The dreaded bases loaded -
I don't think you remember how stupid good prime Sale was. Kopech has been amazing, but Sale did it for years. That being said, the Sox dumped Sale at the perfect time before his arm started falling off.

You think he'll give up a hit? Bold. -
Glad to read you got some perspective on this. Just stop trying to overanalyze it. That season was not about great individual players (like you said, the only true great was Thomas, and he was insignificant on the whole in 2005). But all of those players collectively as a team added up to greater than the sum of their parts and ran it wire to wire and dominated the playoffs in a way that we haven't seen since. That was special. The fact that it was a one-off shouldn't take away from the fact that it was one of the most special sports experiences many of us have ever had. I'm not a baseball historian, I'm a fan. 2005 is what fans live for.

What do you appreciate? If you have bad feelings towards the 2005 team idk what to tell you honestly.

I think everyone on this board was looking forward, for once, to a clean and easy win after those first few innings. As glad as I am that they won, hard to deny that going from 6-0 to 6-5 and making it a nailbiter (once again) wasnt't a little bit frustrating and irritating. And having to (once again) use our high leverage bullpen guys close out another game that should have been well in hand. Not trying to be negative here. But this team makes it hard sometimes.

As sad and unsatisfying a win as it was, it's still a series win on the road against a winning team. I'll take that all day long and twice on Sundays.
-
This sums up everything I am feeling right now.

Also, fuck Lucas. I called out last week as a bad start for a good pitcher, but to get spotted a 6-0 lead and piss it away like this is inexcusable.
-
Welp, so much for the good vibes. I don't know why I expected any different.

Doubt he would have called it a successful OF debut if that were the case
