We needed to be in the comfortable position that Kopech could be rested down the stretch and eased into the starting role. As we are obviously not in that position it’s pretty obvious that leaning on him too much in his first year as a starter was going to lead to issues.
Yep, battled and saw a decent amount of pitches. Didn’t look totally lost. I’ll take it as a trending upward sign, along with yesterday and the 5 hit game pre-IL stint.
