I've spent some nights staying up till 2:00 AM writing for this site, which I've owned since March 2001. I've busted my ass, along with jason and others -- who are also young like me -- to make this site what it is, 365 days a year, every day. I think that speaks more than a guy who has simply watched the Sox when they want for 40 years. the whole how many years of being a sox fan is bulls***. unless you are a bandwagoner, all opinions are the same.
-
I'm about 5'5-5'6, 130 pounds (busting my behind to get to 140), balding (not bald, yet) with glasses. I tried to get a photo myself on the computer once, but I'm not too crafty with that crap.

everytime I check, you are here on a white sox board, preaching that we give up on this team, yet you are here. state your point and leave, just please, don't show any pleasure if this team does do things in the end. you think this team is done, which is fine to believe that based on the fact that this team has been inconsistent all season long. thing is, you are so totally convinced that this team is junk and can't do a thing that you will not only throw away this season in your posts, but continue to stay and post here? THAT makes no sense. as far as this 20+ year of being a sox fan bulls***. I'm not an optomist, although many on this board feel I am. so many people on here gets all damn excited when this team wins and so f***ing upset when this team loses. I on the other hand take it for what it is, a sport and a team. s*** happens. too many people get too worked up and too pissed off, especially considering they are getting pissed off because a team they claim is worthless, plays bad. if you think this team is bad and terrible, why not only get pissed time and time again, like you are surprised, but post time and time again preaching to everyone to forget this team?
-
and what if the Sox were to comeback and win this division? you can say "I don't see this team winning it or I strongly believe they won't it", but it is stupid to stand here and say "this team won't make it because they aren't good enough, period", because one, you are still posting and two, you will be posting and celebrating if this team were to make it to the playoffs. it is alright to think, but don't just count them out based on a lifetime of dissapointment. if you think this is the case, that this team won't succeed based on its past, why would you even be a fan? to wait for something that you clearly believe won't happen based on the past? you say "this team hasn't done anything in 20-plus years", which shows you see no hope or future in them, yet you are here, posting. makes little sense.

Barry Zito, no doubt.

killa, when we were in third and about to pass up the twins, people were saying the same thing from the Twins point of view. this is a three-team race and will be that way the rest of the way. we still have a s***load of games against both teams and we are only two games out. as far as losing to the Angels and Rangers? it sucks, but if i were to lose against certain teams and win against others, I'd rather prove we can beat the best, which is who we will be playing the final month, and if all works out, the playoffs.
-
I don't know how this team can go 12-1 out of the break and everyone jumps back on the bandwagon, then struggles in six games and everyone is ready to jump off. fact is, this guy just signed up days ago, when this all started, and has only said, "this team is done, forget about them". you can complain, I don't mind that, but there is no point to have continous posts about this team being done. if you believe that, say it and move on.

it isn't about having a point, it is about registering to simply say the season is over with no logic behind it. f***, we were 8 games back, people said it was over and why? because we were 8 games back, YET we fought back. now we are 2 games back and this guy says it is over and why? no idea, especially considering we will be playing the Royals and Twins ALOT in September. you know who they are, right? the two teams everyone said we couldn't beat, yet we've beaten them this season. it is as simple as that.
-
this is the third post I've seen from you, all of which you are saying the same old b****y crap. if you think that way, please leave the board idiot. why would you register just to post crap like this? anyone else getting tired of this goof?
-
agreed, he throws inside too, which is always a plus. he doesn't look like a starter, but could be a quality reliever.
-
the guy was a good reliever for a few years with a ton of potential. he didn't even pitch that bad last season, just had a few rough games that skyrocketed his ERA, many of them coming against us. I'd sign him and give him a chance, the guy could be a valuable righty out of the pen.
-
how many guys have we gotten from Beane that have been bad? Koch? I'm sure you can't say Cotts hasn't been good for us based on one start. so we got Olivo and Koch, one good, one bad. you make it seem as though we have 5-6 guys from Beane who have done nothing.
-
also, over the past week we've thrown 4 people out at the plate and robbed two people of homers at the wall. that shows effort.
-
I think the lack of heart and effort is bulls***. this team has been upbeat all season considering the way they've played. they have simply lost a series to the Angels, it has little to do with heart. look at the entire team and you see guys who can work hard. do all bust their asses? hell no, but no team has that. Valentin, Everett, Lee, Ordonez, Konerko, all of them have worked hard. it has nothing to do with effort, they have simply lost three out of four games. they wasted chances in game one, but fought back in the end. they won game two, playing all-round baseball they lost game three in a game you can't complain about, it was a great game where they showed good defense and pitching. yesterday's game was bad in that Garland was hit early and the offense did nothing to help. then, Manuel pulls Garland in the seventh, leading to an additional two runs. the Sox scored a run in the eighth and threatened in the ninth. effort is not the problem.
-
granted Adkins walked two and gave up a hit, he looked pretty good. showed both a fastball and slider which he changed speed decently on. I think he was just nervous, like Cotts.
-
I was a huge fan of that move when they did it. I mean, the game is changing everyday, if you don't have one starter, why not use two relievers.
-
Thomas in first, Sandy in second and Konerko in 10th (he is that slow).

you have to spend 10 days in the minors after getting demoted before you can get called up again.
-
we'll update people on the situation in time, but there is nothing to say right now.
-
yes, we apologize for this. we have no idea what the final outcome of this will be, but we will do everything possible keep both sites up. as far as soxtalk? this will stay open at all costs, unfortunately the same can't be said for SoxNet. we'd like to explain the entire situation, but it is far too long and deep of a story. Also, we don't want to disrupt and make public any of our plan from here on out. we will keep you guys updated. thanks for you patience.

Everett made a bad decision by throwing home and Valentin forgot that he needs to be the cutoff man, bad overall play.
-
a deadline trade would've been nice, but as you said, they were active earlier and the asking price for some guys were crazy. I'm OK with standing pat.
-
I bet, pending the next four games and weather, they'll be 32,000 there on Monday.
-
that is how baseball is, nothing you can do about it. the Reds were dumb in this and should've jumped on the Garcia over from the Mariners, but are really greedy right now.
-
I left the room and didn't see what happened, can someone explain?
