catcher” will go by the wayside. -

Weird (in a good way) not to have that unnecessary day-after-opening-day-off-day thing. -

When asked why Leury was batting 2nd, La Russa responded, "well, I've been getting into advanced stats lately, and I know that #2 is where you should put your most productive hitter. I want to start Leury off on the right foot, so that's where I put him." -

I was born in '84, and I'm over a decade away from fifty. -
Doesn't Hawk live in Arizona now or somewhere like that? In that case 6-8 hours for "home" games (including flights) would seem realistic.

ha - just saw that episode yesterday.

I hope this is actual good news.

I propose a managerial challenge to ejections. Double or nothing. If the managerial challenge is upheld, the ejection is overturned and umpire is ejected. if the challenge is rejected, a second player (of the opposing manager’s choosing) is also ejected.

I place the over/under on the number of Andrew Vaughn starts in RF at 5.

Nice to have a vegan option finally.

Doesn't seem unreasonable. Kind of surprising that they're taking a somewhat logical approach and tinkering, rather than taking some draconian all-or-nothing approach to a rule.
