everyone thought he caught that.

Graffanino needs to platoon with Valentin and Alomar against the lefties. you don't want to sit only Valentin against lefties because he has shown the ability to at least walk. you can't sit Alomar strictly against lefties however because of his defense. either way, Graffanino can not play every game. play him 1-2 times a week sporadically and he'll get 1-3 hits every time. play him more than that and he'll slide a bit.

point is, putting men on three days rest is fine, once in a while. under the sox plan, they will have a couple guys on three days rest in the last week. would be very hard to do. outside of that, the fifth man will be facing teams like the Rangers, Angels, Tigers and Indians. if we can't find a way to beat teams like that down the stretch no matter who is pitching, we wouldn't deserve to make it to the playoffs.
-
the two times you will need to put a guy on three days rest will be against the royals as the other series' the fifth man will be going up against weaker teams. against the royals, if we were to move a guy on three days rest, it would be Jon Garland. do we want Garland going on three days rest back to back starts? we'd have to reconfigure the rotation in the early part of September for that. if that were the case, Loaiza and Garland would have to be switched like I have it here. only way Sox use a fifth man five times is if their starters go on three days rest here and there. also, once during this stretch their four man guys will be going on five days rest because of two days off in a five day period. no way to avoid that.
-
we will need a fifth starter exactly 9 times the rest of the season. something interesting to note is the fact that we had two postphoned games against the Indians this year but only made up one of those games, meaning the Sox will play the Indians on the last day of the season IF it has any implications on the standings. IF we end up facing the Indians, Buehrle would be scheduled to pitch. here is the remaining schedule and probables. 29-July Garland 30-July Loaiza 1-Aug Colon 2-Aug UD 3-Aug Buehrle 4-Aug Garland 5-Aug Loaiza 6-Aug Colon 7-Aug OFF 8-Aug Buehrle 9-Aug Garland 10-Aug Loaiza 11-Aug UD 12-Aug Colon 13-Aug Buehrle 14-Aug Garland 15-Aug Loaiza 16-Aug UD 17-Aug Colon 18-Aug Buehrle 19-Aug Garland 20-Aug Loaiza 21-Aug UD 22-Aug Colon 23-Aug Buehrle 24-Aug Garland 25-Aug OFF 26-Aug Loaiza 27-Aug Colon 28-Aug Buehrle 29-Aug Garland 30-Aug UD 31-Aug Loaiza SEPTEMBER 1-SEP OFF 2-SEP Colon 3-SEP Buehrle 4-SEP OFF 5-SEP Garland 6-SEP Loaiza 7-SEP Colon 8-SEP Buehrle 9-SEP UD 10-SEP Garland 11-SEP Loaiza 12-SEP Colon 13-SEP Buehrle 14-SEP UD 15-SEP OFF 16-SEP Garland 17-SEP Loaiza 18-SEP Colon 19-SEP Buehrle 20-SEP UD 21-SEP Garland 22-SEP Loaiza 23-SEP Colon 24-SEP Buehrle 25-SEP UD 26-SEP Garland 27-SEP Loaiza 28-SEP Colon

the fifth starter wouldn't get skipped, his starts will just be pushed back, so instead of the fifth guy going on four days rest, he may pitch on six days rest. in the end, that will cut out about 3-4 starts.

yeah, thing is, the Purple line train doesn't run as frequent, so the wait for that may be a bit longer. the green line train gets off 4 blocks or so east of the dan ryan, while the red line stops in the middle of the dan ryan.

it wasn't written for the sake of being written, it was written to show other pitchers who are out there. everyone mentioned is available and either are or have received interest from the Sox. "Other possible, but unlikely, targets" read that over and over again, once you understand what that means, respond. if you can't, ask me and I'll explain. thank you
-
Vazquez is out there for the right price. Hernandez and Ponson were in "rumors" to the Sox, therefore putting them in there is as outside targets doesn't mean good chances. once again though, these are RUMORS, treat them as they are.

well, apparently the earlier talk of one being found is false. they have yet to find a thing, all they have is a tip that it is in that area, so they are digging the street, part of the sox parking lot and under the vidac (not sure if I spelled that right).
-
yeah, it was dug up all right, pretty creepy to see too. apparently the body was buried back in the 70s. they are saying that the body was found underground where a company used to be (now a Sox parking lot), but the digging happened in the street, not in the Sox parking lot.

initial reports were Hoffa, but it wasn't him. I can't remember the name, but I heard who it was. wasn't anybody well known, at least in the same category as a Capone. helicopters have been flying around all day. BTW, I had nothing to do with it, I PROMISE, lol.
-
it is freaking weird, but two blocks from my house, on 33rd and Shields (right by USC), the FBI gotta tip from another mobster in jail and broke up the street, finding a body of an old mobster. it is so f***ing weird since i drive through there everyday.

Colon mixed it up today. he threw outside to lefties and inside to righties, when he usually does the complete opposite. he threw his change and curve occassional to keep guys off balance. overall, it was a very good outing.

as long as they get/develope a staff for Pinella, they will win. Pinella needs a staff. you give him a staff and they'll win because he's such a great offensive manager.
-
he should be in time, because his career will eventually, or at least should be, as a reliever.
-
When a team scores 6 runs they should win a game
Molto replied to Loaiza21's topic in Pale Hose Talk
yeah, that is right, because Porzio has given up 6 or more runs in every start this year, right? is Porzio a good pitcher? no, you can even say he is bad, but he's had three starts and did everything asked of him in two of them. our staff has been great all year NOW all of a sudden it is our offense that shouldn't have to pick up the staff? six runs should be enough? normally, yes, six should be enough, but this offense has been picked up by the staff all f***ing year, now is the time they need to do their part and back up the staff. either way, I'll take the loss as Marte and Gordon didn't pitch, they needed these past two days off. -
a lot of Sox fans have short memories for most guys and long memories for others. we snapped our eight game winning streak, so we now suck. White, who has been solid over the past month and a half, now sucks. Porzio, who was did his job in his first two starts, now sucks Manuel, who really didn't do anything wrong this game, sucks Koch, who although has been terrible this year, has had a good career overall, now sucks

for this poll, Connan O'Brien, but Jon Stewart should be on there also. even though he isn't considered late night, his show is funny as s***.
-
having Valentin bunt was fine in my opinion. reason is Valentin wasn't going to do anything if he swung anyway as he can't hit righty. as far as Olivo? shouldn't of been bunting.
-
as long as Porzio throws five innings and gives up four or less runs, everything is good as that is his job right now.

BTW, I'm glad Jimenez is no longer with us, simply because I would like to see him go somewhere where he can develope, make mistakes and learn, and not here where he was under a damn microscope while other players were playing worse behind everyones backs.
-
people hate him because of the sticker that was placed on him before he even started playing. everyone likes to look at the comments made by Ryan Klesko or base things on what someone heard from their friend who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a player. fact is, Jimenez was a HUGE reason we even stayed afloat in the early going as he was our ONLY offensive threat. as far as hustle. first off, he did run hard many times, no more or less than any other major league player these days. it is amazing how Ordonez could jog into second base the other day, or how Valentin can jog out a grounder, WHICH HE DID THE OTHER DAY, and nobody says a damn thing, but Jimenez did it and people ripped him to shreds. was Jimenez a bit lazy? yeah, you can say so. was his defense bad? at the time? his defense was questionable, but how can Valentin get away with poor defense for 15 years and Jimenez can't get away with it for a few months? as far as baserunning? yeah, it was bad, but who is to say he can't improve on it? Lee did and is a pretty good baserunner now. why can't Jimenez? people picked on Jimenez. our team was terrible and, just like Royce Clayton, Jimenez was to blame. I also find it funny how nobody points out Jimenez ability to hit all pitchers. Jimenez was a fastball or offspeed hitter. he wasn't a lefty or righty only hitter. he, unlike Roberto Alomar, had the capabilities to hit all pitchers. I can't believe a 25-year-old guy who has never been given a full year to prove and improve himself in the bigs is put under so much damn scrutinity, especially considering how piss poor this team has played over the past few years. you guys had a bad impression of Jimenez from day one and kept on adding to it because of little stupid things he did that many other players do. can you say double standard?

Pirates of the Caribbean is worth seeing. it isn't a great movie, but it is good. good action, pretty funny and a pretty good story. a little long, but I think as long as it is an action movie, a long movie is fine.
